Majority would have bought their games, in the pre-Steam days, via Steam.

Nintendo does not have that install base.

And what happens when Nintendo sells their games at the same prices as the retailers. Profits will go to Nintendo and game retailers get absolutely nothing.

Then, any bridges that Nintendo has built with the retailers are burnt, and Nintendo are screwed as their only path to sell is through their own shops. In the long run, having Nintendo only sell their products would be the worst possible result for everybody involved.

Better yet, buy a 3DS and a copy of the game for your friends and family. A much more cost-effective way for sure.

@LollipopChainsaw I agree with you, yet also disagree.

The iPad isn't being sold as a portable gaming device. Yes it plays games, (and there are a bunch of amazing ones) but it is also an ebook, a web browser, productivity machine etc. The 3DS on the other hand can only play games.

@Thomas I think where the problem is in achieving the desired number of sales arises from the fact that this adds nothing to the 3DS other than a bigger screen and an hour of extra battery life. The 3DSXL only appeals to those who don't have a 3DS and (I'm guessing) the small fraction of current 3DS users who are willing to pay extra for the larger screen/battery. It's been out for a year and a half now, and aside from in Japan, I don't see sales increasing drastically until the next big games come out. Even then, I question how many people who would buy the system for Mario (which is pretty much all the 3DS has going for it first party wise) don't already have one.

The criticism is valid. The 3DS is meant to be a portable system, and increasing the size of the system only detracts from the portability of it.

We could use the idea for NL Game number 2.

I get what Katy is saying about the Tron stuff.

What I can recall, a lot of the settings (if not all) in KH are cartoony, very un-realistic. (Correct me if I'm wrong) So with one section of a game having two out of place characters in the realistic Grid may seem odd.

MGS and KH don't see you creating a character and creating relationships and actions that are reflected through it's sequels. Starting at either ME2 or ME3, you lose a lot of hours of character development. It can be made up in a comic, but you're going to feel a hell of a lot more for a character you play with for 20+ hours rather than reading through a comic.

If this is going to be a launch game, it would be a good chance to take a look at how the multiplayer works._{still need to pick up ME3, when school is over}

Unleashed seems to be added on to all Nintendo experiences in the UK.

Also, this is why there are multiple releases of fighting games.
They need to be balanced, and when you have a large roster of characters it isn't gonna be balanced.
