I hated the wii version. I thought the 64 and DD multiplayer were amazing, but MK7 was my favorite

You love it, but you didn't play it enough to enjoy it?

What you should have said: I liked what I played of it but it's not my favorite.

This is like picking your favorite child to me.

It's obvious you don't have children.

Double Dash is my favorite Mario Kart entry.

Just for you.

Have played them all, and like double dash the most. Mario kart 64 right behind.

Double Dash and 7 are my favourites, followed by Wii, SNES, N64, GBA, DS and the arcade games.

I will update this when Half Life 3 arrives. [Started 17/11/2015]

My least favorite would be WIi, because of the broken motion controls.

I can't say I'm too fond of most Mario Kart games. Double Dash was awesome - great track designs, precise controls, and an additional layer of depth with the double driver system made this game the most fleshed out one of all., Super Mario Kart was pretty cool, though it had some mean flaws (insane rubberband AI, control issues), but that's about it for me. I couldn't enjoy any of the other games, for various reasons.

Mario Kart 64 was full of boring and overly long tracks, Mario Kart Super Circuit and Mario Kart Wii had terrible controls, Mario Kart DS was way too easy and had no appeal, and Mario Kart 7 had terrible track designs alongside subpar controls.

My favorite is always the current one. I don't go back to old mario karts after the new one(s) is out. Only series I do that with.

for Parties, DD, definitely. GREAT maps and GREAT multiplayer. i loved this as a kid. for solo though, DS is my preference. i like the drifting mechanic in DS (it requires skill to use), some of the best maps imo (for solo), and although playing with the D-Pad is kinda weird at first, i got used to it. i honestly did not like the gliding and underwater sections in MK7 because i felt they slowed down the gameplay and didn't add anything to the experience.

I remember Mario Kart 64 feeling like such a step down compared to Super Mario Kart back when it was released. The 2D to 3D transition was iffy, losing most of the charm of the original, plus the bland empty barren tracks were a bit of an eye sore. I didn't find it that fun either, multiplayer is where it shined! But i'd still rather just play double dash!!

between64 and DiddyKingRacing, i strongly prefer DKR. level design is so much better, more vehicles to ride is a plus, and the game is about more than just beating the stupid AI to the finish line.

Mario Kart DS has remained the only Mario Kart game with an 8-player race limit and single player VS. Single player VS wasn't around before Mario Kart DS, at least based on the entries I've played, and Mario Kart 7 was the first game to exclude the feature since. Most of the replay value I've gotten out of the entire Mario Kart series, outside of multiplayer, has been Mario Kart DS's single player VS. Mario Kart has been an 8-player racer until Mario Kart Wii upped the chaos to 12, and Mario Kart 8 will do the same. Personally, I think 12 is going overboard on the chaos. So even with Mario Kart 8 coming soon, I think Mario Kart DS will still be the Mario Kart I enjoy the most. I actually don't have plans to pick up Mario Kart 8 unless it returns the single player VS feature that was absent in 7.

Double dash by far, wii version looked like crap. They should have called it Mario kart miniature.

MK 8 will probably be my new favourite.

Bah as far Mario Kart 64 being a let down in early 97, I think every kid at the local SEARS or Wallmart kiosk was thinking "mind blown".

You are aware that you don't have to use the motion controls, right? Besides, I found the Mouton controls to be surprisingly responsive.

Easily DS. I've never been THAT into Mario Kart. I mean I've enjoyed it quite a bit sometimes but DS was the perfect example of the right game at the right time that did all the right things that I'm not sure Nintendo can recapture again, at least for me. It perfected how the games controlled, it doubled the amount of courses, it was pretty much Nintendo's first real online game and it had the shockingly great single player missions that I'm shocked and disappointed weren't ever used again.
