Very pleasant and uncomplicated game. I loved it's asthetics and feeling. But be aware - it is short! 2-3hours? max
I paid £1.22 for it which is the same as 2 cans of carling which last 10 minutes each
I bought bulbboy on recommendation and was quickly annoyed. I liked the aesthetic but quickly found myself stumped by a puzzle. A recurrent problem with the more ‘artful’ indie puzzle adventure games. What I could interact with wasn’t obvious or sometimes was unresponsive. It didn’t feel like I had misunderstood the puzzles more that the level design made it look like certain elements wouldn’t be interactive, or that two interactive elements where too close together for the touch screen. It didn’t feel like overcoming a puzzle, moreso poor design.
The tone of the game does make up for some of the shortcomings, but bulbboy does lack a lot of fun and innovation that other puzzle solving games have. Whilst animations are rewarding and original, after beating the game I found myself quickly forgetting it. 4/10
