The real Nintendo 2014 E3: Vaguely reference future quality of life product for twenty minutes, notify us that Nintendo has overcome the technological challenges of playing Game Boy games on the Wii U gamepad, introduce New Super Mario Bros. 3 for the 3DS, and notify us that Smash has been delayed to 2015 for the Wii U, please understand.

I think given the lack of big directs this year (nothing even close to being on par with January 2013) and the question marks surrounding new hardware and software developments, Nintendo will probably hit the stage at E3 2014, as they should.

The Dreamcast had sold more copies then the Wii U at this point in its comparative lifespan, ugh. Nintendo should make the Wii U a 4 year console, like the Saturn and Xbox, the U has failed the catch the consumer bases attention to any significant degree.

IceClimbers, I think thats a pretty solid prediction, but I still believe Nintendo will unveil something during E3 for the 2014 Holdiay season, even if it's a HD remake in the vein on Wind Waker.

I don't see them trumping the PS4 or XB1 anytime soon though.

I'm hoping Nintendo becomes pro-active on HD remakes for the Wii U as well,.....that strategy worked pretty well for Sony and the PS3, it's a cheap to make guaranteed seller that helps to fill the voids.

If it was not for the 2013 January Nintendo Direct, the 2013 E3 would have had quite a few surprises outside of DKC: TF and Zelda: ALBW......so I'm optimistic that Nintendo still has a few surprises left in order to full up the second half of the year. For sure the 3DS must have something new in the works, like a Metroid title or a remake of Majora's Mask, given that both have been teased.

Year of the Yoshi is announced, Yoshi's new island is releasing on the 14th, we haven't seen anything on Yarn Yoshi in ages, Yoshi has yet to be announced for Smash Bros., and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is coming to the VC.

Yup, I was playing alone, hence I like other versions of the Murphy levels more, but I can see how it would be cool in co-op.

On that note, who here even played as Rayman?? Barbara the Barbarian was so much cooler of a character.

Nobody takes Australia seriously, they are a lonely bunch of people in the middle of nowhere (south Pacific)!

The key phrase is "relying on exergaming".

Nothing beats actually getting off your @$$ and going for a run outside or hitting the gym + a solid diet.

Point well made, I know when I was 13 I was more excited to be fragging on Quake 3 vice playing Mario Party, etc.........I still think it was a solid commercial, better than some of the god awful early Wii U adverts.

I don't think this is a bad commercial at all, Nintendo's main target audience is kids and teens, not 20 some year old guys. The add nicely focuses on the game itself, instead of showing a bunch of Wiimotes and gamepads (which just confuses people), and although it's a little cheesy, it's all in reason and not just plain embarrassing like some of the earlier Wii U adverts. Keep this kind of stuff up N, the 3D never sold the 3DS, it was the games, and that applies to the Wii U as well.

sub12 commented on A Third-Party "Secret Developer" Gives an Insi...:

I realize it’s “Mr. secret developer”, but do you think Eurogamer would publish it if they knew it was complete BS.?

The guy isn’t even hostile towards Nintendo, he comes off credible, and why would he say he works for X or X company when he doesn’t want to hurt relations nor possibly lose his job from his head shed? He probably just knows somebody at Eurogamer, he was explaining the situation to them, and they say, “cool beans, can you write me a article on that?, and we will keep your identity hidden”. Happens all the time.

I’m just saying, for the people who are saying this article is BS, your kinda putting your head in the sand. The lack of third party support from numerous developers (not just EA, etc), indicates that probably quite a few developers / companies feel the same way.

Yup, it’s all fake and make believe, Eurogamer (the guys who called Super Mario Galaxy the #1 title of the 7th gen) just has a vendetta against the Wii U, and they decided to risk their credibility so they could make Nintendo look bad.

Look, Nintendo is an amazing developer, but they have made same big mistakes with the Wii U, stop being “this has to be fake, etc. etc.”, just look at the release schedule, outside of a couple of titles from Ubi and Activision, with Slightly Mad, mostly every other developer is skipping the console wholesale under current conditions.

Nintendo f’ed up a bit, that’s not saying the Wii U is the next Atari Jaguar, because it isn’t, but hopefully Nintendo learns from their mistakes and stops riding the Wii wave which sank a long time ago.
