Mario 3 is one of the most overrated piles of garbage. Mario 2 is much better and the original is more nostalgic.

Why compare it to 2 of the absolute worst Metroid type of games? Finishing Axiom Verge was like having my teeth pulled. Hollow Knight was 30 hours too long and boring as hell to look at and listen to. Unless you have no life, 10 hours maximum please.

Lol that the Galaxy games aren't #1 and #2. They're by far the best Wii games. Maybe the best video games ever made.

Metroid style or level based?

For goodness sake. The story is awful. This game is no more then a 7/10. It's a VIDEO GAME... Not a damn book! Not a damn movie! I want game play, not boring dialogue.

Can the story be skipped because if not that's an automatic -2 off any score in my book!?

This is much better then the horrendous 1/2 Genie garbage and pretty bad Seven Sirens! Pirate's Curse is still the best though.

Been waiting for this and seems like a 10/10. Lenght is definitely something to take into account but totally opposite. The reason why Hollow Knight is one of the worst Metroidvanias ever bringing it from an 8/10 to a 4/10. Way too long and just drags on! A game should only be 10 - 20 hours at most unless you have no life and just play games.

I guess even the developers forgot there own Teslagrad 2 World to the West. Lol

@Stu13 The update was available in NA at least 3 days ago when I downloaded it.

The developers should downgrade the graphics to the exact graphics as Curse of the Moon and I bet the game would not only run better but be better in every way possible. The graphics were better looking in Curse of the Moon anyway.

I Love Picross and I was anxious to buy this but these games are so inferior to last week's release. I advise everyone to skip this and get Piczle Cross Adventure. If this is rated an 8/10 then Piczle is a perfect 10/10!

Oh hell yes. This will be the second game I get in 2020. The other being Doom 64. Only 2 games but 1 perfect game and 1 sure to be awesome/perfect game.

@Darlinfan No because the Load Times and Cutscenes are game killing to me and the Glory Kills seem out of place.

@Lordplops Trolling? I'm praising Doom 64 under the Doom 64 review as being even better then rated here. Sorry if I hurt your feelings but I don't care for many new games and Doom 2016 was bad IMO. Doom 64 is second only to the original Doom. Doom 2 is good too.

Tide you over? Screw Doom Eternal. This is a real FPS like the original Doom and Doom 2. Eternal will only be more nonsense like Doom 2016.

How much story is there? I love Picross and this looks great but I hate any story in a video game. I'll deal with a little but I leave my stories for movies and Gameplay for games. I've already played most of the other Picross games.

This game doesn't need a demo. It's the best video game released in years.

The game sucked. Soul Blazer is perfect. Illusion of Gaia was pretty good. It seemed the Trilogy went downhill big time. I'm so sick of people praising this Terranigma garbage because it wasn't released here. It was for good reason! Oh and Actraiser is better then all. Even that sequel, though super hard, was good.

@Chunkboi79 Blasphemous was actually ugly to play, the character was sluggish, the world was boring. The map was done bad, every area was the same as it came around in a circle. No indicators for anything you missed, on the map. Too many item screens. The enemies had only 3 types, slide to avoid, jump over, or block and attack. Very easy if you pay attention. The bosses were pretty simple. Too many better Metroid like games out there!

@PlusFan Perfect mini review. Although I agree the bosses are easy, I find them fun. Just like the DKC bosses. My only complaints are a weak musical score and not much variety in worlds, I mean 9 beach levels, etc. I still say 9/10 for how brilliant this game is for only $20. I would pay $50 for something this good.

@Chunkboi79 I'm serious. This game is a ton of fun. I couldn't stop playing. I think most of the reviewers on this site are morons. They overrate so much garbage. After reading this review, I realized that they word things the same exact way as other reviewers. I'm not believing they play most of the games that they review. Who in their right mind enjoyed Blasphemous and that got a 9 out of 10 here. I guess these kids enjoy jumping on the bandwagon of hyped games. Lol

The recent Blasphemous is a 4 - game was horrible and wasn't even hard like was written here. I'm not even sure these people are playing these games more then copying other reviewers.

Great game. So excited to play again. And IMO, Ittle Dew 2 is the best game on Switch and the true next Zelda unlike Breth of the Wild. Any dungeon, any order. The key word is dungeon. And oh boy does the game get tough to 100%

@andywitmyer I watched videos of the story mode. It didn't look like a world map but that would be awesome. I am just so upset that Nintendo could have made a full Mario game with the awesome looking Mario 3D World levels in this game.

This does not deserve a 10. An 8 at most for the fact that I'm sure there are people like me who don't want to build the own levels or play unprofessional levels. I wish there was a real 2D Mario game more like Mario World with a full world to explore and tons of Nintendo made levels. The creation mode should be second priority. Lazy Nintendo!

Now this is Resident Evil. Scary as hell with it's fixed camera angles and not the horrendous changes like the recent Resident Evil 2 remake.

Breath of the Wild killed Zelda for me. I hated it that much. However Ittle Dew 2 is so much like the original Zelda which is by far the best Zelda that it more then made up for Nintendo's mistake. Also Elliot Quest is superb. I played through it 6 times since it released on the WiiU. Minit is another excellent choice but it's over too quickly.

@AndrewJ Yeah seriously. Another s*** list on Nintendo Life. Missing by far the best Shmup on Switch. They need some writers older then 30.

Anyone who doesn't want the original Castlevania games everytime they're released, should not play video games. They are some of the games that define video games. I feel bad for newer generations and the 99% of garbage that is released.

Still better then Megaman 11 with it's crappy graphics/controls/gimics. Capcom could learn from this game! My skin still crawls with the double gear system.

@Peterjr1 Resident Evil 2 was pretty crappy imo but only because it lost the appeal of the original unlike what Link's Awakening seems to be achieving.

@carlos82 it is completely not faithful to the original. I actually enjoyed the still camera angles and sluggish controls. It made the game scary as it was hard to control. The graphics are too crisp for this type of game. The gritty graphics just have a more disturbing feel. This is where options differentiate. I think Resident Evil 2 is one of the worst Remakes. Resident Evil did a much better job as a remake as it felt like the original. This is what Link's Awakening seems to be capturing. I would hate it if they turned it into a Breath of the Wild type of style.

@DarkKirby Resident Evil 2 was an awful remake imo. It lost the appeal of the original game. Link's Awakening looks to follow quality remakes like Wonderboy, Crash, and Spyro that kept the feel of the original games.

This is a great looking Remake so yes. Especially if a crappy remake like Resident Evil 2 was more then $30.

Yes Super Mario Kart SNES is by far the best one. The original Zelda is the best one. Mario World is the best Mario game. Super Castlevania IV is the best one. This game is excellent. Hollow knight and BotW are overrated crap. It's called an opinion and my belief that people like these newer games is because they're children under 30.

100 times better then Breath of the Wild. So I guess you're saying BotW is 6/10 the most!

Hollow Knight falls into the category of no replay value. It's way too long and there's very little incentive to play it again! Plus it's not fun getting lost so often in my favorite type if game.

F****** children don't know a good game. They like trash like Breath of the Wild and don't understand puzzle games like this. You idiots would have criticized genious games like Shadowgate and Uninvited.

What about Dragon's Lair Trilogy coming out today. I hope that it was delayed and didn't forget to be mentioned. I mean after all in my opinion it's better then games like Breath of the Wild. Sometimes I feel like this site is ran by 20 year old kids.

@aaronsullivan I judge games on Gameplay. Story means nothing. In fact, the more story, especially when you can't skip long drawn out cut scenes, the worse a game is. Games that take longer then 10 hours to 100% are usually worse. Very little replay value when there's no incentive to waste 30+ playing a game. Hence why Mario Galaxy is 100 times better then Mario Odyssey.
