Topic: Systems you regret buying

I've owned quite a few systems over my life. Enjoyed most of them, but there were a few I felt the content was so poor they weren't worth buying or I never really like the games released on them. So for me the list would be:
PSP
Playstation 2 & 3
NeoGeo Pocket
GamePark 32
Nintendo DS

Apart from them I have also owned and been happy with:
GameBoy
SNES
Sega Saturn
Nintendo 64
GameCube
Sega Dreamcast
Nintendo Wii
Xbox
Xbox 360
Nintendo Wii U
GBA
Nintendo 3DS

What about anyone else? Part of the problem for me is that I am a big fan of Nintendo's franchises which makes it difficult for me to get into non-Nintendo systems. So I have a lot of anti-Nintendo bias.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I have owned a lot of systems too (about 20+ counting all my handhelds, 17ish, and the handful of consoles I've nabbed as well) I haven't bought one I have regretted purchasing. I bought them all no matter how bad they were claimed to be. The worst one though...Tiger Game.com. Its a fun little handheld, but only for games that don't move Sega Game Gear comes in 2nd because I spent a ton on it and have yet to find a game I really enjoy on that machine...

The New 3DS XL is amazing, soon the NX will be upon us!

That was the type of games released on it never appealing to me, only felt I got something out of MGS2 (and one via the emulation, but didn't replay them) on it, in the end it wound up just being a DVD player for me.

XBox360 was my greatest mistake, for various reasons. I only got it for Guilty Gear II: Overture and Ninenty-Nine Nights, but everything else was more of a "I at least need some games for it" onligation thing. Glad I got rid of it.

So is the DS. I don't get how you can't find games you don't like on it...

It's not that there weren't many games I would have liked on it (there were probably lots), just none that appealed to me enough to get them based on how they looked/were marketed, the Zelda ones were about it so I never felt I got value from the console. Bit odd since I generally like Nintendo's stuff but the DS never had content that grabbed me

The original Xbox 360(Before the Kinect came out and it was redesigned).I couldn't get internet at all because it had required and Ethernet cable or an $80 add-on to the system.Neither of which were an option,so I sold it to pre-order LEGO City Undercover last year.

I never buy a system until it has released a system selling game. Gamecube had melee, gbc had pokemon red/blue, ds had nintendogs, wii had twilight princess, 3ds had kid icarus, oot 3d, and awakening, and wii u will have smash bros and yarn yoshi.

The original Xbox, I had some games that I enjoyed on it, but it would rarely be able to read the disks.(even when I first got it) I had to sit there for 10-20 minutes to get it to work, I'm surprised at how much patience I had with it at the time.
Although it may have just been me experiencing the problems, it seemed to be happening with everyone else that I knew who owned one as well.(there weren't very many though) I didn't really trust Microsoft after that(along with hearing about the red ring of death on the 360) and I hate having to pay for online so I never got a 360.

I regret getting a USA import N64 (Should have got a USA Saturn). That is the only one.

The Wii, but for a different reason. I got it around 2 months before the WII U launched, so wasted $100+.

EDIT: apart from that i do regret buying systems at launch, because there are mostly droughts around that time and after. So waiting for a system selling game is always worth the wait,. Learned the hard way with WII U

The Wii, I've always been a Nintendo fan and have all of their consoles except for the Virtual Boy. But the Wii was just awful in terms of new games.
(The only non Nintendo console I had was the X-box 360, which died on me in a year and a half, not because of the red ring though, I didn't dislike the 360 though, but never got to play too many games on it).

Most games had gimmicky motion controls, or were just mini-game collections, Skyward Sword was a huge disappointment & I haven't been interested in a main Mario game since Sunshine.

I did have fun with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Super Smash Bros. Brawl(Despite all of it's problems) and even the Mario & Sonic Winter Olympic game(The first one had awful controls though).

At the end of the day, it's basically my Virtual Console/Gamecube machine(And very few Wiiware games like Mega Man 9/10, La-Mulana & Cave Story), there's probably less than 20 Wii games that I'd say are "must haves".

And while some people might like the idea of reliving their old games, I do too, but I would have also liked to have better new games.
I kinda have the same problem with the Wii U currently, haven't bought it yet, waiting to see if it get's anything good(There's currently around like 5-6 games that interest me).

Though on a side note, I will say the 3DS has quickly become my favorite Nintendo system.

Ps4 and Vita. There were a few games on a Vita that I liked, but traded it in for a 2ds because it is just dead at this point.

Ps4 because there is nothing but dudebro games, and not very many at that. There is 0 that is coming out anytime soon I'm interested in. Lbp3 even looked stupid, the devs showing gameplay sure made it look like the controls are crap, they had a hard time doing anything with the game during the demo. Wish my son would let me trade it in for more Wii U and 2ds games.

Yea I absolutely love the PS2. Shadow of the Colossus makes the entire console for me.
