@AussieMcBucket I was thinking that competition authorities would dislike a company managing products always undercutting "competitors" selling them - but perhaps I'm being utopian! Esp. given that those little cards exist where you can buy some digital goods in physical stores.
@AussieMcBucket digital is the same price as physical because otherwise brick and mortar stores would go nuts and refuse to stock anything. And perhaps local authorities that look at monopoly situations would start raising eyebrows too.
They should keep the interface, but each game should be free DLC - I feel like that would use infrastructure and systems they already have and be minimal work for them?
My own purchase: The PowerA case is 15 rather than 21 currency units and is perfectly serviceable, hard grey fabriccy, with space for 10 cartridges on an internal flap that covers the screen, and that doubles as a stand if you want to prop your Switch 2 up on it to be 2% more secure than just the built-in stand
Could they not also have an option to release on switch-1-class cards, which are cheaper to manufacture, but then would require initial installing? That would keep prices down, make the game preservation afficionados happy, not require internet downloads, etc etc?
This is identical to the piranha plant one, same resolution, same privacy shutter, same detaching capability for handheld play, just … boring?
Are they using this to A/B test the whimsy of their audience?
This is the only thing that explains the writing on the front of these Edition boxes and the previous reporting from Nintendo reps - red carts are backwards compatible and have the S1 game on them, but also work at full microsd-express-like read speeds on S2
Are they putting all the GC ISOs in the Classics app?! That kinda makes sense for GB/NES/SNES apps because the ROMs are comparatively tiny, but this new GC app is gonna balloon to be enormous unless they switch to an in-app downloader (or just release no more games)
They should make it free on the store, so long as you have a payment card registered, so the "value" they get is introducing new people to the store and making sure they are ready to pay for other games in future
Although have to wonder - what about cart speeds?
If you buy the physical switch 1 version and get the downloadable upgrade, it must put all the files on your Switch 2 for the promised faster loading times?
Which kinda suggests this box will have a red cart in for the fast loading too? But the text contradicts that - suggesting you get a black cart and somehow it upgrades? Forced install here too?
Unless both versions are present on a red cart in this box, and the switch 1 can read it at slow speeds?!

@FlyingDunsparce I didn't expect anything less/more. Otherwise they might have patched widescreen in! And maybe some bloom lighting! And, oh, wait…
@HammerGalladeBro people in the comments are reporting not the adapter, just the new NSO controller
