Activision hasn't really supported the Nintendo eShop in quite the same way as some of Nintendo's other third-party partners, but it looks as if that's going to change fairly soon.
North American eShop listings have been spotted for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, both full-price retail releases which are already on store shelves but haven't previously been available as downloads on the Wii U or 3DS.
While neither of these games are likely to make players reach for their credit cards, could this be the start of increased support from Activision? Could we see other titles from the publisher make their way to the eShop? Share your feelings below, and also let us know if you'll be downloading either of these games.
Thanks to Ryan Millar for the tip.

Well, at least it's a bit of support
Seems more like an attempt at selling for full price, seeing how both games are already dirt cheap in stores.
I would probably get an eShop version of COD if it ever gets released
I actually wanted The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for my Wii U off the e shop but it never happened. I saw it for $30 on PS4 and snatched it up. They coulda had my money when I wanted the download for the Wii U. Oh well, maybe next time.
Meh
Its interesting, don't think they will ever make another COD anyways!
I won't ever buy COD again based on the lack of updates and content, got it on the PS4 the other day and wow what an updated game compared to what I have on the Wii U. Shame we won't get the next one but actually its a better experience elsewhere!
I first thought Activision were announcing another Spiderman and Transformers game for the Wii U when I saw the headline. But nope, looks like they're just releasing old games digitally
About damn time Activision!!!!! Ninja turtles and cod next please. I thought/hoped this would happen after they announced a download code for trap team
Hopefully it does signify some kind of attempt to offer more support in future. They can't really believe that these will sell well at full price so long after launch.
I can't actually say that I'm interested in any Activision titles but it's good news nevertheless. The last disc I bought for my Wii U was Darksiders 2 and I don't plan on buying any more. Even that title I'd probably buy again as a download if they reduced it.
Strongly recommend Rise of the Dark Spark. While its 8-to-10-hour-long not-replayable-at-all campaign is daylight robbery as a full-priced retail game, it can do well on the eShop at a third of that price.
Come on, it's the closest to an American-made Super Robot Wars we'll EVER get, and it's pretty good even if you're not an SRW or Transformers fan (though it does make you wonder how an SRW ABOUT TRANSFORMERS would look, especially since JAM Project, the longtime SRW-theme-song-makers, did several songs for Transformers EVO).
They should just HD remake Spider Man 2 from the Gamecube!
Oh god ASP 2 was horrible. I bought it for pc and I regret getting it.
In fairness Activision have been pretty great at supporting Nintendo, they just don't have the most exciting of properties. They didn't release Destiny on the Wii U though, which in hindsight doesn't bother me much.
maybe third party games that I am interested will follow ..... maybe
EShop? Alright. Now if they could just make some games I actually want to buy...
Put Legend of Korra even though it received mixed reviews.
I own and enjoyed Transformers Rise of The Dark Spark on my Wii U
Yep, Activision and other third parties did everything they could to help the Wii U. Just like Wii U owners got the Black Ops 2 Nuketown 2025 map TWO years after everybody else had it, and now Activision is just now putting their games on the eShop(probably at full price too). smh
I'll probably buy Black Ops 2 if they release it on the eShop, but only if its around $10-$15 by now.
Eh, it's been a bit since Activision published anything that really caught my eye, but any support is good.
maybe JUST maybe we'll see the rest of Call of Duty's DLC.
Seeing as though Blizzard is an Activision company, maybe Diablo 3 on the WiiU would be quite cool. I hear the x box and ps4 versions of the game are pretty good.
I wouldn't mind if some 3rd party games came as eShop only titles. It would be cheaper for the publisher and still allow them to support the system. Maybe this is Activision's way of testing the waters so to speak........personally I'd love to see Activision release some of their great Atari games on VC......come on River Raid and Megamania!
@Kaze_Memaryu Lol Right!
@Kaze_Memaryu So true.
For like 19.99 a pop, I'll give it a try. Anymore at this late in the release cycle is a little silly.
While this news isn't groundbreaking, it does show a return of confidence and support for Nintendo hardware...it's a good sign, but nothing to celebrate...yet!
At the same time, I really, really wish Nintendo would release an official HDD expansion accessory for the Wii U to take all the guesswork out of it for those who don't understand how it works.
My internal 32GB is filling up fast, I go mostly retail, but with most 3rd party titles being larger and less efficient then Nintendo developed releases, if e-shop is the only way to get certain titles in the future...then having a reliable HDD is gonna be crucial for many Wii U owners.
It's nice to see the 3DS version of Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark getting released on the eShop. If it ever goes down to 12 € i might just bite. Not really interested in the boxed version.
Sucks we can't get war for/fall of Cybertron. Those games are so good!
@LegatoSkyheart you actually CARE about that stuff???
I...
...have a cool voice.
This...
...is my game.
You...
...will not buy it.
@Deanster101: Highly unlike Blizzard is not an Activision company. They are run as separate entities. Saying that Activsion can bring Diablo III to the Wii U is like saying that Blizzard can bring Destiny to the Wii U.
Should have put Prime (if it hasn't already) i don't know if it makes me sound crazy but i actually enjoyed TAS2
Bring us COD, sure.
They seem to be following Ubisoft here by releasing games that target the WiiU's main audience.
What sorcery is this!? Activision retail titles finally reaching the eShop!? Where have they been before!? That is what I really wanna know!
This is actually a big indication of support, IMO. Activision's games were only at retail, probably because they could get more accurate sales data without the inclusion of the eShop. My guess is that this means that the eShop is a relevant place to gather data for their games, which probably wasn't the case back at launch.
EA did the same thing with Mass Effect 3: Special Edition. They released the (gimped) EA Sports games on the eShop, but left Mass Effect on disc.
@Action51 with the Digital Download Promotion, I decided (when I purchased my Wii U) to go with the full 2TB external HDD, and I will tell you, there is plenty of space (even with all major releases and about a couple dozen indie/retro games)! I stand behind the (Nintendo Recommended) Buffalo DriveStation Axis USB 3.0 2GB HDD... So far so good! (Knock on wood) download may not be for everyone, but it works for me! (And yes, I too would like to see an account based system for nintendo...)
