It has been announced that Yatsumi Matsuno has left Level-5, the developers behind the Professor Layton series.
Matsuno tweeted to his followers that he was retiring from the company due to personal reasons which he didn't state.
Matsuno had only joined Level-5 in June last year and had been working on Crimson Shroud, part of Guild01, the same video game compilation for the 3DS which spawned Liberation Maiden.
He had this to say:
Even though it was for a short period of time, I was able to work hard without any gross mistakes. I am extremely grateful for the gift of genial teaching I received from everyone. Over and over again, thank you so much. I plan on taking a break for a while. I’m very thankful to have your support from now on.
We wish Matsuno the best for the future, and we look forward to playing his first - and only - game from his time at Level-5. Crimson Shroud is yet to get a release date for North America and Europe.

Crimson Shroud is the Guild01 game I was most looking forward to so I'll definitely be downloading it as soon as it is available. Good Luck Mr Matsuno.
I'm with @akabenjy on this one, its my most anticipated Guild01 game too. I hope he has a good break but hears about the resounding success of Crimson Shroud & hence comes back to make a sequel haha
Same here guys ^. I'm not saying they are not worthy, just personally Crimson Shroud is the only one that interests me, right now. Hopefully Matsuno-san gets some rest and returns to the scene with some great ideas
Funny, I was looking forward to that game the most too.
