@Timsworld I want to defend Nintendo out of loyalty but uh...I feel like I can’t. Just the explanation of “We want to make sure we get it right” when it comes to unveiling Switch’s online and VC (Netflix style or other) was puzzling at best.
+1 on Runner 3 mentions in this thread. Already preordered the physical version (so hyped!) and if its release schedule holds it’s due out Q1. It is easily my most anticipated title of 2018.
Who knows, perhaps it will eclipse my End is Nigh geek out level achieved last year : ).
Dear Nintendo, there is no reason to lie about Switch Rewards “coming soon”. You could just replace it with “whenever we feel like it”. Remember, honesty is the best policy 😄👍.
@ppb76 Haha respect. I have never bought so many titles in such little time, think I have about 30 (and that’s avoiding titles I really want to play/try but I’m trying to keep the backlog small!)
@WhistleFish No doubt we all have our favorite genres and Switch’s library certainly has no shortage of platformers (great for some, not for others). Cool part is now that 3rd parties are more on board than ever (flood gates will open in 2018/2019) I think we may all find ourselves with the best problem: Too many games too little time.
Sunk in almost 4 hours already. terostrike nailed it w/ his earlier comment. I was MEGA (side note where’s Runner3?!) hyped after completing a particularly difficult section last night (no spoilers) and was literally babbling to my wife about it because the container of me was not large enough to fully hold in the legendary feeling of accomplishment!
Downloaded this and didn't have time to give it a good first run, so I did something I rarely do, read about history! I love the fact that even before playing all the anecdotes, back story and lore sucked me into this game even without playing it yet. But that will change come this evening!
@frogopus Bravo! I was absolutely floored when Gonner cracked my own personal top 10 earlier this year. Also for anyone wondering about Hyper Light Drifter - watch the YouTube doc and try to avoid the feels learning about the backstory.
I don't check for an update anymore because if I see "coming soon" one more time I am going to Kool Aid man through the wall (totally rational response)
I remember during the 90s all the uproar about violence in video games and its impact on young men, and thinking (and still do) that that's bull pucky. And that if anything, those games provided an outlet/vent for those with anger challenges (i.e. not harming actual people) while they address said anger challenges.
But games like this, can you see a young girl playing it and getting some value/benefit from the experience? I didn't think so.
I'm not hip, and so after looking up what the hell SJW (and I'm a social worker mind you) means, I am decently bummed. I now understand further why public discord had become increasingly more biting, negative, or just generally more salty and apathetic - for many it may feel like the only communication that's fully safe.
The "mistake" is an economic analysis of bundles that actually includes the company embracing a humanistic bent and celebrating the consumer for their brand loyalty. However I'm surprised no one is backing Fred up here. It is painfully obvious that Nintendo has gotten more money hungry (I know, it's a business, that's the frickin' point).
I guess I should be praising Nintendo for their business savy? Or perhaps marveling at the extent of our brand loyalty : ). Hey, all I know is this, playing Breath of the Wild in March after attending the midnight launch (my first) at Best Buy was ******* transcendent.
While it's been said many times already on this board, I feel Nintendo's E3 was a downer. A lot of it is about personal preference and opinion of course, but I feel like nintendo is essentially moving on without needing to appease its more old school fanbase (of which I am a part of). Don't get me wrong, there will still be a few killer AAA titles in Wii U's lifespan (many of them essentially HD versions of games we already played, granted with some potential for major improvement, I'm looking at you f-zero 32 players online). But perhaps the bottomline is a lack in novelty, which makes sense with the focus on new ways to play instead of new technology and/or franchises.

@WhistleFish So I guess you’re definitely NOT hyped for Runner3 😋

The Switch is the gift that keeps on giving (until my wallet is empty haha)
Re: Hollow Knight Has Been Pushed Back to Early 2018
Between this and Runner3 I’m golden for 2018. And who knows what other surprises are in store : ).
Re: Super Mario 64-Style Platformer Ginger: Beyond The Crystal Is Coming To Switch
Props to this forum for not being salty. Gotta say though, don’t think that bizarre word combo of a title is doing this game any service.
Re: OJO, The 'World's First' Switch Micro-Projector, Launches Its Indiegogo Campaign
I could see this selling if the Switch, ya know, wasn’t a Switch.
