It's probably a safe bet to say that Nintendo from now on are going to suffocate on their own damn pride.
They're at a point where they should be evolving and improving their internal studios, which includes giving NoA and NoE the time and resources to set up AAA teams for them selves.
NoJ are given way too much control with what software the company are producing. They can keep Mario and Zelda, but letting NoA and NoE develop games from past I.P's, even allowing for new ones would see Nintendo remain as one of the top developers.
This is why people take a negative view of Nintendo at times, simply because they'e not doing what's best for the company, rather than what's best for their internal beliefs.

@Gamer83 With Sega on the way out, had Nintendo and Sony still be in partnership together, I still think MS would still have been paying attention, and would have still jumped in with the XBOX.
The motive was there to be a rival to Sony (albeit with Nintendo at their side), and without Sega taking a slice of the hardware sales. the opportunity was there too.
MS had the money to fund the entry into the console arena, and I think they would have done it where ever Sony and Nintendo's relationship lay.

Even if Nintendo continued this route with Sony, I doubt Sega would still be here as a console manufacturer. Sega made their own mistakes independently of what anyone else was doing.
Microsoft just saw an opportunity with the XBOX and it paid off for them.
Either way, Sony and Nintendo were only doing what they thought was right for business, and it just wasn't ment to be.

Nintendo made the mistake of setting Federation Force in the Metroid universe. If they had set it as it's own I.P the negatitvity would have never there.
There would still be the dissapoinment of no proper Metroid, but tnat would have been easier for most people to deal with.

dizzy_boy commented on Working On F-Zero Wouldn't Have Been My Idea O...:

The point is that criterion shouldn't have accepted the EA buy out then. Although, we wouldn't have the excellent NSF MW on the WiiU.
I always thought Ward was a bit off to blame Nintendo for not promoting NFS MW, it's not their game, that job should be done by EA. And what stopped Criterion putting money behind the game's advertising, they could have put that into their budget plans.
The other thing to note is, by offering Criterion F-Zero, Nintendo obviously had confidence in them to do the job properly. They could have quite easily said come back in a few months and we'll speak.
I would rather have had F-Zero at some point in the WiiU's life than being dropped because Nintendo wanted it to be a launch title.

dizzy_boy commented on Super Mario Maker's Packaging Sure Looks Pretty:

@lividd3ad people are different on how they learn things. Some people might want to be shown how to use the tools in Mario Maker. Other people will want to get stuck in and try everything out for themselves.
Besides, there's a possibility those levels will be available in the share section of the game anyway. For me, the next couple of months can't go quick enough.

dizzy_boy commented on Poll: We Need to Talk About amiibo - Where Do ...:

Given that the WiiU still has a good 2 years left in it, I'm not so worried about supply, but that depends on Nintendo re-stocking the Amiibo that I want.
The other thing that may be worth talking about is whether or not Nintendo will carry on using Amiibo on their next gen consoles. It would be shame to use them only on WiiU and 3DS games. Heck, they could even do some little mobile game using Amiibo considering that some smart phones have NFC readers on them.

Nintendo should celebrate the 30th like this.
Mario Kart Wii should have been one of the first Wii downloads, and Nintendo should switch on a dedicated server for online play. Even if it was just for the 30th celebration year.
A proper battle pack, for MK8.
New special stages for New Super Mario Bros 2.
Make a competition to give away a Mario themed WiiU with all WiiU Mario games bundled including codes for the Mario VC games, the MK8DLC.

@Mewtwo21 in the quote from Ian Belle he states that he said the WiiU and OS were a maybe, go read it again yourself.
I'm just saying where exactly did he say that. Other than the recent press release, it would be nice to know during the entire development time, when did he say the WiiU was a maybe like he's trying to claim.
Maybe I should have rephrased what I said earlier, and you would have unserstood a little better.

dizzy_boy commented on Talking Point: The Fragility of Buying Downloa...:

I honestly don't see why people are so worried about games being deleted from systems if a company and/or their servers go down it's just not going to happen. The only thing is that you make sure that you back up all copies of your games when Nintendo eventually takes down the eShop, and those games will become unavailable.
Once servers are down, the games will remain on your system or where ever you've stored them, they'll remain playable, albeit without online capabilities.
The only way Nintendo or 3rd parties will ever step in is if you're found to be illegally copying, distributing, or modifying the game.
And where physsical copies are concerned, you still don't own the game in it's entirety, you only own the media it's printed on, the developers own the game code. Even then, I'm pretty sure you're not legally allowed to rent or lend out your games,.

dizzy_boy commented on Reaction: There is a Positive Angle to Nintend...:

I was unable to get a match in, after the first half hour I gave up. If I knew about the second hour I would have tried again.
I can understand Nintendo testing the online in real world rather than testing in the studio. They get far better results and can adjust the settings before it gets released, that way day one online should run alot smoother. Which is better for everybody.

dizzy_boy commented on Nintendo is Discontinuing the Basic 8GB Wii U ...:

Even with a bit of dlc, 8 gig should be fine for people who only want to play disk based games.
Thing is, if Nintendo went with putting more memory into the WiiU, they would have had to charge more for it. And how many people would then look at the WiiU and not pay for it if they had done that.
Basically, the WiiU would have been an even bigger disaster if they had done that. Even so, how many people are buying downloads only, most people on here are whining about download prices anyway, so it can't be that many.

dizzy_boy commented on Nintendo Focusing on Multiplayer Fun at the 20...:

MCM used to be really good. It's become so busy now that it's difficult to actually enjoy browsing the stalls without being pushed and shoved around.
TBH, the organizers really need to look into booking up the whole venue and spreading everything around a bit more. They're making enough off ticket sales alone to be able to do so.
Also, they need to bring back the wresting. That was one of the things that made the day out worth it.

The WiiU needs more racers, and this would definitly fill a slot on my menu. This along with 90's Arcade Racer and Road Redemption if they ever get released will be great additions to the WiiU library.
If the do make it, all it really needs is a bit more stuff to fill out the back ground to give it a bit more life.
