Re: Nintendo's Upcoming U.S. Release Schedule Gets Updated

AlexSays

Hence why Nintendo delayed them

Because Nintendo thinks everyone shares your financial status? And 110 I'd recommend looking over that analogy. lol

See if Dairy Queen was coming out with a new blizzard, I'd want it to come out on time so everyone could haz it, no matter if I planned on stopping by there on day one.

Just reinforces my belief I'm the nicest one here.

Re: Nintendo's Upcoming U.S. Release Schedule Gets Updated

AlexSays

Some people like to buy games as soon as they come out because they are fans.

And that's terrific. I am very happy for those people.
That's not a reason to be happy a game is being delayed. People here are making it out to seem as if they wished all games were delayed until THEY had the money to buy them.

That's selfish.

Most games get delayed by more months, even years.

Most games don't even get delayed a couple months before their release.
Even if every other game did, how would it matter?

There's not a point here to be missed.

Re: Nintendo's Upcoming U.S. Release Schedule Gets Updated

AlexSays

See the problem Sean is people apparently have to be on one side of the spectrum or the other.

I don't think most people can find the middle ground between being those 'whiners' you're talking about and being Mario colored floor mats.

People think they need to be really upset or really happy. In this case, everyone seems to be happy they don't 'have' to spend money.

Makes much more sense to be slightly disappointed all these games are being delayed and move on. Unfortunately being slightly disappointed would be in that middle ground, so it's as if Nintendo fans need to spin this to make it 'great news'.

Games being delayed isn't good news. If you're worried about your finances, buy less games. And once you have money, it'll likely be a bit nicer if the game is already out instead of waiting.

Re: Nintendo's Upcoming U.S. Release Schedule Gets Updated

AlexSays

Yikes, okay I'll try to put this as simple as possible. Though it seems as the ol' 'if I pretend I don't understand I can't be wrong' trick.

That would have meant I would have to buy FOUR games close together. But now, it is a little more manageable thanks to the delays

Okay see that right there? You remember posting that?

You said you would HAVE to buy four games close together. That accounts for 1 and 2.
The games could come out tomorrow, and you could buy them whenever you have the money, but you don't want that.

You're glad the games are delayed so you don't HAVE to buy them (cause apparently you HAD to before).
You couldn't care less about those that have enough money to buy all the games and would still like them released on time.

You are 'another one'. You're selfish.
Any reasonable person would say 'Oh the games are being delayed? That's horrible for those looking forward to those titles. I probably couldn't afford them right away anyway, but this still isn't good news'.

Instead people are like YES!!!11 TAHNK YOU NINTENDOZ! I'm so glad I don't have to buy more games now! and even more glad other people can't buy them as well.

All I meant was Nintendo could easily have several games (and possibly the 3DS) lined up closer to the end of this year

So your theory is they're releasing a couple games throughout most of the year, but several all at the end?
We'll see how well that works out.

Re: Nintendo's Upcoming U.S. Release Schedule Gets Updated

AlexSays

Oh we got another one. So basically (1) you have to buy games the EXACT moment they come out (2) you'd rather not have the chance to buy a game cheaper and (3) nobody else can play this game until you can.

Nintendo fans are extraordinarily selfish. You're glad I have to suffer because I can afford my hobby?

And does Nintendo usually release games close together? No? Then if they're spreading their releases out to cover more of the year, you think that could possibly mean more games? No?

This should all be slowly coming together.

Re: Nintendo's Upcoming U.S. Release Schedule Gets Updated

AlexSays

That makes me lol

Not the pushing back part but the Nintendo fans acting as floor mats part.

They say they're delaying all their games and people are like 'Oh okay, I didn't want to buy too much anyway!'

It's okay not to be entirely happy with the fact that Nintendo is pushing back two of their only three games, likely because they have nothing to release in that later time slot.

This means less games this year. I don't know how people could be happy about that. Even if you're like 'Oh I already have too much to play' it's like 'Awesome, that doesn't mean the rest of us don't want it released on time'.

And I hope people realize that if games are released on time, they might be cheaper by the time they finally have money again. There's no point in saying 'Yes I'm glad that got pushed back' because you're basically saying you WANT to buy the game full price.

Re: Rage of the Gladiator Giveaway

AlexSays

As much as I love free stuff, or using stuff without paying for it, I can't bring myself to creating a Twitter account.

This is one of the few things I commend developers for though. This alone makes me more likely to buy the game.

Re: Miyamoto: 2010 Will Be Great For Hardcore Nintendo Fans

AlexSays

Where are you getting the two games BS from Alex?

Going from January to May, first five months of the year. Not all that hard to follow. This also goes for the guy talking about Mario Super Wii Bros.

I'm sorry, but they can only do so much and games like Zelda and Galaxy take up a lot of staff hours, I don't think it's reasonable to expect a game from them every other month and the 3rd party support this year is solid.

Couple things here.
(1) Not every game needs to be Zelda and Mario (I know, crazy).
(2) They don't develop every game they publish.
(3) Third parties can't be used to excuse lazy efforts on Nintendo's part. 'Yeah so that guy isn't doing work?' 'Oh don't worry, look at all the work that guy is doing!"

Every month is one thing, but so far it's looking like six months where Nintendo's only titles developed in-house are either sequels that don't seem to make major improvements over the original or are half-outsourced.

Bingo.
The few games we've been getting, we've already played before.
The only problem is the majority of people buying the same games are either (A) them casual people that just buy anything Nintendo or (B) members of this and other Nintendo sites. lol

Re: Fishie Fishie Is Getting Ready to Splash Out on WiiWare

AlexSays

Two thingsas. Developers usually don't put their games on the market thinking the controls are bad. There are lots of Wii games with bad controls.

Sean I know you're a half full kinda guy (not in that picture, you look very slimming) but if people waited until games came out before they were allowed to have any sort of opinion, hardly anyone would ever post. And we can't discriminate against the half empty people now can we!

Re: Miyamoto: 2010 Will Be Great For Hardcore Nintendo Fans

AlexSays

It's already been a nice year, but I'm glad they are still hard at work.

For Nintendo? They've published one Wii game?
And even that game actually came out last year. lol

2008 we had Endless Ocean and Brawl, with Mario Kart and Wii Fit right around the corner.
Last year we just got one new game and a few old ones in that time.

Thankfully this year they've dropped the Gamecube games, but again we're only getting two games.
And both of those we've more or less already played.

Again the 'Oh people just complain about everything this is great news' idea going around is drowning out the possibility that Nintendo is actually giving us less and less.

Re: Fishie Fishie Is Getting Ready to Splash Out on WiiWare

AlexSays

I have no idea what is going on in that video.

Yeah really. lol
That and the controls sound awful.

Clockwise and counterclockwise? I like my fish to go straight and make sharp turns and all that cool stuff.
Seems easier if the pointer was used to navigate the fish and no buttons were used at all.

Re: Grinder Remains a First-Person Shooter on Wii

AlexSays

Makes sense.

The Wii version couldn't compete at all with FPS games on the other consoles.

This way they change it around to make it look 'unique'. After all that's the only way they could possibly trick 360/PS3 owners into buying anything developed by them.

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd March 2010 (North America)

AlexSays

Wow you're from the United States and there is still a language barrier? There's the ol' melting pot for ya.

Okay so basically my language uses a term called 'stealing' to show something has been taken without permission.

Walking into someone's house and taking their belongings is called stealing here. Playing a game someone else puts online for free is not stealing.

There's a big difference and those that do not grasp this concept (such as yourself) most often find themselves in legal trouble.

I hope I've been of some sort of assistance. As for my mother, you'll have to go to her house if you'd like any cookies, pastries, or any other baked goods.

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd March 2010 (North America)

AlexSays

Yeah who cares about supporting who made the game

Oh I see it's about "supporting" them. I love when people say this.
Well in that case you could have just played the free game and sent them the 12 bucks a long time ago. lol

And I'll probably pick it up down the road Stuff to see the difference.
I just don't share everyone else's excitement over old games.

Re: Dead Space Extracted From Wii?

AlexSays

Well it's wider than the Wii's if that's what you're talking about.

The Wii has the second largest user base this gen.

Sure that gap is closing but if you factor in Wii owners lack of a proclivity for buying games the other market might always be bigger.

Re: Dead Space Extracted From Wii?

AlexSays

Nah it belongs on the HD consoles (oh and the PC! lol).

That's where it reviewed the best, that's where it sold the best, and that's where it was first introduced.

The Wii got a 'lite' version of the game to test its waters and it failed. Now the developers don't have to feel bad about enhancing the game and giving it to other people for a cheaper price.

I also agree with the laughing at Wii owners begging for exclusives. That and people saying 'oh but the Wii controls!'.

Oh and I hope everyone here realizes LittleBigPlanet is a Sony game. lol

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th February 2010 (North America)

AlexSays

Ezekiel - By the same guy that said he hated the concept?

Yeah if a guy said he hated FPS games and the best score he'd ever give one was a 5 I'm not sure people would care about his review of the new Call of Duty. lol

I like the concept so I'm guessing my view will be completely different.

Re: Dead Space Extracted From Wii?

AlexSays

Good. They need to make money somehow. Opening up a lemonade stand in front of the studio might have raked in as much cash as the Wii game.

And PS3/360 owners deserve to see the other part of the story. After all, it's their franchise. It belongs on those consoles.

Re: Reggie: No New Console Successor Anytime Soon

AlexSays

I hate it when I come here to say something and the person right above me just said it. lol

Yes, either way he would say there's no new hardware on its way. Nintendo could release a new console next week, and they'd deny it to keep selling consoles this week.

Re: Near Five Year Development Cycle for Zelda Wii?

AlexSays

I hope everyone realizes there are people that work on the handheld Zelda games and people that work on the console games.

Judging by some of these comments you'd think they had the same five guys locked in a room, constantly working on every Zelda game all at once.

Re: Wii Gamers Called Up for Modern Warfare

AlexSays

Oh Wario... You're more focused on going around, antagonizing certain users of this forum than you are actually discussing the subjects at hand.

You very well know the subject and point of my post, you'd just like to ignore that and talk about me.

Trust me, I am flattered. A couple of us users have already decided you have a weird way of showing affection.

Maybe we could go out for a quick lunch sometime and see how things go.

Re: Wii Gamers Called Up for Modern Warfare

AlexSays

I love how users start talking about my way of posting and not about the actual content of my post. lol

As long as you guys know Infinity Ward is not a poor developer, I couldn't care less about what you believe to be my political affiliation. lol

Re: Wii Gamers Called Up for Modern Warfare

AlexSays

Or is your constant negativity towards the Wii based on anything other than your IW (and next-gen yawn) fanboyism

Constant negativity... in the past two weeks?
... New users. lol

And pointing out Nintendo fanboyism makes me a fanboy of something else?
Nice logic you got thar!

Re: Wii Gamers Called Up for Modern Warfare

AlexSays

Maybe they should've handled the Wii port themselves then and made sure it doesn't suck.

Huh?
They don't want their software on the Wii at all.
There's no way they'd volunteer to strip their own game down.

1. Why didn't they come out with a Wii version at the same time?
2. Why isn't it the second one?

Oh! Oh! I know both of these!

1. Infinity Ward didn't want to make a Wii version. Activision couldn't start porting the game until after Infinity was finished.

2. Infinity Ward doesn't want to make their game for the Wii. Activision has to wait until they're finished before they can have some random developer slice and dice it for the Wii.

Re: Wii Gamers Called Up for Modern Warfare

AlexSays

Oh so Infinity Ward is releasing the actual game, and then years later Activision is stripping it down for Wii owners?

I feel sorry for Infinity Ward. They've never wanted their software to be dumbed down for the Wii.
