Re: Mario + Rabbids Director Recalls "Harsh" Ubisoft Comment On 'Sparks Of Hope'

saturn3

Waiting for the Switch 2 wouldn't have solved my problems with Sparks, the most disappointing sequel I have ever played.

The original had tightly constructed levels, and Sparks missed the boat on that. Plus, when you advertise, say, a hundred Sparks, but they're really just flavors of five different kinds, you only have 20 Sparks and five different ways to apply them. A little deceptive and disappointing.

I would have rather had just had the exact mechanics of the original, maybe with a couple extra characters, not a Poochie like Edge, and lots of well constructed tactical levels.

I just felt that my money was wasted on Sparks.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Strategy Games

Mario + Rabbids is one of the best games I have ever played in my life. And I am very old.

Turn bass strategy that doesn't require to keyboard. And not even, it would be better with a keyboard like XCOM or Baldur's Gate 3. It's really designed for the controller. And it works soooo well.

The Sparks sequel, however, is one of the worst. Avoid.

@PurpulTyeDye
Granting RT is just an aggregate of movie reviewers, Deadpool and wolverine has a rotten tomatoes of like 75, Titanic almost 90, and this movie has a rotten tomatoes of 7.

Seven.

I would like to suggest that the expectations of things that you are "sure" of could use refinement. In other words, you are so wrong.

Re: Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Final DLC "Coming Later In 2023", Here's A Teaser

@AtlanteanMan

I think we have pretty much the exact same outlook on these two games. Let's just put it this way, I played through the first one and its DLC twice and loved both it both times. The second one felt like a chore. And the map suuuuuucks.

The battles were way too easy, the Sparks made the players way too overpowered, and there was no complexity to the battles in the second game. You could win them all in one or two turns.

The skill tree is awful. You can only fill up maybe one column, so it's really disappointing to have all these skills that you can never use. It was not like that in the first game. You could just about max everything in time. And that was fun.

And then there's Edge. Oh, Edge. "Poochie's dead!"

Re: Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Receives Its First Title Update On Switch

The first game is probably my favorite game on the switch so far. It just really is something I enjoy even though I'm not a Mario or rabbids fan. At all.

The new game is nowhere near as good. That said, I am pretty addicted to finishing it right now.

And I was stuck slightly off screen every time I loaded a stage just as described in the update notes. I happened to relaunch the program, got the update, and immediately was unstuck!

So I guess it works!
