Re: Nintendo Says It Won't Compete With Microsoft And Sony In An Acquisitions Arms Race

Investing in themselves is a great idea, and it's what nintendo have been doing for years, they do have some of the greatest ips and talent, I'm also glad that they won't rule out future acquisitions and also wont compete directly buying out publishers willynilly and start bidding wars that they may not be able win as sony and Microsoft can throw larger amounts of money around, but I do fear that if capcom, sega, namco all get bought up by sony or Microsoft and nintendo not having access to the classics (Street Fighter, sonic, pacman) or any new version of a certain companies game will definitely hurt nintendo in the long run especially when partnerships and associations may no longer be possible...

Re: Nintendo's Ready For Acquisitions, When The Time Is Right

I've always wanted Nintendo to acquire capcom as the history, ip and developers are amazing and with a watchful Nintendo eye the games could be even better on both sides, same with namco which Nintendo tried to acquire before,
As always once a developer has been purchased it is extremely unlikely we would see their games on another console, it's not impossible but because capcom has games that go back to the nes the library is massive and as a Nintendo exclusive, Nintendo would benefit and would be stronger!
It could buy ips from konami as it has licensed them off of konami before and if konami want to sell then I would actively pursue them (Hudsonsoft properties also)
Platinum games would be awesome as they have some talented developers and could be another monolithsoft for Nintendo
Koei techmo would be another good buy as they co own the project zero series with them,
The worry is there are so many dormant ips that Nintendo dont use and I think they need to buy a studio full of talent to compliment them and help get quality games out and make full use of their ips

Re: Nintendo Gains Over $2 Billion in Market Value Following Monster Hunter XX Announcement

@ECMIM ahh I see... I'm still thinking about how things would of been if nintendo weren't blocked by the Japanese government from buying namco.. I know stocks and shares change on a whim in either direction but if capcom is worth roughly 1.5 billion and nintendo just added 2 billion in value from a capcom port anouncement I would be doing everything I could to aquire them! ( I know it's never that simple and purely wishful thinking on my behalf) but nintendo would gain a studio with a game library that goes back to the nes days and ip that could be exclusive and when anounced could potentially lead to stocks rising further?

Re: Latest PS4 Sales Figures Take it Past Wii U Life-to-Date Q3 Total

nintendo is in a spot of trouble....it cant be fixed overnight but it can be fixed, they need to farm out their dormant ip's to developers who can help increase the quality game library, throw money at them for exclusives and possibly acquire a couple of game studios that can help them make games that appeal to everyone in areas that are lacking (sports, fps, racing other than mariokart) they just need to keep making games that make people that own a wii u rush out and buy it and people who dont already have the console put it on the list of next purchases and be the reason for buying the console (i believe that mariokart and smash will go along way towards doing this) but we dont really know what nintendo have in store in the future after the 4 or so big relases... i just hope they keep making the quality games and they dont panic and anounce a successor to the wii u for the next couple of years at least or the wii u could very well damage the next console like the saturn did to the dreamcast.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's 3DS and Wii U Strategies Face Rather Different Challenges

i genuinely believe that nintendo has been hit with a serious case of bad luck, from releasing the wii u and not being able to get the games out for it quick enough to capitalize on the year head start on the ps4 and the x1, to ignoring the importance of 3rd party publishers and how helpful it would of been to have games releasing whilst nintendo were struggling with the transition to hd gaming. nintendo just need to keep doing what it has done best since the days of the nes and thats continue to make amazing games and the people will play!
