No problems here mate... Not even with Monster Hunter online

The only issue I've noticed is that my hard drive is much slower to load the icons on the main menu (a load screen even appears briefly) since the update.

yeah ive been having similar problems mate my connection keeps dropping out and flashing up error codes. it eventually starts working again but happened a few times last night. it was rather annoying went on this morning to check the new rayman challenge and all seems to be fine. personally id just leave it a day or two, see if it sorts itself out.

put it on.

If I switch between apps/games too quickly it kind of freezes a bit before it starts loading.

Mine does the same thing, and I'm not using a hard drive. I don't think you (we) have anything to worry, as long as it isn't freezing. I'm guessing a load screen pops up because when you quit a game or leave the store etc, it goes back to the main menu much faster now, whereas before the load times were longer so it had time to load everything up.

For some weird reason the touch screen on my gamepad stopped working for a while. It's working again now, but that was weird.

No problems here, but I haven't done much more than browse Miiverse for a few minutes and play a few levels of NSMBU.

I haven't even been able to update yet, since my Internet is sort of "gunked" again. I guess I need to break out my portable one soon.

hi everyone. well i downloaded smw this morning for £1.49 as i own it on wii vc but unfortunately since after powering down (as i was gonna play it later today) my wii u is now stuck with a red/amber flashing light and wont turn on?

Has this happened to anyone else and could it be related to me doing the system update last night? Does anyone know of a fix? Ive tried doing the usual mains reset (unplug, wait 15 secs and plug back in) but its no good. Mario U disc locked inside too and it doesnt even attempt to play it. I've emailled Nintendo so waiting for response... thanks

Thats what 98% of Wii-U owners have been doing since November 2012.

I noticed the icons show up different, too. The home screen shows up faster, but the icons are slowed a little. I'm sure Nintendo will figure out how to make the Wii U iOS fast in due time... I'm pretty sure that is what they are aiming for.
As for internet issues... Don't port forward mess with router settings if you don't have to, make sure your router is up to date, and make sure you are close enough to the router to get a good signal.

@AbeVigoda So I guess I'm in the 2%. Because I have also been busy playing Arkham City, Darksiders 2, AC III, NBA 2K13, Scribblenauts, Zombi U, Lego City, Little Inferno, and a little of Kirby Adventure, Wii U Street and the Rayman app.

Same here. I have had more freezes and internet disconnections since the update than ever before. It froze like 3 times yesterday and i had like 4 dropouts when connecting to miiverse and eshop.

I starting to get real pissed at the shoddy excuses of the poor console this really is. This has got to be the worst nintendo console that I ever bought. It feels so unfinished. The OS is just poor.

I love Nintendo but I feel letdown by this console because of all these problems, sure it's a new console so it's bound to have a few bugs but not this much. Not happy at all.

But thankfully the software side of things is keeping me happy so I don't regret buying it.

Toki Tori 2, Trine 2, Rayman challenges and Runner 2 are still keeping me busy for the next month

In my experience most freezes occur due to network issues. I decided to unplug my router a few times during online play, browsing the web, going through Netflix, going on Miiverse, etc sometimes it gives a network connectivity error and I can go back to the HOME Menu (this is what it is supposed to do) but sometimes the system just freezes. The reason why I believed network connectivity was the culprit was because on the 3DS and Wii I had freezes due to the same issues (though thankfully those systems were updated enough to take care of the majority of those issues).

That happened to me yesterday but it froze the console all together, I had to hold the power switch on the Wii-U.

Also I would like to add during the big update my console did 3 restarts as I kept getting errors. But finally it managed to install on the 4th try..

For me, the games/apps load slower than the IOS plus sometimes Netflix freezes and blacks out as it's trying to load...I'm sure Nintendo will notice these issues that people are having and work on a fix in due time.
