They announced it at the same time as last week, and it's gonna be at the same time as last week. Should've known.

Anyone who’s mad about the direct being canceled is stupid. I mean its ok to be kinda annoyed, but not at nintendo. All we had to do was wait a week longer, right?

It’s kinda amusing how it was delayed for an earthquake and rescheduled just in time for a hurricane.

Makes sense. We'll watch it even though I think half of it will be already known but hoping for a good single player mode in SSBU. Unless the new issue of Famitsu spoils that too.

I heard that simphony of the night coming to switch will be revealed. Fingers crossed for metroid prime trilogy too and really really hoping for GTA V

Interesting that there is no mention of release time periods. Normally they say up front they are focusing on things coming "later this year" /in the next 3-6 months.

Maybe we will get some teases for big games earlier in development?

Looking forward to seeing what 'spirits' is and hopefully some Fire Emblem goodness regardless.

I've resigned myself to online not being much, so would be nice if there was something good to come from that too. Will we ever get Switch rewards on MyNintendo? We were waiting for Switch Online to kickstart some goodness on MyNintendo. I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'm still a little disappointed in Nintendo. Hokkaido deserved respect, but NC doesn't, apparently. Airing as scheduled despite disasters was one thing. Delaying for one disaster but not another is another thing. I know Nintendo does the whole "Japan=Earth" thing, but given the scale, it's not exactly an every week occurrence to have disasters of this magnitude.

That aside I'm looking forward to what they have to announce, and honestly, I'd say I'm anxious to find out the details of the Online, but I know there probably are no meaningful details beyond what we know, and they've been stringing us along for a year and a half. If they allow me to play my digital games on "non primary" hardware I'll forgive them.

@quinnyboy58 Nintendo operates in 3 major territories: Japan, NA, EU/UK, with peripheral operations everywhere else. It's not exactly every week historic magnitude disasters strike one of these locations. It just happens these two are exactly a week apart. Not not every week that that level of disaster happens anywhere in the world. If you're going to delay for some and not others, it's probably best to not delay at all for any of them and do things as scheduled.

Ouch. Hopefully I'll still be able to watch it.

Hopefully there'll still be a healthy dose of new stuff, what with stuff like the Final Fantasies and Pokemon stuff getting revealed during the delay.

Nintendo have a real chance to set the switch up for the holiday period and beyond if they're smart, clip of metroid, mario dlc and a hint of animal crossing will get folk excited and shift a few systems coming up to Xmas. Having said that I fully expect to be disappointed and be shown smash for 35 mins

@javman05 I think between Smash and Pokemon, Nintendo doesn't need any more help shifting systems this holiday season. That being said, we do need a better idea of what 2019 is going to look like. (Though I doubt we'll get anything substantial with this upcoming direct. I don't think we'll see any of Metroid until next e3).

@PorllM Well, I expected the Direct to happen sooner (originally expected the announcement to come on Monday) but I was sure about the time of day. ;D

I suspect the Direct will not be changed. What I`m hoping is something on the lines of a nice discount for select titles because we were so nice to wait for a week, maybe even the profit going to the people affected by the earthquake? It doesn`t hurt to dream...

When Nintendo gets me hyped with a Direct, It is usually disappointing. When I do not expect anything, it is usually awesome. I expect a lot from Nintendo tomorrow. I guess I am going to be disappointed.

Outrun already confirmed anything else is just gravy.

This is great news! All of those people whose lives were destroyed because they wouldn’t get to see it last week are ok now! Who cares about what happened in Japan, right?

It’s almost cruel how Nature likes to screw with us... Last week a huge typhoon and earthquake, this week a hurricane... (and still some people are bullheaded enough to keep saying that climate change isn’t a thing)

After a reschedule from a disaster, I don’t see Nintendo doing it again no matter what, even if a second earthquake were to hit Japan today again. That would really negatively impact their financial plans for the rest of the year so even if the sky starts falling down we’ll get our Direct no matter what. Sigh...

IMO Nintendo Online should be delayed for two major reasons:

1. Insert cloud saves for Splatoon 2. Savescumming does NOT exist, you paranoid schizos. Get over it.

2. PERMABAN THE TRYHARDS, CHEATERS THAT AUTOAIM AND HACK EVERYTHING FROM THEIR SCORE TO THEIR GEAR WITH A BETTER ANTI-CHEAT IMPLEMENTATION THAN THE CURRENT GARBAGE ONE. This is a MAJOR problem, even with the prominent folks who do this.

Honestly all I want is Super Mario Maker 2 (with slopes!), nothing else, but alas I think that is not gonna happen, I'm guessing it will be 30mins dedicated to the online service

I'll be checking (the highlights of) it out, later on in the evening. I have to be elsewhere.

When the first rumours of Metroid Prime Trilogy HD for Switch surfaced it was easy to ignore them. Now however they have gained more and more traction they are becoming increasingly hard to write off. Of course I do know that this now means I will likely be disappointed tonight.
