Capcom's name, to me at least, is no longer synonymous with quality and fun as it used to be. Sure, they still can make great games, but I fear their reputation has taken a tumble with a few stinky sequels and the DLC handling. Hopefully they will re-kindle the love from fans with some new IPs, a fresh Street Fighter experience and maybe a few nods and winks to the good old days of Ghost n Goblins

@Laxeybobby - I feel your pain fellow IOM resident. I tend to buy all my games online these days, but it's nice to browse. Even when stores would dedicate shelf space to Ninty there was never enough of the top titles - I blame suppliers like Koch Media as I know from past experience they have been quite slow and rubbish in the past with regards to stock. The other obvious problem is that the in store prices are not really competitive with the online prices.

I have to say I'm not keen on 'fan service' games / Anime (the likes of Highschool of the Dead / Ikki Tousen make me cringe), but I have to say this game is actually quite fun for a button mashing, Streets of Rage-esque brawler. Yes, sex sells: the risque nature of the game and good advertising paid off, but thankfully it's no worse than playing a Dead or Alive game and it puts the gameplay first. The developers released Tekken's main competitor on the PS1 years ago, Battle Arena Toshiden, so they have a good history of fighting mechanics. Give it a go I say!

Sorry if anyone else has mentioned on this thread buuuut.... has anyone been having difficulty getting Streetpass Hits and saving on Animal Crossing? In order to get Streetpass hits I've had to be away from any known / saved WiFi spots and I've had to turn off the Wireless functions on AC in order to process the save. Weird huh?

Just to point out I think the Wii U is amazing and it's certainly the right console for me. I never doubt Nintendo but I doubt the majority of consumers will learn to care about thew Wii U unless 2014 is able to turn the support up to 11 ^_^ Smash Bros & Mario Kart will be system sellers!

Remember folks, it's just his opinion. Comments from a former Developer from a defunct studio eh? It's a bit like the ramblings from an intoxicated homeless man talking about brain surgery. There still will be a fully supported Wii U in 12 months, heck even 36 months, but I would imagine the life cycle may fall short of expectations and that Nintendo will amaze us with a successor - something mass-market appealing in the 4th or 5th year.

I'm no FBI profile specialist, but this guy strikes me as someone wanting attention (& medical help) in his vain attempt to be an Anonymous-esque revolt leader. Hoping the news and threats have not caused too much disruption and stress at Nintendo HQ and for their families and friends. Always reassuring to know that the Authorities act quickly and decisively.

Hopefully there will be more emphasis on costume swapping in the new Smash Bros. so we can chose between Marth / Lucina. Be great to switch between classic Mario, Mario from the Sunshine / Isle Delfino & Dr. Mario for example.

opens post yeyeeee! My copy of the Deadly Six Edition arrived too!! Thank you Shopto! Really enjoyed Sonic Generations (albeit the boss battles were very poor) - this is looking to tick all the boxes for me! Planning to revisit Sonic 3 & Knuckles shortly too! - nice interview by the way

@Sionyn - no cosumer law applies as far as I'm aware - they can retract their offer or amend it as Game has not mentioned it when pre-ordering it through their website - there has to be offer and acceptance for a legal transaction to take place and seeing as Game hasn't offered it, we can't have it =0p Let's wait and see what happens with regards to bonus offers etc

sikthvash commented on Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?:

Very interesting results... I'm surprised by the number of people saying 'it's not my thing' when there is so much more to it than the usual violence, swearing and story. Thought the sandbox element bridges the gap between the casual and hardcore experiences - I can totally understand if the adult content is a far cry from the family experience associated with Nintendo games and it can put potential people off from playing it. To be honest I'd love to see it on Wii U just for Third Party Support if nothing else. Oh and if I had to choose I'd choose Mario / Zelda / Kirby games in a heartbeat over any OTT action / shooter =0p

Streetpass Battle is kind of like a very basic Fire Emblem-esque game but there is no grid to move around with or deep customisation involved. Battle events are structured around Rock Paper Scissors and involves a little bit of skill but mainly luck. It's satisfying though. It's worth noting that you get a free ticket / coupon to use in the Exchange Booth from this game which can be used to purchase hats - I also got an additional one for free for using it for the first time. I don't want to say any more really as I don't want to spoil anything ^_^

StreetPass Mansion is my favourite so far. It's kind of like Streetpass Quest where you build each floor of the mansion by acquiring Tetris shaped pieces gathered from Streetpass people. There's items and secrets to find too! Battling foes is real time rather than turn based but there is strategy involved as you will need to watch you don't deplete your batteries (power source for first weapon) and take time to use items and shield yourself from attacks. StreetPass Garden is prob my least favourite but I'm not saying it's bad it's just different from the rest really.

@heathenmagic
Fire Emblem DLC is / was indeed an essential purchase!
I think the bundle is a good deal - I use Streetpass on a daily basis. Luckily for me, I have a Sister and Girlfriend who are both as crazy for Nintendo stuff as me heh ^_^ I seem to be getting more hits recently too so I think a lot more people now own 3DSs after the free game promotion and awesome line-up of games

sikthvash commented on HMV Buyout Saves High Street Retailer:

I have to say, prices in Game have got a lot better and their website deals are much better than they were. Just need to work on their delivery / customer service now!
Hopefully HMV can re-kindle good relationships with suppliers and regain some good credit terms. Loyalty schemes need to re-introduced and fleshed out and they need to get into bed with a good digital streaming service that people will actually use.
Hard times are ahead, but I wish the staff and management teams the best of luck for the future.

sikthvash commented on Developer Interview: ZombiU Producer Talks Abo...:

I too was worried when I saw the reviews - In particular, IGN's score and gameplay analysis had me question my first game purchase for the Wii U. All that faded away when I took it out of the box and played. I've played scary atmospheric games aplenty (including the likes of Amnesia on the PC) and I have to say that Zombii U is up there with the best. Sure there are a few niggling bits in the gameplay, but it's a survival horror - not a shooter, not a RPG, not a an epic sci-fi with a Hollywood budget. To be honest I think the graphics are great and that's coming from someone that has a beast PC to play Farcry 3 on. Melee combat is not that bad at all and the grunts and yells from your character are certainly not enough to be painful for the ear. I think Ubisoft have come up with an epic game in this day where repetitive COD-esque games have become the staple diet of hardcore gamers. To all those wanting full on shooting please look elsewhere. Ask yourselves this: do you want scares? do you want atmosphere? want the game closest to ever living in a zombie apocalypse without all the unnecessary level grinding and stupid fetch quests (yes I'm looking at you Dead Island)? Look no further.... give it a go....

sikthvash commented on New Super Mario Bros. 2 Trailer is Informative:

I wonder if we're going to get a bunch of new mini games like the last NSMB on the DS? It will be interesting to see how Nintendo plan to keep this title's longevity as DLC content would be good (even better if you could use the in game coins as the currency to unlock bonuses and extra stuff)

sikthvash commented on GAME Enters Administration, Closes 277 Stores:

Sad news for employees and customers of Game... I hope they will find a way back in to the online retail at the very least but the gaming industry really needs a presence on the high street to push sales of consoles and top IPs from publishers / developers. Our Isle of Man store is still open for business but I fear the worst... I'm glad I have Shopto to rely on but I will miss browsing & picking up in store exclusive bargains and seraching for decent second hand games

sikthvash commented on Sonic 4: Episode II Teaser Trailer Due Tomorrow:

Please Sonic Team... some decent level design for this one! Episode 1 was terrible - you'd be encouraged to build up speed and then punished for doing so for speeding off the edge to your doom in many cases making it very much trial & error for most of the levels. End bosses section was lazy too. I want something resembling Sonic 3 & Knuckles pleases!!
