@Otaku What? A port of SMB on a completely different system would take away from another systems sales?
Capcom have done this well. I can play Phoenix Wright, Ghost Trick, Marvel vs Capcom 2, SFIV all on my phone. I can also play Minecraft, Sonic, Secret of Monkey Island games, Final Fantasy games, Dead Space, Grand Theft Auto, Chrono Trigger and many more.
Capcom: So yeah... we're releasing Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (third release).
'Yeah of course you're gonna Crapcom. All you do is re-release games. Why buy this when I can buy Super Ultra Mega Gaga Street Fighter IV Arcade Collectors Edition.
Nicalis: So. We're gonna release Cave Story for the fifth time, (sixth if you count the PC re-release.) Enjoy.
EDIT: Just to be clear, I understand that Rhythm Paradise is still in the title, but it's merely a shadow compared to the large Beat the Beat, purchasers who have played the DS version may not recognise this title.
I see I was right. Already released in America and it seems as if the whoever made the core game is angry that their contract didn't work out and wants all the money for themselves.
@ThumperUK So you could easily make a game without getting paid by the company you're making for and sell 6,000 copies. I'd like to see that.
@madgear The PC version of Super Meat Boy was at launch (from memory) about 350mbs.
How is what Beamdog said childish? Most of its employee's probably have family, bills to pay, mouths to feed. Nintendo's policy of no pay till 6000 is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, Beamdog are some-what responsible for the 9-month certification, but you have to think. Do they really want to spend a whole amount of time on a game that may actually make zero profit?
I'm not sure if someone said it here or on the other news post, but do we know how much of the 1000 points I payed for the game go to the developers and Nintendo?
@Retro_Hype yay! contradictions! "i wouldnt even call it a game." But wait... "its that simplicity that ruins the game for me."
@TrueWiiMaster Wait, I don't get it. So Mario fans are allowed to dismiss Angry Birds, and yet Angry Bird fans aren't allowed to dismiss Mario?
Also, I doubt someone wouldn't have put in 100 hours into a game if they didn't enjoy it. If your hypothetical situation, of 10v100 hours was true, I would bet that you found more enjoyment in Angry Birds as you played it for 10 times longer than you did Mario.
"I hate Mario games with a passion, but I'm not going to pretend that the millions of people who like the games are all wrong." What was the point of saying that? Are you seriously comparing the popularity of a free phone game to that of a full price DS game?
What I think Waltz was trying to say was that although he dislikes Mario games, he still respects those who enjoy the games, rather than simply outcasting them.
Also, let us clarify something. Angry Birds costs 99c, and yet, it is still able to provide hours and hours of gameplay. When you consider value for money, compared to a full priced retail game, you're getting an absolute steal with amazing pick up and play games, such as Angry Birds.
I love how because s/he is anonymous s/he is titled a fanboy/biased towards Sony/Microsoft.
Kudos to those in these comments who have supported their opinions, rather than simply pulling the 'It's a troll' card.
Also, I honestly can't believe that a gamer cannot enjoy a game solely based on its gameplay. It's about the experience. Sound, graphics, story, gameplay all work together to create the game. They don't stand separate from one another. If one is superior to others, then the game will suffer as a whole.
This is really great/sad news to hear. Shame that some 2,000 people are unable to get their previous job at game back, and I hope the best for all of them.
The second quote made by Cousins is completely true.
Nintendo can't continue to run the way they're going. They need to look at their competition, see what they are doing, why they are doing it, and what's the benefit of doing it.
Going blindfolded won't be the best result.
To the people saying they wouldn't buy a $1 game over a full priced game, on most cases you get a lengthy experience with the $1 purchase. This is the case with F2P as well. Look at Team Fortress 2! Personally, I have put over 400 hours into that game, because it is fun. If a game can produce an experience that is enjoyable, and that is cheap/free, I'd rather play that than buying an overpriced game.
Furthermore, on the case of the developer being 'greedy', how are they greedy when they release a game that is free to play? You're not forced to pay money to enhance your experience. You're not being prodded with a red hot poker. On most cases, these developers put great amount of effort into their games, and continue to do so. Without any income, they can't continue to support their endeavors.
It's such a shame to see GAME the way it is at the moment. I love my local store, the staff are a friendly bunch. Hopefully, this is a representation of the staff at UK GAME. Hopefully someone will help GAME get back on their feet soon, especially to help those 2,000+ employees.
Best of luck to all those affected by this whole situation.
Just a question though, (though the answer to which may be embargoed). How many missions are there in the game? This is the major factor in me buying the game and although it offers the Fiend's Cauldron I don't want to be just playing the same level over and over again with little variation.
The deciding factor for me to buy this game is its length. I know there is a lot of replayability with the gamble chance thing, but I don't want there to be a lack of levels.
@retro_player_22 Then lets see those games? All I have heard about is 3rd party ports and announcements. Announcements don't make me spend money.
@Hanks In my post I never talked about the graphics, I talked about experience. I judge my games on the overall experience that they create in me. All factors work together in creating this experience. I don't 100% believe that a person would enjoy a game that has great gameplay, great sound, great everything, and horrible graphics. Not in this day an age at least.
@KoMiCtUrTlE How are they going in a new direction? 'Oh look, a new controller! NINTENDO ARE INNOVATORS!! F*** SONY AND MICROSOFT THEY CAN NEVER THINK ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS. WE ARE SO ORIGINAL!!'
@Malkeor I never said it was getting started. And thank you for bringing up Uncharted as an example. You'll find that games developed for PS3 only perform much better, rather than games developed for all systems.

Re: Nintendo Confirms E3 2012 Press Conference Date & Time
2am! No thank you.
I'd rather read NintendoLife and their excellent coverage in the morning.
Re: VVVVVV Set to Flip Into Europe on 10th May
Won't be buying this again. Got it on steam (most likely cheaper too).
Re: Mario's Presence in UK is 'Smallest in the World'
Then that wouldn't really change anything would it @V8
Re: Nintendo Still Has Secret 3DS Games to Reveal
Gimme F-Zero or a new IP and I'll be happy.
Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 to Kick Off Retail Downloads
@Reala If the past is anything to go by, Nintendo most likely will not drop the prices of their titles for quite a while.
Re: Analyst Calls for Mario on Non-Nintendo Platforms
@Otaku What? A port of SMB on a completely different system would take away from another systems sales?
Capcom have done this well. I can play Phoenix Wright, Ghost Trick, Marvel vs Capcom 2, SFIV all on my phone. I can also play Minecraft, Sonic, Secret of Monkey Island games, Final Fantasy games, Dead Space, Grand Theft Auto, Chrono Trigger and many more.
Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 to Kick Off Retail Downloads
Depends on the price and what game it is. If Animal Crossing were to be a digital game I would definitely buy it.
It's good to see Nintendo going this way.
Re: Frank West and Hsien-Ko Join Project X Zone
Game is lacking Morrigan.
Re: Got Room for One More Version of Cave Story?

"Thank god this is coming out!!"
Re: Europe, What Do You Make Of Your Beat the Beat Box Art?
I didn't know I was playing Beat the Beat.
EDIT: Just to be clear, I understand that Rhythm Paradise is still in the title, but it's merely a shadow compared to the large Beat the Beat, purchasers who have played the DS version may not recognise this title.
Re: Heroes of Ruin is GAME-Exclusive in UK
Hmm. Buy it for £35 in the UK or buy it for £44 in Australia. I know what I would rather do.
for australians that is $54.75 and $68 respectively
Re: Does Ocarina of Time Look Better with Link to the Past's Graphics?
@James But that's no fun.
I swear that that wasn't there earlier...
Re: Kore Gang Publisher Needs Your Money for a Re-Release
I see I was right. Already released in America and it seems as if the whoever made the core game is angry that their contract didn't work out and wants all the money for themselves.
Re: Kore Gang Publisher Needs Your Money for a Re-Release
If this were something done through a crowdfunding site that wasn't run by the company it would see more money I think.
However, asking the community to pick up the pieces because of your bad decisions is a bit iffy.
Re-read the article. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but are they asking for money in order to re-release a game in the States?
Re: Does Ocarina of Time Look Better with Link to the Past's Graphics?
I had a look at this earlier today and it looks epic. Will be great to see it once it's finished (and hopefully maybe we will see some dungeons).
Also, if anyone wants a high-quality link of the image, here you go.
Re: Kirby Gets 20th Anniversary Compilation for Wii
Kirby just sucks so much!

No more Galaxy thing please.
Re: We'll Finally See Pikmin 3 at This Year's E3
Hopefully it won't be 'whatshisface crashes his rocket somewhere'.
Would love to have a large pikmin adventure game.
Re: Titanic Mystery Sails Onto Wii and DS
@Reala I... how... what...
Re: Nintendo Back in the GAME with Pandora's Tower
That is very pretty box art.

Re: Miyamoto: "Angry Birds Would Have Been Better on DS"
If I were replying to you I would have used @Kage_88
And I never said you said it wasn't a 'true game'. I was simply commenting on the large amounts of generalisations many have made.

Everyone who bought this game on an iOS device don't know what a 'true game' is.
I can make sweeping generalisations too!
Re: Capcom: "No Plans for Resident Evil 6 Wii U At This Time"
Point still stands.
Re: Capcom: "No Plans for Resident Evil 6 Wii U At This Time"
My god, it's April and it's due out in November. Wait until then until you make judgement on whether you're going to buy the game or not.

Jill and Ulala.
Take my money!
Re: Marth's Fire Emblem: Awakening DLC Debut Confirmed
@GuardianKing smh...
Re: Capcom: "No Plans for Resident Evil 6 Wii U At This Time"
Nintendo fanboys...

Re: Marth's Fire Emblem: Awakening DLC Debut Confirmed
One day DLC is usually the stuff that was made after the game had been finished. Also, you are not bound by law to buy this!
@Geonjaha I will enjoy the DLC that was produced following the games completion. Thank you for your concern.
Re: Marth's Fire Emblem: Awakening DLC Debut Confirmed
in before why isn't it on the cartridge already
Thank you Nintendo. Finally a step in the right direction.
Re: Rumour: Wii U Components Cost $180, Will Retail at $300
I presume that the $180 is in US?
This seems about right, Australia will still have its price higher than this though.

Dr. Mario!!
My first gameboy game. I love it so much and will most likely buy it again.

@kyuubikid213 How can you enjoy it when the console hasn't been released?
