But... but didn’t they demoed a set up with Mario kart VR? C’mon we all know that will be the first game for the switch successor that will have VR at 1080 and 60 FPS per eye... not mentioning Metroid 5
@OorWullie grand slam tennis was fine for the time... now with those expensive joycons I hope that they would at least upgrade the gameplay. But don’t worry: we’ll have a braaaand new Mario tennis... tsk!
However I sincerely do not understand EA:
We all have seen switch enormous sales, so I think that they should bring every sport game to the switch, but for now nothing seems to appear at the horizon... 🤪
@gcunit as I said it seems to me the same gameplay of the older ones... so if there are motion controls they are going to be only a gimmick (do the motion instead of pushing a button).
Looool to Mario tennis... what a waste of time! Gimmicky controls as it was in 2006. Same ooooold gameplay of the n64 (which wasn’t bad but c’mon it’s almost 20 years of the same) and still we have no gyroaiming in Doom for the switch. Tropical freeze? Hyrule’s warriors? Tsk... Nintendo heavy trolling but it’s no more fun.
Let the open world be. But with swimming underwater and (maybe)later in the game flying... change the combat style, please change it cause it’s so “meh”. And put some characteristic creature. Cause the moblins felt like they were everywhere for no reason... I want witches and ogres as well (spoiled too much by the Witcher 3)
@Varoennauraa Yeah 'm still "stalking" them on twitter to add it in Doom but nothing... such a shame i would give'em my 60 (+ 60 for Wolfenstein) bucks but for now: wallet close man!
I bought the season pass on march so for me not a problem to play it, when finished a dozen of games... The only concern about it it's that at the beginning i hoped that MAYBE you could play as the champions with their particular features and i would have loved if you could swim underwater or fly and find other little locations and secrets...
@BulbasaurusRex
the majority of those used motion only as a gimmick. when talking about FPS-TPS is a little bit different imho.
the majority of "motion controls haters" is convinced that gyroaiming is a gimmick only just cause the wii was a gimmicky console for a lot of genres of games, and sometimes they are right, but talking about gyroaiming things change: better, smoother, more immersive option than dual analogue! but if people want to play with dual analogue, no problem: joycons have them, but they have gyrometers as well; so why we all can't have both?
However i can see in this and other posts that there's a lot of people who wants gyroaiming as well as me. SOOOO: what can we do to ask Id Software to patch that damned Doom on switch to add gyroaiming???
@Pazuzu666 this! and you have to consider that that self proclaimed crew of "hardcorez gamerz" still play with autoaim and whatsoever with a obsolete dual analogue setting: so hardcore, so cool!
Nintendo should have paid konami for at least a temporary exclusive of Pez 2018. fifa is usually crushing Pes saleswise so it could be a win win situation for both ninty and konami: big n could have had the pes fans buying a switch... and konami maximize the sales...
Even if it was at 540p but at least 60fps (on par on what seen on wiiu CoD) on portable mode I truly would be happy. And remember they could implement HD rumble. (Of course with motion controls for aiming, playing in the bed with gamepad as a screen was a blast! Not for my back of course )
Who does remember The Godfather game on the wii? Imagine a GTA with those controls and HD rumble! The feeling of a baseball bat! Differences between a shotgun and a automatic rifle! Gyro aiming! gosh I would go nuts!
However: I'd much prefer that konami brought a pro evo (Nintendo should have paid them to keep the next pro evo exclusive: I'm sure than competition between EA and konami at that point could explode). but if EA pit some effort and consumer pays, maybe we will play some other franchise from them (NHL, battlefield?etc etc).
@noutBr Yeah I thought the same... I bought it on wiiu but it hasn't the personality f-zero has. I don't know. Maybe if they implemented the same feature there was in excite trucks when the vehicle lands and you could calibrate the landing so you gain a turbo it could be better.
@Ibberson C'mon people stop to say that those are gimmicky controls! Joycons have the same functionality (ok analogue triggers are missing... however, many so called hardcore gamers do not know how analogue controls work) as a f...ing ps4/Xbox one controller! As it was with the wiiU gamepad!!!
Even if the football/soccer game is for me pro evolution (did kOnami announce something about?) I think Switch needs EA support. Other sports gaming brands are needed. But if Switch is not capable to handle them (and if Nintendo didn't work well with important third parties even if it is EA...) we will see another WiiU situation. and for big N it will mean the end.
Does anyone know if you can play with joycons not on the grip? So you can aim "a la wiimote plus" like in call of duty? That would be awesome! (Missing opportunity on the wii u)
Nintendo's fault lies in the fact they didn't launch WiiU when everybody were asking (and of course wirh the right architecture inside the system): 2010. Sony and Microsoft did see the error and covered with big money big third parties and gaming "journalists" to kill wiiU at release. Why? Console market splitted in 2 and no more 3 pieces and Possibly to have those preciousssss nintendo's ip's on sony/microsoft consoles. It will be the same with the switch, unless big N has thrown big money ti developers this time. (Bad english sorry)
@shani Yep i know... But Gamepad's most important use in splatoon i think Was aiming with motion controls. so i think mote and nunch could be a superior way to play this game. In the end wiiU second screen best feature is off tv playing. I think motion controls are a natural evolution of playing games and i hope switch has them. enough of dual analogue.
Uhm... yes of course the 3ds will be missed in that case but the wiiU? The only game using second screen feature i remember being splatoon: i prefer having motion control over second screen. do you want to jump on a specific area? push + button and it will display a map on the screen in a microsecond. The other microsecond will be used aiming with a cursor thanks to IR or motion plus controlling the zone you want to jump in; release + button and there you are. enough saying that original splatoon on the wiiU could be the perfect shooter with wiimote nunchuck config
What i do not understand si people blaming about motion controls. Essentially it could be a Ds4 CUT in a half. So we can have a serious motion setup for fps's (and other games) and you cavemen can play the "good old way"; remember that the majority of the so called hardcore gamerZ still do not understand how a analog stick work.
@gatorboi352 yes they work... and it's almost 2 decades they work the same way... Motion controlling IS the natural evolution of gaming controlling but "casual=hardcore gamers" didn't permit this evolution: "ohhh no it's just waggling around/soccer moms gaming/old people bowling! We are PS/XBOX Super-hardcore gamers (9 to 18 years old...LOL) and we won't let a natural superior setup on a "kiddie" console change our habits (what will we do otherwise with our thumbs?)". Sure Nintendo had a big part on this (as i like to call it) "involution in gaming control"; maybe if they chose to give us a machine on pair with ps3 and xbox360 everybody now would play the RIGHT way (sorry for my english, mate! )
I hope that NX will be a handheld, a powerful one, displaying 1080p at 60Fps, streaming to the Tv (no imput lag of course). In addiction, up to 4 controllers can be linked for local Multiplayer. Retro compatibility with all the WiiU and 3ds Library (included VC). That would be a great thing and only in this way Nintendo can survive this year. (and if they bought Konami they could battle in Europe against ps4/Xone FIFA with a exclusive PES 2017...)
