Admittedly, most times I want to roll back the clock I'm using something modern, such as the Switch or whatever. However, I've still got my old NES that my father bought back at release still hooked up to a CRT tv that I boot up every once in a while to get that classic feeling back. I feel it's tied to certain games and the controller. If I'm going to play Metroid, I NEED that old rectangle controller in hand.
"You wanna play some Boggle or Super Mario Brothers?" Greatest line you can say to a woman to get her ~in the mood~. A Xeno pickup line may have to settle for 2nd place.
I've always thought of the Fallen Arm as the point you would have to switch from Disc 1 to 2 if this were released earlier. Specifically, when you walk into Junks and Miqol says that he wants you to kill Egil. The screen fades to black for the chapter end. Every time I play through I think the screen should say, "Please insert Disc 2"
@masterLEON I hope you mean Xenoblade based amiibo... Xenoblade X most definitely came out well after amiibo were introduced, even given the Japan release.
So, after the update, is it worth purchasing now? I held off because I heard the initial release was disappointing. I mean, I'll likely wait for an inevitable sale still, but I just need to know is it worth putting money up for it?
@VoidofLight Come on now... you know Tetsuya Takahashi better than that! Both Xenogears and Xenosaga were supposed to be part of a series spanning like, what... a billion games? (haha) Now that he has a version of this "franchise" that's selling huge, he's obviously going to take advantage and make all of it tie together!
@batmanbud2 Not at all. SO FAR... so far X isn't connected to the numbered trilogy. Though, that may (and likely) will change going forward. The other tricky part is WHERE it would fit in. So, for now, no you don't have to play the numbered ones, but could change by the time X2 hits sometime down the road.
Absolutely love Conker. I remember when it came out, the internet was still new and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't being advertised anywhere at that time. I'd look for reviews, but Nintendo Power and (at the time called Gamesages) IGN were really the only spots. Took me a while to learn WHY Nintendo was not advertising... haha!
@ChromaticDracula Wow... and here I thought I was alone in the world! I still own my original Quest 64 cartridge. Yah, that game and any Xeno game only have the idea that they both are RPGs in common. You say you've played Xeno 1, and Xeno X is fairly similar in combat. The big difference is you have 2 primary weapons that you can swap mid-battle; all the Arts you can use, they are still present. Big difference between Xeno 1 and Xeno X is that X is insanely customisable... like seriously insane.
For those upset with NintendoLife on "spoiling," please understand that they are speculating on a trailer FROM Nintendo. Literally anyone could view that trailer and form a similar opinion.
As the article states, it could be something else as well.
If you're going to mad at anyone, it's Nintendo themselves for releasing a trailer that has a glimpse at a potential ranch.
I'll defend this until I die. Breath of the Wild was a love-letter to the franchise. For newbies, it was a new introduction to the series that embraced the popularity of the open-world concept. For oldies, it had all the nods to previous games. With Tears of the Kingdom, they decided to history-build this new world to mixed results. Regardless, Breath and Tears should be seen as their own universe that has naming and story coincidences tied to the the other timeline(s).
@OctolingKing13 Game Informer have been Nintendo-bashing since day one. If a game isn't absolutely groundbreaking by Nintendo, they unquestionably hate it, and have been doing so for years.
After seeing Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, I have faith in Wes Ball being able to film this. I've not seen the Maze Runner movies, but Kingdom was clearly done with some love. I think he'll do well with this, too.
Bought the original day one; had been drooling over it since it had been announced. The atmosphere alone is absolutely amazing. It's cutesy animations are very misleading, this is a dark game. As the reviewer stated, it's a demanding game that gives no care to your feelings. However, it's rarely if ever unfair. Often, when you die, it's generally your own fault for not being ready (whether it's ammo, or generally understanding where baddies might jump from, etc).
But I will forever hate those little bears. Seriously, don't even bother trying to get them for a long time. Instead, use them as practice shots to get better with the controls for at least the first half of the game.
I'm so glad more people are going to get the chance to play Jet Force Gemini! Such a fantastic game; the music, the atmosphere, cinematics... marvelous. Also, it's one of the few Metroidvania style games I don't mind going back to the same areas multiple times.
I love reading articles and reports about how a group of people consume a product, but then aren't represented IN that product to the same percentage. Ok... so logically it would seem that group isn't putting as high amount of importance on representation as article writers do. For example, I'm white but I still find enjoyment in watching football, basketball, baseball, etc.
Ugh... they went the route of modern popularity and made the text tiny. I don't understand why text-heavy games do that! I play on TV, and have seating that I'm more than 2-inches from the screen. I'll admit I'm not a young sprite, but can games have bigger text for Christ's sake? Why make it so flipping small?!
