Kraino Origins (Switch eShop)
£4.31 (-60%)
It may be over in the blink of an eye, but Kraino Origins proves itself to be a well-crafted and deeply enjoyable old-school action platformer while it lasts. There’s a little bit of Mega Man in here, a little more Castlevania, some Super Mario Bros. 3, but Kraino doesn’t feel overly derivative of such titles, largely because of its excellent level design.
With some excellent 8-bit pixel art, this is an affordable and brief entry in the neo-retro genre, and one that we would definitely recommend.
Lumines Remastered (Switch eShop)
£4.04 (-80%)
Subscribe to Nintendo Life on YouTube840k
Lumines Remastered is a luminary of the puzzle genre and feels perfectly at home on the Switch. Intense and immersive puzzle action, psychedelic visuals, a killer soundtrack, and a bevvy of content and modes make for a premier puzzle experience that should not be missed.
Lumines is an addictive experience that is positively a delight to play, and we would highly recommend it to both veterans and newcomers to the puzzle genre. There’s something here for everyone, and considering the relatively low price tag, Lumines Remastered is very much required playing for any Switch owner.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Switch)
£7.49 (-75%)
A common friend during the sales, if you somehow still don't own this, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a must-have for Switch-owning fans of turn-based tactical games. More importantly, such is the style and depth on offer that it's also ideal for those who haven't played much of the genre - for whom 'XCOM' sounds like a silly acronym from a war movie. Kingdom Battle and its excellent DK DLC introduce the concept in the best possible way, and then add their own ideas for what becomes a smart, surprising, and, at times, deliciously challenging experience.
Even if you don't actually like the Rabbids, this game — and its familiar Mario cast and setting — is so good that Ubisoft's mascots become likeable. Well, almost.

Mark of the Ninja: Remastered (Switch eShop)
£4.49 (-70%)
Mark of the Ninja: Remastered is an utterly stellar stealth game and it’s lost none of the magic that made the original such a critical darling. Strong art direction, an engaging story, well-paced open gameplay, and a slew of extra content all combine to make for a near-flawless experience that you certainly won’t want to miss out on.
We’d give this game a high recommendation to all Switch owners; it’s the best stealth game money can buy in the Switch library, and one of the best ones in any console library.
Metro 2033 Redux (Switch eShop)
£3.19 (-80%)
Metro 2033 Redux is a top-class first-person shooter/survival horror game, a breathless experience that's been almost flawlessly ported to Switch by 4A Games.
Artyom's desperate, haunting voyage through the irradiated remains of Moscow is every bit as engaging today as it was back in 2010, and this Redux version benefits massively from overhauled AI, gameplay mechanics and visuals. In terms of first-person shooters or survival horror games on Nintendo's console, this is one of the very best.
Metro Redux (Switch)
£4.79 (-80%)
Metro Redux is a top-notch first-person survival horror package that delivers countless hours of thrilling stealth combat all wrapped up in a superb story. These are two of the most atmospheric games you'll likely play set in a beautifully detailed depiction of post-apocalyptic Russia.
4A Games has delivered a port that stands shoulder to shoulder with Alien: Isolation as the very best we've seen on Switch so far – an almost flawless experience which should absolutely be right at the top of any FPS or survival horror fan's must-buy list. This is essential stuff.
Metroid Prime Remastered (Switch)
£26.19 (-25%)
With Metroid Prime Remastered, the seemingly impossible was achieved: a masterpiece was made even better.
The minor issues we have with the motion controls and the occasional visual hiccup pale in comparison to the enhancements that have been made here. The visual improvements are extensive, right through to the tiny details, and it all comes together to create one of the best-looking games on Switch, remaster or not.
The new twin-stick control setup works flawlessly for both veterans and newcomers, too, but if you're itching to go back to the original GameCube controls, that option is there. With an expanded gallery feature to round things out, Metroid Prime Remastered feels like a new benchmark in how older games can be thoughtfully revitalised for the modern age.
Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight (Switch eShop)
£5.03 (-60%)
The only minor criticism comes from the soundtrack which, while not bad, isn’t memorable and doesn’t always match the fantastic art.
Overall, however, Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight is a stunningly well-presented platformer with some of the most intuitive controls in the genre. A superb game and a credit to the indie scene.
Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak Deluxe
£16.79 (-72%)
New mechanics, monsters, and a gorgeous setting meant that Monster Hunter Rise set a new standard for the franchise.
The Wirebug, Switch Skills, Palamute, and carefully thought-out monsters shook things up enough to make the game feel fresh for hunters who had previously spent thousands of hours with the series, and while the package can be slightly intimidating for newcomers, it's arguably the ideal place to get started if you're serious about getting into monster hunting. And with a peerless four-player multiplayer experience, the Rampage quests are a blast.
Monster Hunter Rise is one of the strongest entries into the series, then, and another stone-cold classic for Switch. Plus this deal includes the Sunbreak DLC.
Neva (Switch eShop)
£12.59 (-30%)
Neva is a spectacular example of art in motion, delivering a thoroughly engrossing platforming experience that’ll stick in your mind long after you’ve rolled credits. The incredible visuals, moving soundtrack, satisfying gameplay, and surprisingly touching story all come together to make for a game that shouldn’t miss.
A few frame drops aside, if you’re looking for a new addition to your library that’ll give you something to savour rather than just consume, look no further than Neva.
Nomada's predecessor, Gris, is also on sale for dirt cheap this Summer. You can't go wrong with either, or both.
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (Switch)
£7.99 (-84%)
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is an excellent action-RPG that's arrived on Switch in a fantastic, feature-packed port. Evan and Roland's antics across this game's sprawling world are stuffed full of great characters, exciting combat and adventuring, and a kingdom-building mechanic that's a delight to get to grips with.
It looks and sounds every bit as good as its predecessor and, although the story might be a little more hit-and-miss here, we were completely hooked into this one from beginning to end. This is a sumptuously crafted adventure you won't regret diving into.
Night In The Woods (Switch eShop)
£8.54 (-50%)
Less of a game, and more of an interactive story with some light platforming and exploring to tie it all together, Night In The Woods is one of the most rewarding experiences you can play on Switch.
An indie curio better played for yourself than described by us, it will no doubt leave an impression with its enchanting soundtrack, disarming story, and instantly identifiable character arcs. Strange and wonderful in equal measure.
It should be noted that the controversy surrounding its troubled co-designer, including historical allegations of abuse prior to his passing, may affect your opinion and influence a purchase decision. As always, it's up to individuals to determine if they still wish to support a game, developer, publisher, or platform holder given the available information and wider context.
No Man's Sky (Switch)
£15.99 (-60%)
No Man's Sky on Switch is a fantastic port of a game we genuinely didn't believe could make the transition to Nintendo's console without some serious technical issues.
Hello Games has made the necessary cutbacks and downgrades to get this intergalactic survival sandbox playing at a super solid frame rate and the colourful, chunky graphical style here ensures that it all still looks pretty fantastic to boot. With all of the game's previous updates and content included — barring multiplayer at this point — and a plethora of customisation options courtesy of the massive Waypoint update, which arrived soon after release, this is an easy recommendation for survival fans and an impressive Switch port.
Plus, you get a free upgrade on Switch 2 to make it even better.

Fell Seal is also on sale, a nice indie TRPG.
Nice to see such a sale also in Europe at last, happy for those going for any of these games thanks to it (maybe me included although we'll see - there are some recent physical releases such as Patapon for example that I'd like to get first and foremost)!
Ah, another opportunity to put some weight to my backlog
I wish I could play 1000xRESIST again for the first time.
A lot on sale, even physical, which is nice. I might splash some dough for Persona 5 Strikers and hopefully Pikmin 4 will stay at its currently reduced price of € 40 until friday, when my payday is.
The only game(s) I am waiting to be discounted atm are the famicom detective games. Might never happen...
@AlanaHagues Trails from Zero is 30% off, not 80%.
112 games I should pick up. Steady on NL, that's a lot of £ and backlog. I like your ambition though 👍
I picked up Deadcraft for £3.99. Really enjoying it
I'd like to get Botany Manor, but annoyingly it's still incompatible with the Switch 2.
I already picked up Bioshock and Slime Rancher over the past couple of weeks.
I'm glad I did also pick up a discounted £50 eshop voucher a week or two ago as I have also just purchased:
Pepper Grinder
Penny's Big Breakaway
Trifox
I'm also considering the Batman Trilogy, with Nintendo themselves pointing out Knight as one not working as intended, and Beyond Good & Evil.
Considering I am sinking time into DK, I'm not sure why I'm increasing my backlog 😅
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is worth every penny (even at full price)!
No Bomb Rush Cyberfunk £17.99 (-50%) or Shin Chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation £16.99(-50%)?
Latter is the lowest it's ever been priced at!
I've never understood why people fawn over Kaze and the Wild Masks. It's really not great.
@Markatron84 it's the 2D Crash Bandicoot I haven't had since the GBA
Nice! America already had its eShop summer sale, so of course Europe should get one too!
No thanks, give me a physical summer sale and I would be interested
Still waiting for 33% off Super Mario Odyssey and New Pokemon Snap. Don’t know why they aren’t included. I could only get a 25% discount off Splatoon 3.
Not this time. Not just The Trip™ - Kanda hotel is ⅔ paid for, but there's others in Osaka & Nara to cover yet, plus a JR rail pass and eSim - but that Waterfield magnetic case is also giving me the eye, and Critical Role have announced they are doing two live shows here next year: The O₂ and Edinburgh Castle. They won't be cheap, no sir.
I was about to go off in the comments for Mark of the Ninja being called "the best stealth game money can buy on the eShop," when almost the entire Metal Gear Solid series is right there in front of you, but....
No, you know what? I'm still going to! How dare you call mark of the ninja the best stealth game on the eShop??
Jk luv ya 💕
@Jack_Goetz 1000 x that good? Not seen anything on it but i see its reviewed well across the board. Im tempted.
@Kidfunkadelic83 I loved it. It's more of a visual novel than anything, though it has some interactive sections, dialogue branches, different endings, etc. The story is very much the central focus, but it's hell of a story.
@Jack_Goetz always loved the idea of visual novels but i find i get bored of them. This may be ok tho if theres some interaction and choices too. I might take a punt for that price. Cheers.
do not buy prodeus, those ******** have locked behind the online paid system the entire custom map systems you are obligated to have the Nintendo membership not just for the active online MP part but even to download the offline custom maps cutting off 90% of the game including any custom campaigns this is not reported in any point of the e-shop page!! i was so enrage!!!!
@Kidfunkadelic83 I'm with you on that, but I never got bored with 1000xRESIST, fortunately. I would try avoid reviews though, especially the one on this site, as it's a bit 'spoiler-y'.
@Whirlwound Not on topic at all, but a few years ago the JR Rail Pass got a dramatic price hike and is VERY rarely worth the money. You'd have to use it so much that you'd spend most of your trip on the Shinkansen.
Sometimes it's usable on local trains, but it's far from a given.
@Jack_Goetz iwill be sure to. Appreciate your time 🙏
@Filthy Yeah, it didn’t go up for years then made up for a lot of lost time.
Looking at the stuff we’re doing in the middle week, it should work out; the second half is a bit fluid depending on when/if we can get tickets for Ghibli Park and the Nintendo Museum.
Just got into Monster Train 2 but I guess mayhaps Astral Ascent is worth it?
@Whirlwound All good then! I just see so many people who are unaware that it’s rare for the Rail Pass to be worth it nowadays.
Do enjoy the trip!
Might get Catherine if the port is that good, never played it and always been curious.
I'm moving to Europe
The Bioshock games look really good on Switch 2. Somewhere like NintendoLife need to put together a list of games that have variable resolutions and as a result automatically look better on the Switch 2.
Might pick up Balatro
At what time and date sale exactly ends?!
So on my eshop (Europe) it says that Witcher 3 is 100% off...
Would've gotten Xenoblade X remaster if it was on sale, oh well.
On one hand, really helpful article. On the other, nightmare to read through.
No Switch 2 seperation, just one long alphabetical list over multiple pages with review excerpts mandatory instead of viewable at a click in a pane.
112 games ??? Are you buying for everyone NintendoLife ???
If anyone wants to try to match or beat AI, ChatGPT said the character in the middle photo posted in the article is “definitely” Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere. Does anyone know if that’s true?
@kmtrain83 Lol no it's Melia from Xenoblade.
Picked up Little Nightmares 2 for about £2.50.
Not featured here but that seemed like a much larger discount than I had seen before.
I'll take another look before the sale ends.
