I call BS. You took people's money, you need to be willing to go to whatever lengths necessary to provide the product. There are no actual problems here that can't be fixed with more time and energy. All of you sleep on 1 person's apartment floor or move in with a friend for a month, stop socializing, live off cheap own-brand food for a while. Just do whatever it takes to meet your promises. People that willing to just give up don't deserve success.

The problem with these kinds of polls is you don't know what further DLC would be competing for time with.
If you phrase a similar poll for almost any popular game, you'll always get most people asking for more. If that dev team would otherwise be working Zelda though, I think most people would change their mind.

What probably happened is they had the graphics engine running earlier on for just the parts of the game that were done at the time. They then needed to do some optimizing later on to get the final game running at 30fps. They then went back and adjusted these scenes for the sake of having graphical consistency.
Not a big issue.

It's an unacceptable attitude to have. They either need to make a game that they had the budget for or just put their heads down and make whatever sacrificies necessary to finish it. Sleep on each other's lounge floors of something to save on rent. Eat on a budget. Give up social lives for a while. But don't screw over the people you've made promises to.

Those studies include casual gaming, that's why they have so many more women. If you look at AAA console gaming, it's still largely male. It also depends hugely on the genre of the games.

But you're using a loaded definition of equality. You're assuming sameness between the genders and therefore arriving at the idea that equality must be equality of outcome rather than of opportunity. If the genders are in fact different, your well intentioned idea of equality will be just as damaging as the heavy gender roles were.

It's a terrible analogy. The general population that vote is 50/50 men/women. Console gaming is overwhelmingly male and therefore there's an inherent reason for most playable characters to be male by default. Saying "equality" in something that's starting out as not being equal, and will probably stay that way, is completely meaningless.

Given that Link's gender is almost entirely irrelevant to everything that happens in the games. This really is just "game jam challenges developers to make a zelda game". I do like it when lazy people convince themselves they're doing good in the world though.
