Re: Review: Spot It! Mean Machines (DSiWare)

@Philip LMAO! You know it. It's fun, though. I got the first one when it came out and thoroughly enjoyed looking through the piles of toys and junk. Although it does remind me of rummaging through my parent's closet as a kid hehe

This is an amazing game, and if you are a Word Fanatic like I am (I even bought Crosswords Plus) I would highly recommend this game as an add on. It's amazing in its own right, and has kept me coming back for more every day since it was first released on the e-shop. Great bargain and nonstop fun!

Re: Nintendo Reveals Its Version of iTunes For 3DS

grumblegrumble

I wouldn't be surprised if this doesnt come to the U.S. iTunes has pretty much cornered that market. It would be nice to be able to download songs that you could share across your devices, tho, but I'm sure the iTunes Store wouldn't pick up on that new single you downloaded on your Nintendo 3DS. ;/

I got Puzzler World XL instead of Gradius (for now, anyway) and I am totally liking Puzzler World XL far more than I thought I would. It contains many more puzzle types than Crosswords + (which I love) and for $5, you really can't go wrong there if you're a puzzle fanatic like me.

Re: Puzzler World XL

Hrm. Just got Crosswords Plus recently and I'm addicted to it so I probably won't be getting this one. Still curious to see if it's good though. Edit: I got it, persuaded by users in the thread for this game, and so far, I think it's well worth $5. With the variety of puzzles offered, you really can't go wrong. Plus, there's a glitzy wheel you get to spin when you get a puzzle correct! If they paraded a dancing elephant wearing a mini skirt across the screen it would be even better. lol

Re: Developer Interview: Nnooo Talks About Working With Nintendo and Moving to the 3DS eShop

It's so funny you should write an article about Nnooo and dsiware/3ds eshop. They haven't released an original game since My Diary, correct? That was such a long time ago! Over a year? They really need to get with the program and have a new game/app out, like, yesterday. Don't get me wrong. I love Nnooo and their apps and games. But why haven't they made an original 3DS game or app ever? In a fast moving world of technology, they may be soon forgotten if they don't step up to the proverbial plate.

Re: Review: Mario Golf (Game Boy Color)

@TheDreamingHawk I just got a very cool instruction on how to do this. Check out the Mario Golf thread in the 3DS VC forums.. It's quite easy once you get the hang of it! I wish the instruction manual was that easy to understand (haha.) Now I'm getting hole in ones and hitting par! Good luck..

Re: Review: Mario Golf (Game Boy Color)

I love this game, but I still can't quite figure out how to putt right. On the first hole (practice hole) it took me 17 shots to get the ball in. LOL. I know that's abnormal, but can someone provide a clear understanding of how to swing your club? I read the manual, tried that, didn't work. I'm loving the look and feel of this game, though. Great review!

Re: Review: Crosswords Plus (3DS)

@KneehighPark I totally disagree. The anagrams were not a misstep, I enjoy playing them. As a huge word game lover, this is the perfect package of word games for young and old alike. I feel your review sells the game a little short. If you play the game enough, you do start to see Mario references here and there, too. There's a 'Nintendo' themed crossword puzzle, too, I just played. If everything were Mario themed, I think I would probably want to jump out a window.

Re: Review: Crosswords Plus (3DS)

People keep talking about Crosswords Plus being a rip-off for $29 (and you get a digital download of Donkey Kong Original Version, too).. Back in the day, many games in the 80's for the NES and beyond cost upwards of $40-50. Considering that was 30 years ago, this is a great value for a 3-D Crossword game in 2012 (and a Donkey Kong game, to boot) in my opinion. Mario Golf, which was just re-released today via the e-shop for 3DS cost $30 back in the day, too. Look back at history before you make judgments about today's prices and standards of value for money.

Re: Review: Crosswords Plus (3DS)

I had a feeling this one would get scored low, but its turned out to be one of the games I can't put down and I'm addicted to since I downloaded it. I would give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. As a huge Word puzzle lover, it suits every need I have. I don't need 'bells and whistles' to thoroughly enjoy a word game. It improves upon its predecessor by adding word search and spotpass puzzles and the word of the day features. Great game if you ask me!

Re: Crosswords Plus

Awesome game! Loving it!! I especially love the weekly puzzles we get for free from Nintendo and the SpotPass puzzles. So many more ways to play. I love the WordSearch too

Re: First Impressions: Paper Mario Sticker Star

grumblegrumble

I played the original Paper Mario on a friends' Wii recently and WAS NOT impressed. Seemed too baby-like and easy, too weird for my liking. It takes Mario out of his element, out of the straightfoward level where you know what to expect. Scoring wasn't the same. All of those things made me hate it. Let's see if I can be proven wrong this time.

Re: Review: New Art Academy (3DS)

I'll definitely be getting this! Colors 3D was a let down for me, of sorts. The schematic and layers are too complicated for me to understand, and i often get frustrated with the 3D layering, etc. This looks wonderful! I love that you have so many tools at your disposal, pastels, etc, canvases. I purchased the first two original Art Academy dsiware programs and loved them. This one is for sure on my download list next time I have the $$ to get it.
