I guess my idea would be for Nintendo to make more games. 'well, duh, moron!' but I guess more smaller/medium sized projects. Like split their large teams, who worked on games like SM3DW, MK8, Smash, ext into much smaller teams and work on a ton of smaller projects, working on new ideas and sequals to smaller franchises (I mean franchises that don't sell as much), like metroid, star fox, f-zero, excite bike, kid Icarus, and Pikmin ( I loved Pikmin 3, but it obviousely didn't deserve big-budget treatment).
i don't know, but seems like having a lot more smaller scaler, cheaper to produce games would help, expecially concidering they have watch their costs if they don't want to be in the red again. With games getting more and more expensive to make, they need to think of some way to reduce costs. I've been thinking about something like this for a long time, actually, but want to actually put it out. Also don't wanna make yet another thread for this suggestion shlock.
Call me an idiot if you want, just want to add my 2 cents.

As for this topic, about Wii U. There is no comeback. X1 succeed, PS4 will succeed and Wii U will just be off elsewhere. It comes back to the devil, third parties. Its more than that, but its key reason among all U's problems.
I did not even see that, so well played. And well played to the person below as well.
"They played us like a damn fiddle!" - MGS5
"Finish your mission, prove your loyalty." - MGS3
"We could take a s*** on you from such a height, you'd think God himself has crapped on you!" - GTA: SA

It's as if everyone thinks this is going to sell. News flash: it's not.
A single decision or release of a game is not going to change anything.
Splatoon may not sell well in Japan or Europe but it will sell high in NORTH AMERICA.
he didn't even say it wasn't going to sell well, he thinks it will not sell. News Flash, I am buying it meaning it will at least sell 1 copy. So it will sell
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Or maybe it will. Nintendo hasn't really done anything like that before. I just seriously doubt that it will get the exposure it needs, or that it will draw in many new Wii U customers.
TBH I don't know why people should care about sales that much and I think we're all just a bit spoilt by gaming these days. I remember when I played my brother's Sega Master System as a kid he had maybe five games or so on a system that relatively speaking wasn't a huge hit. Dwarfed by the NES. Why should I have cared? The games were fun. Alex Kidd, Sonic, Outrun, Astro Warrior and My Hero. Then my original Gameboy, for the maybe five years or so I had it before the Gameboy Color I only had maybe 7 games total. About half of them were games like Tetris, Dr Mario or Mario & Yoshi which would now be a small eShop download that'd tide you over for a week or so. But I played them and games like Pokemon, Donkey Kong Land and Super Mario Land 2 to death and was more than happy with it.
So when I see endless threads about how there aren't the games or how the sales are bad I call BS. There's no way you can't be enjoying the Wii U if you grabbed one. What a load of bull. As of right now I have 13 full retail Wii U games, 10 Wii U eShop titles, 14 3DS games and 8 3DS eShop games. Games like Mario Kart 8, Animal Crossing New Leaf, A Link Between Worlds, Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3 and Kid Icarus Uprising, Steamworld Dig, Bit Trip Runner 2, Mighty Switch Force and Child of Light. And people are seriously making threads about how dire the situation is with Nintendo's console sales and their lack of games? I mean really. The consoles might not be lighting the cash registers as much as Sony's box is but who gives a damn? IMO the Wii U right now is more enjoyable than the Wii was at the same point. So just play your games, you have HEAPS to pick from and most are a lot of fun.
Sales are important. If the games you like don't sell well, then obviously it means you're not going to be having as much fun in the future. That's not being spoiled at all, it's a legitimate concern that the industry is moving away from your interests.
Also, I think the Wii U's current lineup is pretty meh at this point, the only game out right now that I really like is Mario Kart 8 (although I am interested in Captain Toad and Splatoon too).
Which considering how terrible Nintendo is at marketing, doesn't really give much hope.
Nintendo is okay at marketing. It's just really expensive to market. You might think that "hey, advertising works" but then they have bottom lines and if they spent way too much on advertising it's the way in the end AAA games don't make any money, because they went overkill. So it's a complicated business.

Well that's not really relevant to the point I was making. I don't think the Wii U's "poor sales" are going to mean that Nintendo doesn't make another home console. It certainly won't mean that this is the last we see of Zelda, Mario, Kart and Smash. At worst it means that third parties skip the Wii U as part of their cost/benefit calculations. Those franchises will come crawling back if Nintendo's next platform is a hit and you can play them just about anywhere else anyways.
It also doesn't change the fact that it's still a fun console with a fair amount of content. Instead of creating endless threads going over this same old stuff why don't people just enjoy the games they have? Is that too much to ask?
People are buying the PS4 because the XBOne did a PS3 at launch. Remains to be seen if Microsoft can gain some momentum or not however. Either way the end-user should be able to get enough enjoyment out of it for it to be worth it. There's no mystery.
Ya, but does everyone seriously think PS4 can sell 1/2 of a million units every month for another 8-10 years? All the consoles have promises, so I don't really see how that would be a specific trait of PS4. When it comes right down to it, everybody isn't a PS4 fan, and fans are the only people buying consoles right now.
I totally agree that anybody that has any of these consoles is going to be happy with it in the long run, under the presumption that they actually bought the console that best suits them, but I just feel like PS4 selling so well and people making a big deal about it is kind of undermining that there are going to be people that like Wii U or Xbox One more than PS4, regardless of sales, which makes the whole fiasco kind of silly and slightly annoying at the same time. No offense.
