AAA studios basically ALWAYS make similar games gameplay-wise
Yes, all Platinum games are identical gameplay-wise. Nintendogs also play exactly like Mario Kart 8, since those are made by the same EAD team. And all Monolith Soft games play the same way. And so on.
I remember never really getting into Witcher 2; it would've demanded a lot more time than I was ready to invest. Pretty tough to give any good advice at this point: I'd say to wait until they both release and read the review's then.
If humanlike faces are important to you, then you ought to go with Witcher 3. A few of those look like something out of a mad scientist's lair:
"Papa, why are my eyes so weird?"
"Good heavens, how did you get out of The Vault!?"
Currently on the plate:
Mount and Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Chivalry
Super Mario 3D World – Finishing the last few levels.
Mario Kart 8
Well I hate to be the guy that pulls out the metacritic scores...but XC got a 92 and the Witcher 2 got a 88. And while Monolith Soft has emphasized how happy they are with XCX(and most people know that Takahashi loves improving his games and getting bigger and better) and that this is their best game they've made up till this point, I haven't heard anything from CD Projekt Red about how much of an improvement W3 will be over W2. I'd predict that XCX will be overall the better game, but of course W3 will obviously be more popular.
"The future doesn't belong to you!"
Waiting for: BOTW 2, Metroid Prime 4, Xenoblade Chronicles 3
The art style of the two games is the same; realism with anime humanoids. Xenoblade Chronicles Wii just has infinitely more jaggies. That's not to say that X's faces don't look infinitely more freakish, I think it's the perfect doll faces thing.
Whatttttt? It's completely and utterly different. Different type of texturing. Hugely different colour palette. Different type of lighting. If you call this realism, I don't think you're understanding the "real" part:
And then the new one. Which COULD be described as realism:

Wow 4 points. Big difference.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

After watching this past broadcast for Japan, i can see Xenoblade is extremely huge. But i didn't see a lot of interaction in the gameplay with other people. Also, what can you say about the multiplayer aspect? Which do you think is better? Is there a multiplayer mode for TW3?
Thanks you all for answering!
The choice is easy for me: Xenoblade Chronicles X. The first game hit all of the points I want from an RPG and the sequel is expected to be an improvement in many ways. The size and scope and design of the world was very impressive on Wii; with extra power on Wii U I'm expecting even better results.
That's just a personal opinion though, based on my own taste in games. You might feel very differently and there is nothing wrong with that.
Witcher 3 also looks like a great game, and it's impressive how they've gotten progressively more polished after the first entry in the series was interesting but very rough. My guess is this game will be a bigger hit with online critics and gamers - so if being part of that discussion matters to you then Witcher could be a better option.

Awesome score! Do i have to play the first one before i play XCX?

They've said repeatedly that it's not a direct sequel (essentially saying it's a different universe entirely), so everything is pointing to "no".

Nintendo is much different from most AAA games, even each individual team. And Platinum hasn't made any shooters, strategy games, or MOBAs as far as I know. Dismissing the trend that most AAA developers make similar games or sequels is just willful ignorance and will only delude your perception of the industry.
And both Xenoblade games look the exact same except for subtle improvements; both are open world auto-attack-style RPGs. The same goes for the Witcher 2 and 3.

Comparing perhaps the most primary color-infused stock photo of Xenoblade Wii and the most grey area of X does not a balanced juxtaposition make.
'Utterly' different a bit of an exaggeration. While the lighting and HD do change the way it looks, both games are trying for graphical realism (with the environments, at least). Think Skyward Sword to Zelda U; there's about that much change.

Well I think we're clearly operating on very different definitions of what "art style" is. And I don't think resolution has anything to do with art style whatsoever. Maybe you should define what you mean by it. (and also define what you mean by graphical realism, since I have no idea what you mean by that given your comments).
Skyward Sword to Zelda U is not a good comparison at all. Those use much more similar art styles to each other. And I'd say their lighting and texturing are actually both closer to Xenoblade Chronicles than to X.
Obviously I can't change the actual texturing and modelling used in Xenoblade Chronicles but here's my 2 minute attempt in photoshop to give a version of Xenoblade Chronicles with a more realistic colour balance and realistic lighting (I actually think mine looks better):
