Pikachupwnage commented on Review: Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden (3DS):

@MrSeitaro THIS. Only indie fighting games can really get any sort of pass for this at all because they might not have the resources. Even than its a big knock against the game....

But Namco Bandai is a long lived large company and dragonball is a big series so it is rather shameful.

I have a brother who is also a Zelda fan and my best friend is a huge Zelda fan.

Gonna get us together to play this. It's gonna be great. Download play being so generous is great as I don't have to buy my poor college bro a copy now

But yeah I don't think this will be as good as ALBW. That game was freakin amazing. It ranks up their with the likes of Majoras Mask.

This looks pretty cool.

Not bad at all for 3 months work with a small teams. Excited for the final product. We really need more 3D platformers. Nobody makes any aside from Nintendo(and thats just Mario) and a handful of indies(Gears for breakfest) Oh and Sonic does 3D games I guess but those usually get mixed to negative reception from everyone...colors being pretty much the only exception

Its all retro 2D Platformers, runners and crap everywhere. That being said a few devs really nail the 2D formula and are totally welcome to continue(Yacht Club games and Pixel for example)

Ripstone Creative Director - Phil Gaskell:
"It's always exciting to hear about middleware reaching new platforms as it immediately makes me think what games can Ripstone bring to those platforms, and how can the hardware compliment the game experience. In the case of Unity supporting the New Nintendo 3DS we have at least 5 games I would immediately want to start working on bringing to the platform."

That sounds rather explicit to me,

Pikachupwnage commented on Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2015:

"a lot quieter with regards to the 3DS. If it wasn't for a hugely exciting Nintendo Direct reveal in November last year it'd be truly lacking"

SMDH. With a console like 3DS that gets primarily japanese supoort you gotta look at likely localizations.

Games confirmed but not listed here(should've had an honorable mentions listing more games)

Hatsune Miku Project Mirai Mix
Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker
Etrian Mystery Dungeon
Mighty No 9
Mutant Mudds 2
Yokai Watch

Likely for localization

Forbidden Magna(Xseed registered a web domain with a very similar name recently and expressed interest in localizing it in the past)
Final Fantasy Explorers
Little Battlers experience(teased by Level-5)
Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 Knight of Fafnir(its Etrian odyssey. Every single one has been localized thus far and Altus in general localizes almost everything they make.)
Senran Kagura 2(Xseed said the first one sold within expectations and if the spinoffs are coming over as well I doubt they will pass over the main series)

Also SmileBasic is an app not a game, Should've put Record breaker or something in its place.

Pikachupwnage commented on Former Criterion Boss Alex Ward Laments Issues...:

It's absurd to expect Nintendo to market a late port of this sort of game. Its always the third parties/publishers job to advertise their game unless Nintendo is the one publishing it.

Nintendo should've shown it in a direct though but if he wanted them to find TV

Pikachupwnage commented on Watch_Dogs Delayed Again on Wii U, Will Arrive...:

How can third parties possibly expect any sort of success if virtually every game gets screwed over somehow on Wii U? Whether its missing features like call of duty(clans DLC etc.) releasing a far superior package on other systems(mass effect 3...and they announced mass effect trilogy for PS360 before this even hit shelves) simply doing a bad job porting(various ports/multiplats) leave out online(sniper V2) or release it well after other versions(Need for speed) delay it(Rayman Legends) yearly releases lacking some of the updates on other versions(madden)or other doesn't exactly give consumers much confidence. Especially when companies like EA pledge "Unprecedented" support and deliver lackluster launch ports and backpedal.

Pikachupwnage commented on Sonic Lost World Sales Reached 640,000 in 2013:

1. Mediocre critical reception
2. Sonic has a history of very low sales in Japan at least in modern times
3. Sonic games have good legs(hehehe) so it should rack up quite a few more before things are said and done especially if Sega uses sales to push digital copies when it starts running out of gas.

These are fine numbers. Not a mind blowing success but definitely not a flop either.

Pikachupwnage commented on Soapbox: A Monster Hunter Obsession, and Why t...:

3U sold over 224K copies at retial alone. Digtal sales were good as well as it spent a bit of time in top 20 charts after release and its been on sale several times and always rockets back into the charts and high up in them whenever.

Wii U is 93K.

It had a farily strong Internet marketing campaign with adds, and strong encouragement of lets plays but a good TV ad could do wonders. I hope Capcom and Nintendo Push 4U HARD!

Pikachupwnage commented on Feature: Nintendo Games Our Readers Would Love...:

My Wishlist for new games this year that aren't extremely far fetched(I think Metroid is coming but it won't be this year. Same with Zelda)

Advance wars
Majoras Mask 3D
Tomodachi collection (localization)
Fossil fighters(Localization)
New original Gamefreak game(Digital)
Monolith Soft's unannounced 3DS game.

Combined with Kirby, Smash, Chibi-Robo, Mario Golf and Yoshi that are already confirmed this would be a solid year

Wii U

Super Mario Sunshine HD
Pokken Fighters
Miyamoto's New IP
Star Fox
Paper Mario

With Smash, Hyrule Warriors DK, Mario kart, and possibly X, Yoshi, and SMT X FE this would be a rock solid year.

Just going to point out this does not include digital sales. Monster hunter 4 has sold more then 400K copies digitally.

4 was at 2.8 million by September 31st. As of then using media create charts we can see it had sold just over 2.4 million by then. Thus it sold about 400K digital copies to be able to sell that number. According to this wedensday's media create(this is a copy pasta from a post I made on the 21st if November so you are going to have to go back several weeks for this actually) it has sold just above 2.93 million copies. Thus adding in digital sales we get a figure of about 3.33 million copies plus whatever amount of digital copies have been sold since.

Also as a sidenote monster hunter 4 is looking likely to become the best selling monster hunter ever. Currently it is at over 3.33 million compared to freedom 3 at 4.8 million. With the solid legs it has(and a holiday season to give it a boost in japan) as well as an upcoming Korean release and a very likely US/European release given the success of could very likely surpass freedom 3.
