Re: Nintendo Acknowledges Network Issues and Suggests Patience

@Webby-sama Speak for yourself. I'm currently writing an essay for my winter session class. What are you doing? lol I won't respond to your weak arguments anymore. Nintendo is shooting themselves in the digital foot. I wish it wasn't the case, but it is. Atari lost market share in the 80's because they couldn't keep up with the times. Look whats happening now.

Ok. Update: e-shop is UP (for me, at least.) Not holding my breath. I live in New Mexico (U.S.) This was followed by a system announcement that Pokemon Bank would be indefinitely suspended until server issues could be ironed out. Those darn Pokemon ruin everything! lol

Edit: Glad i didn't hold my breath. Error message just popped up on the e-shop main screen and said to restart. Undergoing maintenance again. I'm guessing this will be the new norm for the next few days.

@Webby-sama You're totally 100% wrong. Nintendo saw this coming, and they could have been better prepared to handle the onslaught of users. If they intend for us all to buy digital, this is very much the opposite of giving us encouragement to shell out our hard earned dollars for digital products. Just another example why I don't buy anything in the e-shop that costs more than $10. Physical copies of software will continue to reign supreme until they get all this mess sorted out. I'm calling Nintendo tomorrow if the e-shop isn't back up by then. I will ask for a refund for the 3DS cash card that they redeemed and then promptly closed shop after they received the funds 2 days ago.

Merry Christmas.

@Gamer83 Agreed. It looks really bad for Nintendo. The fanboys don't understand that in order to guarantee longevity as a company, Nintendo needs to step up to the plate and bolster their offerings (servers) etc. New users will be left out in the cold. I don't mind waiting, I know that I will be able to access it eventually, but new users have no clue what's going on, just that for 3 days the e-shop hasn't worked. I know of 3 people who returned their systems because they and/or their children could not access the e-shop and download their games or sign up for access. What a shame.

Error Code: 007-5503 "currently undergoing maintenance." Officially on the 3rd day down now in the U.S. Why don't they shut down the e-shop in Japan and give our country a chance to use it? I just don't get it. A lot of you say 'stop whining' but a lot of us have redeemed 3DS cash cards and the e-shop took those, then shut down on us. A lot of new customers are trying to set up their 3DS's, and their kids are not able to use their systems. Nintendo got their money and ran, at least that's the impression others may be getting (and new customers, too.) I understand it's Christmas and everyone is off trying to connect to the shop, but that doesnt mean Nintendo didn't see this coming and couldn't have upgraded servers. So please do not tell us (new and old users) how to feel. The least you could do is offer some sympathy. Thanks.

Re: Guide: Using Miiverse And The Nintendo Network ID On Your 3DS

Ok, cool. Streetpass Plaza update seems to be letting me update now. At least, its said "preparing" for a much longer time than 3 seconds. And it said I needed to free up blocks for the update (I just installed "Louvre" and had to make spaces for it, so I know that is probably the truth! lol) So yeah, just a heads up. Oh, and the progress bar is now moving! Good news!

Edit: Streetpass Plaza update complete! Finally It needs 104 blocks, not much. No visible change, I guess it just tied it to my MiiVerse account.

Where do you download this? Is it in the e-shop now? I haven't seen it advertised. (edit:) Oh, I see now. You have to "search" for Louvre in the e-shop. I thought it would be advertised on the front page at least.

I love this game! As a kid, my dad had this game in his barbershop and I, of course, was allowed multiple free plays since he owned it. I wish he had kept it, but it was sold off to pay off debt years later. Anyhow, great game (imho) and good ol' fashioned Nintendo fun It could use more varied gameplay, but I'm giving it a huge score because of its addicting gameplay! 7/10

Re: The 3DS YouTube App Has Finally Gone Live

@Furik I didn't even think of that! Great for game walkthroughs on the go! Great point. And yeah, people need to stop whining. This app will get better with updates. Just open your laptop to have a better experience, this is about convenience, not superior experience.

Re: Review: Word Wizard 3D (3DS eShop)

grumblegrumble

Ha! I could have placed a bet on this not being good. Just looking at the game screens in the preview on the e-shop says enough. If you guys really want a great word game for great value, purchase Word Puzzler XL for $5 and you get unlimited games that will last you pretty much forever.

Re: Review: Street Gangs (3DS eShop / NES)

Can't wait to play this again! I played it once many moons ago (uhem!) through a video rental store, can't wait to download it for $5, i remember it being a kinda sorta double dragon clone but much better than double dragon imho with the added story elements.

Re: Nintendo's Miiverse Social Network Finally Makes Its Way To The 3DS

grumblegrumble

Yes! FINALLY! What took so long? Nintendo needs to hire a tech adviser, maybe one that used to work for Apple or something. They need to stay "ahead" of the curve, not years behind, but you know what, I'm not complaining, just offering up some friendly advice. I'll always be a Nintendo fan boy, just like I'm still an Atari fan boy

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Safe and Family-Friendly Focus is Integral to Its Fortunes

grumblegrumble

While I understand that Nintendo wants to be one of the only dominant video game makers who embrace family values and protect kids, I think in ways it is holding them back from the online integration and universal access that other game companies have already pioneered. Nintendo is going to get left behind, just like Atari did when Nintendo took over its market in the mid 80's because Nintendo was innovative.
