If you are a Nintendo Switch owner, you might well have been enjoying Splatoon 2 since its launch last year. Playing through the single-player campaign or testing your skills out in some online matches is a great way to build up your Inkling, but what do the Splatoon themed amiibo do within the game?

You can, of course, use both the new Splatoon 2 amiibo as well as the amiibo sets from the original Splatoon on Wii U to unlock special gear which can give your Inkling special abilities or gear. It goes without saying that the amiibo will look great on your desk or gaming shelf, too!

In order to use amiibo within Splatoon 2, simply head over to Nikopolis Square and you will find an empty amiibo display case toward the end of the plaza. After approaching the box, you just need to place your amiibo on the right Joy-Con NFC reader, or in the middle of your Switch Pro controller to activate.

Read on to find out what each amiibo does within the game.
