Re: Review: Wii Sports Club (Wii U)

yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyo

I'd rather see a new Wii Sports collection that just uses the gamepad, I don't think this HD throwback to 2006 is going to win over any new believers

My suggestion: Wii Sports Touch
5 new sports,

  • Hang gliding
  • Windsurfing
  • Bodyboarding
  • Dodgeball
  • Netball

Maybe have it as DLC or something. Or while we're at it, where is Pilotwings for the Wii U?

  • A photo & video editing channel
  • Wii games load straight from Wii U menu without having to go into Wii mode first
  • Folders
  • post to miiverse straight from the home screen without having to go to the miiverse site first
  • In-game notifications
  • chat and photo channel in the home menu so that you don't have to quit your current game to use them
  • VC Suspend points 'in the cloud' and shareable between Wii U and 3DS versions
  • TVii in Europe
  • Wii VC games
  • Disc install

and then we're all done!

Re: Nintendo Japan Announces Plans for YouTube Affiliate Program

99% of you do not know what you're talking about.

Twitch feeds have adverts at the beginning, I don't see the controversy here at all. It's a good thing that Nintendo are allowing people to upload their content at all rather than blocking it, and of course they have the right to tag their intellectual property for profit - they created it - the tag is about so much more than ad revenue by the way, but about claiming ownership of the owners work.

The ads that appear will most likely be for other nintendo games anyway. As if that's not enough, an affiliate programme is being announced to SHARE BACK THE PROFITS with the uploader. So who's complaining?

I only hope this is being announced because there's going to more Youtube integration into Wii U and 3DS games!

Re: Fresh Nintendo Wii U Patent Looks Like a Wii Music Game

@BertoFlyingFox

Yeah I think this a good thing - the Wii U needs more casual games and I think it's a good use of the gamepad - if marketed right it could have some of that original 'Wii factor' in that it looks fun to play when you watch others.

Throw in Miiverse sharing and DLC and you have a great title with lots of potential!

Reading this review I realised, Miiverse stamps are the 'achievements' that Nintendo promised - I had thought they would just appear in SM3DW and NES Remix, but it looks like every major Nintendo title will use them now. Cool!

Re: Talking Point: The Logic Behind Game Boy Advance on the Wii U Virtual Console

I still think that before it can be of any practical use for 2nd screen play, the Wii U gamepad needs some kind of range extender add-on to allow it to be played truly anywhere in the house. At the moment, the signal can't travel through walls, making it pretty useless unless you live in an open plan apartment. I'd love to be able to take the pad to another room to play but it just doesn't work. Better still, how about a battery/ROM pack that allows you to take the gamepad out of the house and play VC games? Perfect for long car journeys with kids in the back seat.

Re: Nintendo Was Dead To Us Very Quickly, States EA Source

yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyo

The thing that gets me the most about all this is the perception that the Wii U has failed. As a system, I can't fault it, and the games are great. It's just the idea of the Wii U as a failure became very trendy very quickly, and it was all that was needed for third parties to jump ship. But I really think Nintendo did everything they could to attract them. The recent horror tale circulating the internet lately has been all but debunked by other developers, but the damage was done. And I do still wonder if there's a negativity campaign out there, organic or manufactured...
Like did anyone see this lately? Hate to sound like a conspiracy nut but....

Last time I checked, with 5.5M Wii Us, 4.6M PS4s and 3.2M XBones (according to vgchartz), Nintendo is the MARKET LEADER in this generation. It's time for Nintendo to seize control of the narrative here, and start to aggressively push Wii U on marketing and pricing and maintain its lead.

Wii U isn't dead, people! Nintendo is actually WINNING! (for now)
