@SuperMarioFan1995 I think although that the others are all perfect classics, I actually prefer Twilight Princess - I think I like the dark, melancholy atmosphere and the fact I spent 60+ hours messing about before I even tackled the 3rd Dungeon by going after Poes, bugs and heart containers / pieces =0p

@Liam_Doolan I know, hence the smiley face / troll comment, but perhaps should have stopped there dude! ^_^ I guess we can all look forward to Sakurai making games for Microsoft / Sony now as Nintendo literally broke his hand during Smash Bros. development for not having a Subspace Emissary follow up.

@Peach64 Personally I will be slightly disappointed if they announce a new Animal Crossing for the Wii U... it just doesn't sit well with me and I'd prefer a portable version. The Wii effort was poor and didn't really push the series forward, unlike the 3DS which was incredible. I still feel there's a lot of life left in the current version and it really doesn't feel long ago since it hit our shelves. All the rest of the possibilities are exciting though!!! Eeeeeep so can't wait!!!

I think we can expect some new DLC for Mario Kart 8 (perhaps Diddy Kong and a few other Ninty favourites like Kid Icarus?), a collection encompassing all of Miyamoto's new games that utilise the gamepad, F-Zero announcement along with a new Metroid, a few new surprise 3DS games, including an update on Bravely Default Second and a wad of new titles for the Virtual Console that will be available (Direct to you!) after the presentation.

minor spoiler for first entry I didn't get round to playing the second one as I got to a point in the first where I was missing one of the Djinn, and if I were to take the boat to the next chapter in the game, I could not come back =0(

This was my favourite Mario Kart game after the N64 version. Whereas the N64 had superior multiplayer, MK on the GBA posed a great challenge alone as you had to finish each course with a certain amount of coins (as well as avoiding collisions and placing in first of course) in order to achieve the highest rank. I will probably stick to the 3DS version though as a lot of these titles were not intended to be blown up for use on 40" screens etc so I can see why Nintendolife are in favour of the smaller screen.

Capcom's name, to me at least, is no longer synonymous with quality and fun as it used to be. Sure, they still can make great games, but I fear their reputation has taken a tumble with a few stinky sequels and the DLC handling. Hopefully they will re-kindle the love from fans with some new IPs, a fresh Street Fighter experience and maybe a few nods and winks to the good old days of Ghost n Goblins

@Laxeybobby - I feel your pain fellow IOM resident. I tend to buy all my games online these days, but it's nice to browse. Even when stores would dedicate shelf space to Ninty there was never enough of the top titles - I blame suppliers like Koch Media as I know from past experience they have been quite slow and rubbish in the past with regards to stock. The other obvious problem is that the in store prices are not really competitive with the online prices.

I have to say I'm not keen on 'fan service' games / Anime (the likes of Highschool of the Dead / Ikki Tousen make me cringe), but I have to say this game is actually quite fun for a button mashing, Streets of Rage-esque brawler. Yes, sex sells: the risque nature of the game and good advertising paid off, but thankfully it's no worse than playing a Dead or Alive game and it puts the gameplay first. The developers released Tekken's main competitor on the PS1 years ago, Battle Arena Toshiden, so they have a good history of fighting mechanics. Give it a go I say!

Sorry if anyone else has mentioned on this thread buuuut.... has anyone been having difficulty getting Streetpass Hits and saving on Animal Crossing? In order to get Streetpass hits I've had to be away from any known / saved WiFi spots and I've had to turn off the Wireless functions on AC in order to process the save. Weird huh?

Just to point out I think the Wii U is amazing and it's certainly the right console for me. I never doubt Nintendo but I doubt the majority of consumers will learn to care about thew Wii U unless 2014 is able to turn the support up to 11 ^_^ Smash Bros & Mario Kart will be system sellers!

Remember folks, it's just his opinion. Comments from a former Developer from a defunct studio eh? It's a bit like the ramblings from an intoxicated homeless man talking about brain surgery. There still will be a fully supported Wii U in 12 months, heck even 36 months, but I would imagine the life cycle may fall short of expectations and that Nintendo will amaze us with a successor - something mass-market appealing in the 4th or 5th year.

I'm no FBI profile specialist, but this guy strikes me as someone wanting attention (& medical help) in his vain attempt to be an Anonymous-esque revolt leader. Hoping the news and threats have not caused too much disruption and stress at Nintendo HQ and for their families and friends. Always reassuring to know that the Authorities act quickly and decisively.

Hopefully there will be more emphasis on costume swapping in the new Smash Bros. so we can chose between Marth / Lucina. Be great to switch between classic Mario, Mario from the Sunshine / Isle Delfino & Dr. Mario for example.

@Sionyn - no cosumer law applies as far as I'm aware - they can retract their offer or amend it as Game has not mentioned it when pre-ordering it through their website - there has to be offer and acceptance for a legal transaction to take place and seeing as Game hasn't offered it, we can't have it =0p Let's wait and see what happens with regards to bonus offers etc

sikthvash commented on Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?:

Very interesting results... I'm surprised by the number of people saying 'it's not my thing' when there is so much more to it than the usual violence, swearing and story. Thought the sandbox element bridges the gap between the casual and hardcore experiences - I can totally understand if the adult content is a far cry from the family experience associated with Nintendo games and it can put potential people off from playing it. To be honest I'd love to see it on Wii U just for Third Party Support if nothing else. Oh and if I had to choose I'd choose Mario / Zelda / Kirby games in a heartbeat over any OTT action / shooter =0p

Streetpass Battle is kind of like a very basic Fire Emblem-esque game but there is no grid to move around with or deep customisation involved. Battle events are structured around Rock Paper Scissors and involves a little bit of skill but mainly luck. It's satisfying though. It's worth noting that you get a free ticket / coupon to use in the Exchange Booth from this game which can be used to purchase hats - I also got an additional one for free for using it for the first time. I don't want to say any more really as I don't want to spoil anything ^_^

StreetPass Mansion is my favourite so far. It's kind of like Streetpass Quest where you build each floor of the mansion by acquiring Tetris shaped pieces gathered from Streetpass people. There's items and secrets to find too! Battling foes is real time rather than turn based but there is strategy involved as you will need to watch you don't deplete your batteries (power source for first weapon) and take time to use items and shield yourself from attacks. StreetPass Garden is prob my least favourite but I'm not saying it's bad it's just different from the rest really.

@heathenmagic
Fire Emblem DLC is / was indeed an essential purchase!
I think the bundle is a good deal - I use Streetpass on a daily basis. Luckily for me, I have a Sister and Girlfriend who are both as crazy for Nintendo stuff as me heh ^_^ I seem to be getting more hits recently too so I think a lot more people now own 3DSs after the free game promotion and awesome line-up of games

sikthvash commented on HMV Buyout Saves High Street Retailer:

I have to say, prices in Game have got a lot better and their website deals are much better than they were. Just need to work on their delivery / customer service now!
Hopefully HMV can re-kindle good relationships with suppliers and regain some good credit terms. Loyalty schemes need to re-introduced and fleshed out and they need to get into bed with a good digital streaming service that people will actually use.
Hard times are ahead, but I wish the staff and management teams the best of luck for the future.
