Re: High Voltage Games/YUKE'S Company of America Interview - Evasive Space

AlexSays

so does that explain!?
Not at all.
Gyrostarr was an okay game, some say good, but not anything fantastic.
VIP Casino was a mediocre game for a genre relatively easy to nail.

Their future games look good but that can be said for many developers.
To say they have single-handedly made the console amazing is nuttier than a Snickers.

At least wait until some of these good-looking games are released so we know they're not just eye-candy.
They haven't had that ONE game to push them to the next level.
It could be The Conduit but we'll have to wait a few months to find out.

Re: RealArcade Interview - Tiki Towers

AlexSays

"Tiki Towers and World of Goo are fundamentally different experiences and each provide a uniquely fun gaming experience. To begin with, the building experiences are different, and we think Tiki Towers is separated by more dynamic and realistic building mechanics."

So Tiki Towers has better physics than World of Goo?
Bold words Graham, you better back it up.
Unfortunately the graphics and art aren't anywhere near Goo so the game-play has to be great to even have a shot at being Goo-quality.

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (17th Dec)

AlexSays

Glad to see WOG do so well, especially since LostWInds and TOki Tori have both already fallen off!
Already?
They've been on the top of the list for about 9 months?
I'm sure the makers of both games are absolutely overwhelmed by their success.

Re: Club Nintendo Comes To North America

AlexSays

I'm 100.01% sure Nintendo is working on the site right now and will have it working sometime soon. Most likely within a couple days, if not tomorrow.

People just need to be patient.
You guys haven't had Club Nintendo for years now, so a couple more days won't kill you.
Especially when messing with your account while the site isn't working might cause problems in the future.

Re: Club Nintendo Comes To North America

AlexSays

And only VC titles released from October onwards give you coins, I believe Digital Champ is the oldest game to give some.
D'oh!

It takes 16 Wii Disc games to get one copy of G&WC.
Yeah I expected something like that.
Unfortunately I probably won't buy that many Nintendo games.

Re: Club Nintendo Comes To North America

AlexSays

So how many hundreds of dollars do you have to spend before having enough coins for Game and Watch?

Oh well.
It'll be nice to have coins but it'll be years before I have enough to buy anything.

Re: Neko Porting Two More Playstation 2 Titles To WiiWare

AlexSays

No. These are totally shovelware. This is the reason we don't see Cocoto games in the US.

BINGO!
Glad to know someone else doesn't jump all over just any new game announcement.
I know WiiWare is in a mild drought right now, but how anyone could be excited about shovelware being ported from the PS2 to WiiWare is beyond me.

Re: Neko Porting Two More Playstation 2 Titles To WiiWare

AlexSays

Oh COME ON.
Why would anyone in their right minds be excited about this?

LOOK at Neko's track record!
http://www.gamespot.com/search.html?tag=search%3Bbutton&qs=neko+entertainment

One of their games scored a 1.9!
None of their games have scored better than a 5.5 on Gamespot!
They make Bratz games!

That Cocoto Platformer has a user rating of 5.7 out of 2 votes!
http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/action/cocotoplatformjumper/index.html?tag=result;title;5

Puh leeze!
One more person says this stuff looks good and I might just lose it.

Re: Tiki Towers Lined Up For A Christmas WiiWare Launch

AlexSays

And what's happened to .x.supermario.x
I wish I knew.
I made fun of him once for liking that stupid "Let's Catch" game and he's been gone ever since.

As for the Monday before Christmas, at least we have one good game that week.
Fun! Fun! Mini-golf seems to be a bright spot in what otherwise is a WiiWare drought.

Re: Fun! Fun! Minigolf Wants To Be In Your Christmas Stocking!

AlexSays

It'll sell at least 1 Million copies
Not even close but it's nice to see those with high hopes.

As for me, I've loved this game since I first heard the name!
Nothing beats playing whatcouldbethe best WiiWare game to date RIGHT before Christmas.
I need something to play while waiting for people to give me stuff!

Re: Review: Hockey Allstar Shootout (WiiWare)

AlexSays

So there you have it... Corbie, you have now given out Wiiware's best and worst rating

I know us guys with the name Alex are nearly invisible (stems from the fact we're so sexy once people look they know they can't look away) but I'm almost 100% sure Corbie didn't review this one.

Re: Review: Hockey Allstar Shootout (WiiWare)

AlexSays

Oh for a couple o' reasons.

1.) Discourages developers from making games. Why would small indie-developers take a chance making a game when it could just get denied by Nintendo?

2.) People will complain. Just look at Disaster: Day of Crisis. Nintendo of America said the game wasn't worth 50 bucks and gamers across the continent were in an uproar.

3.) Bad games make good games look good. If every game got a 10 on this site, would the games be more noticeable? Heck no. No game would stand out and the service would fail. The industry needs bad games to help the good ones. If EVERYBODY released good games, nobody would make money as software would be divided evenly.

Bad games are great.
Maybe not to play, but they're still great.

Re: Review: Hockey Allstar Shootout (WiiWare)

AlexSays

Nintendo needs to go back to the days when they restricted bad games from being made for their systems

No they never did that.
So I'm not sure which Nintendo and what days you're referring to.
Nintendo knows quality control is a TERRIBLE idea which is why they'll never bite.

Re: Review: Hockey Allstar Shootout (WiiWare)

AlexSays

Equally as funny as this game is the people calling for quality control.
What in the world is wrong with you? lol
The internet would implode from unhappy Wii fans irate because they were looking forward to a game Nintendo deemed "not good enough".

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Bruiser & Scratch, Hockey Allstar Shootout

AlexSays

I love the way IGN quickly reviews the bigger name titles and just gets to the others whenever they feel like it.

Like every other site on the internet?

I'm not sure anybody said, "Hey guys, let's review that Madagascar game everyone's been talking about because Gears 2 can wait!"

Heck, even this site had the Tetris review up before the Incredible Maze.

Re: Swords & Soldiers Officially Delayed

AlexSays

No online.
Developers have already said it takes at least another six months to put in online.
This game is only being delayed three months and three months ago the developers of this game said No to online.

So no online.

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Space Invaders Get Even & Pit Crew Panic!

AlexSays

Also, what is it about SIGE being retail that bothers you.
No, it's that it's NOT retail which bothers me.
I would have gladly payed MORE money for a complete game at one price that comes in a box.

By the way, have you played pit crew yet?
No I haven't.
I've been too busy with Animal Crossing but I'm a huge supporter of Hudson so I'll likely give it a looksie sometime soon.

That doesn't show how good or bad EITHER game is.
In the sense one game is cute and cuddly and the other game is evil, yes.
I've had fun with bad games but that doesn't mean they're good.
A game chopped into pieces and fit on a service it doesn't belong isn't good.

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Space Invaders Get Even & Pit Crew Panic!

AlexSays

I hope you're being sarcastic. SIGE is the good one, not Pit Crew Panic.
No you're wrong.
One game is a complete title for the service and another is a retail game chopped into pieces and served with a delicious number of blocks.
There's only one good game this week and it's initials remind us all of Mario's day job.

Proposed to my gal, for one
My brother just proposed too.
Something about the winter must get people in the mood.

Re: Capcom: No Street Fighter II HD or Bionic Commando Rearmed for WiiWare

AlexSays

As for Twilight Princess...
Miyamoto said the game brought nothing new and said the next game needed some major change. lol
That gives me a pretty good idea he wasn't too impressed with the game and I completely agree.
Another game like Twilight Princess could be detrimental to the Zelda series.

Also Alex "so you're on of those people" Whoe's one of what people?
The people that love to hold on to old rumors because they can't accept the fact the rumors will never be true.
You know, the people that still think Nintendo is making a new Kid Icarus. (We have Matt CasaHowDoIStillHaveAJobMassina to thank for that one)
Yeah I hate those people.

Re: Capcom: No Street Fighter II HD or Bionic Commando Rearmed for WiiWare

AlexSays

Goldeneye is never coming to the Wii.
I'm not sure why people are still in denial about this.
When Microsoft AND Nintendo both say it will NEVER happen, that's a pretty good indication.
These people are in the same league as the people that think the government staged the moon landing.
Both are nuttier than a Snickers!

Oh, and yes I hated Twilight Princess.
You have a good idea about how bad a game is when the developer says the series needs to go in a "whole new direction". lol

Re: Capcom: No Street Fighter II HD or Bionic Commando Rearmed for WiiWare

AlexSays

jeez dude everytime you post a comment it seems you hate Nintendo more and more.
No I love Nintendo and I'm not stupid.
A combination I wish I shared with everyone.

See, these people claim they love Nintendo too. Only one problem...
They say graphics are important because that's why they bought a Wii.
Then they feel the need to list mediocre-looking games in an attempt to say the Wii can do good graphics.

I pick one stance and stick with it.
I say graphics don't matter and the Wii is the only true next-gen console.
That guy with the Call of Duty link says he loves Nintendo?
No he doesn't. He makes us ACTUAL Nintendo lovers look bad.
Stop making me look bad.

Re: Capcom: No Street Fighter II HD or Bionic Commando Rearmed for WiiWare

AlexSays

can i just draw everyone's attention to this little know game if you think wii can't do good gfx
So a multiplat that looks significantly worse than it's 360/PS3 counterparts is your way of saying the Wii can have good looking games?
Jeez, at least list Super Mario Galaxy or something.

All that game does is show how far the Wii is behind it's competitors when it comes to graphics.

Re: Capcom: No Street Fighter II HD or Bionic Commando Rearmed for WiiWare

AlexSays

That`d be the best thing ever if Nintendo would put Donkey Kong Country 4 on wiiware or even Super Mario World 3.

So it'd be great if Nintendo said WiiWare was all for the little guys and then released a bunch of big games stealing money from the little guys and discouraging independent developers from making games on the service?
We have different definitions of great, that's for sure.
