Then when I see that the thing is cheaper, I realize it has no games.
This meme needs to die. The Vita has a TON of great games on it. Even if you're only considering physical retail releases. If you count in digital games, however, the library expands even more.
"Games that aren't popular" and "no games" are one and the same to dumb people - A lesson I learned from the Wii.

QFT. People who say a console has "no games" (if the console isn't brand new) are just too lazy to look for games that interest them.

I have to say there aren't really any systems I got that I regret buying. That form of mentality is quite a negative and highly consumeristic point of view that mirrors that of a child with a low attention span. Rather than regret the purchase of a system, cherish in the memories instead that it brings. After all, regretting doesn't serve much purpose than to build up bitterness in oneself.
Oh, and if you're going to bring up a monetary counter, all I can really say to that is while things may not have played out too well, rather than dwell on what was lost through purchase try and think of how to not repeat that situation. Learn from that purchase, not regret it. There is a difference as regretting can lead to knee-jerk reactions to products/situations in some individuals while learning encourages analysis and study before committing into something (not saying regretting doesn't do that either, it's just that it's usually accompanied with negative sentiments that can cloud one's judgement leading to what I mentioned before).
PS: For information purposes these are the systems bought into my household over the years till now: NES, some pirate console of sorts (live in South East Asia during that era), Gameboy (original, colour, advance and SP), N64, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, DS (original, lite, DSi), PSP (original, slim), Xbox 360, PS3, 3DS (original, XL), WiiU and the PC. Not one of these have I regretted ever getting. That is not to say that some see more use than others; my PSP for example really only saw a fraction of its library, though I have to say I enjoyed Valkyrie Chronicles and that Final Fantasy fighting game on it. I have enjoyed my time gaming with all of these (yea, bit of a gaming nut here hahaha).

The consoles closest to "having no games" on them are the PS4 and Xbone, primarily because they're still quite new.
To be fair, Sony has said they're not supporting the system with AAA games anymore. Which doesn't really matter to me, since Sony's input on the platform has mostly sucked anyway. All of its best games have been Japanese 3rd party games.
I guess that's why this "no games" meme is still around though. The system isn't going to get support of the traditional AAA western games. It's like people bought the system thinking they were going to get a console Call of Duty experience and then were pissed off that it didn't deliver.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
I regret buying the WWHD Wii U bundle... I should have gotten the NSMBU+SLU bundle, but I didn't listen to my own warnings. However, the LoZ design on the gamepad makes it worthwhile. XD
To actually answer the question though, I don't regret any of my systems because they all had at least one of the following: Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts, Monster Hunter, Mario Kart, Resident Evil (4 and Revelations being the only ones I played, had 4 on PS2 and Revelations on 3DS), a Naruto fighting game, or a DBZ fighting game. Those systems would be GBC, GBA, NDS, 3DS, Wii, Wii U, PS2, and PSP.
Probably the refurbished PS3 I bought 6 months ago. It sems more glitchy than any console i've ever owned. Red Dead Redemption in particular is very problematic for me. There are still enough games I like on it that that I'll keep it, plus it's my DVD/Blu Ray player as well, though I have considered just getting a new PS3 or even a PS4 instead.

The problem with the Vita for me is a large proportion of what I want is PSP stuff but it is split across at least the US and Japan PSN's. The PS1 games I want all seem to be only be able to be loaded via a PS3 unofficially. (Fairly sure I would have no issues with how it works playing PSP games on the Vita). Then there is even more PSP stuff that is not on any PSN.

Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.
Every console I have ever owned has been awesome. I regret a few purchases on certain consoles that should have been bought for other consoles but I went by review scores. PS3 was the worst for that but by the time I got a PS3, my 360 sounded like the fan/drive had a spokey dokey on it.
I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

It's kind of hard to remember Game.com with the limited number of brain cells I have!
There were less than 20 games I think. I know there was mention of Symphony of the Night and I think Metal Gear Solid but it's safe to say they just would've been HUGE disappointments if they actually got released.
Those few SotN screens look nice, but it would be a real surprise if Tiger could've kept up that quality for the whole game.
I know I'll get hate for this, but the 3ds. Every Nintendo game just feels like a stripped down version of a home console game, and I have yet to see any 3rd party game that really warrants a 3ds purchase.

Are you sure you're talking about the 3DS and not the Game Boy? Because aside from Mario Party and Mario Golf, I don't see you could even possibly say these games are stripped down...I mean, I don't like almost any of the First Party 3DS games, but only because I don't agree with their actual content, not the extent of that content. I could still see many of them performing just the same on consoles (in fact, I wasn't too pleased with the Wii's output, either. Wii U's been fairing better, though).

I suppose "stripped down" was the wrong term to use. What I was meaning to say is that almost all of the 1st party 3ds games feel like they could belong on a home console, except for the fact that it's on a weaker system, making the games feel like they're stripped down compared to the home console versions.
Edit- And it doesn't help that 1st party 3ds games usually lack creativity and inspiration.
I'm going to get a lot of flak for this, but here it goes.
Gotta agree with the above. The games I've bought on the 3DS all feel like they lack any glimmer or inspiration. Especially games like Sticker Star and Mario 3D Land. That is all.

Not sure if I mentioned it above, but I'd say Zelda, Fire Emblem, and (as much as I hate to say it) Kid Icarus: Uprising are all great games that outshine many of their console brothers. For god sakes, if Kid Icarus had good controls, I'd say it was everything Sin & Punishment 2 wishes it was. Luigi's Mansion 2 is also a game that's packed with charm at least. I know everyone likes to compare it to the original, but on its own it does a lot of cute little things I used to expect from Nintendo that I felt were absent from a lot of their other games. I'll admit that their Mario games definitely feel B-Team, but those are pretty much the only ones I can think of that have taken a hit.
I'm not getting into 3rd Party games, btw, since all of those that I have are RPGs (or at least have strong RPG elements). Sure, they all range from good to f***ing fantastic, but still, if you don't like RPGs, I have nothing else to recommend.
Bah, Dream Team is a solid entry in the Mario and Luigi series. A Link Between Worlds, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf are arguably the best entries in their respective series. Luigi's Mansion 2 was longer and more fun than its Gamecube predecessor. Mario Kart 7 was a HUGE improvement in every way over the Wii entry, and added a lot of interesting new features to the Karts that seem to have informed the Wii U follow-up. 3D Land created a new sub-series that is tons of fun and a huge breath of fresh air after the NSMB series took over in the handheld space.
Yes, Paper Mario: Sticker Star was disappointing and Kid Icarus was hampered by an awful control scheme, but the last few years have just seen a huge number of great Nintendo games on 3DS.
