Re: Nintendo Download: 24th May 2012 (North America)

grumblegrumble

Anyone who "passes" on Game and Watch Gallery 2 is really missing out Not only is it a piece of gaming history but it's a delicious romp of mini games and it's gorgeous in color I am so happy this is out in North America today. I downloaded it in a heartbeat and I am thrilled to have it

Re: Talking Point: DS Games Deserve Digital Distribution on 3DS

grumblegrumble

@spacekappa I agree! DS games look bad on the 3DS. They really need to work on that on the next version, install a chip or something that updates those graphics in older carts. Is that possible? Btw, I still play DS games all the time on my 3DS. Clearance racks at Target and such. lol I just got Bejeweled 3 and love it (for like $5) Anyways, I'm sure the next 3DS successor won't even play DS games, seems they are slowly phasing out the games that played on 2 systems before each new hardware upgrade.

Re: Sudoku by Nikoli

grumblegrumble

Has anyone downloaded this? The only difference I see between this and the other Sudoku games is that this one has far less puzzles than the other bazillion titles in the series, but also features 3-D graphics. Just how does that make Sudoku good enough to warrant a 4.99 purchase price?

Re: Review: Bird Mania 3D (3DS eShop)

grumblegrumble

Great score! Thanks for all your reviews, Chicken_Brutus! We do appreciate it, even if you get a little huffy sometimes (lol, who doesn't.) I thought this game deserved much higher than I was hearing reported in the Bird Mania forum thread.. a 2.5 out of 10 on one site. I just can't believe that! This is a great game and people need to try it out and see just how fun it is. It won't take your breath away but for $2, it comes pretty dang close! Tweet tweet!

Re: Bird Mania 3D

grumblegrumble

Just purchased this on an impulse (how can you beat the price?) Well, it's great so far! I would score this pretty high. The graphics are great (3-D could be better but..), sound is awesome, there's a high score leader board so you can track your achievements and progress. Only thing I hate is if you hit something (a bird a rock, etc) you die instantly. But other than that, it's a great game! I would give it a score past the 7 mark.

Re: Iwata Defends Identical Digital and Retail Prices

grumblegrumble

@Victoria Exactly!! Well, I'm guessing we're not keeping Americans employed when we Americans buy these retail boxed games, but still, I think that the physical retail copy is best, because you can always have it with you as well, and then sell it after a bit and let someone else enjoy the fun

Re: Iwata Defends Identical Digital and Retail Prices

grumblegrumble

Oh yeah, you can 'have it with you at all times' alright, but what about the size of your SD card and all the crap that's eventually going to fill up on it? What do we do then? Just delete it and then have issues downloading something you digitally own only (Tetris Party Live, anyone?) suddenly vanish in the e-shop. No, thanks, Nintendo! I'll buy my games in the store. That way I can keep them forever, I have the awesome box and cover art it came in, and I can play it forever and ever and ever and ever more And then sell it! lol What a load of crap this is turning out to be!

Re: 'Majority' of Nintendo Games to be Released Digitally

grumblegrumble

@rjejr That's so sad. It's always cheaper to buy USED than to buy new or digital, even. Online sales are going to continue to suffer unless Nintendo rectifies this and charges less for digital downloads than full cartridge purchases, otherwise, I would rather have the box too if it's the same price

Re: 'Majority' of Nintendo Games to be Released Digitally

grumblegrumble

If I'm going to be buying digital full-scale cartridge games online digitally, then they better be cheaper than buying them retail, otherwise, I hardly see the point. While I do embrace digital downloads and the e-shop, make it WORTHWHILE, Nintendo, otherwise, your e-shop games that you also sell in stores are going to suffer on the digital front. Make them cheaper since we're saving you materials and production costs!

Re: Chuck E. Cheese's Arcade Room

grumblegrumble

Ok. Can u guys confirm how many mini games this game has? Are there any unlockable games? I hope that the few games I see in the trailer isn't it, but considering UFO put this out, I wouldn't be surprised if that's all there is to it. I guess this is geared towards toddlers?

Re: Review: Colors! 3D (eShop)

grumblegrumble

I thought I was going to absolutely adore this 3dsware release, but I have to admit, it's a bit complicated drawing several layers to a painting. I'm a drawer, painter (artist) so I am going to give this another shot before making any further judgments.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda (Wii Virtual Console / NES)

grumblegrumble

I spent many, many hours of my youth burning down every single tree and bombing every single block in this game. I give it a 10/10 because it filled me with such hope and inspiration for things to come later on in my life. Wonderful characters, soundtrack, graphics, and replayability, even a second quest Have you played as "Zelda" yet?

Re: Review: SpeedThru: Potzol's Puzzle (3DS eShop)

grumblegrumble

Just got this and it's amazing! The graphics are pretty great, the 3D is outstanding for this type of game (Tetris, are you listening???) and most of all, if you like Tetris or puzzlers, you'll love this one, too! I give this a 10/10. A greatly crafted game with a unique story. A+

Re: SpeedThru: Potzol's Puzzle

grumblegrumble

Fantastic game! If you like Tetris or similar puzzle-style games, you're gonna love this! The graphics are incredible, imho, and this game is one of my new favorites! We have had some great 3DS ware releases lately. I give this a 10/10!

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th April 2012 (North America)

grumblegrumble

@blahblah That is very true! I never thought about that. Quality vs. Quantity! Which would you prefer? I would actually prefer a week like THIS over a week of 5 creepy bad cheesy overpriced dsiware and crapshovelware that we sometimes get. This week is great! Ketzal is an incredible game! Please go download it immediately! Not kidding! I give it a 10.

If you like Tetris or puzzle games similar to that, you will love Ketzal's Corridors!

Re: Review: Penguin Patrol (DSiWare)

grumblegrumble

This got a much higher score than I thought it would!

"Ice, Ice, Baby..." song on repeat in my head.

Just downloaded this and am loving it. Great game for a cheap $2. Grab it if you got the room and the spare change.

We should also note that these "Penguin" type style games go back to the early 80's and SEGA/Atari's "Pengo." I remember playing that and it seems kind of similar to this game, too. Movement-based maze-type puzzles with penguins and eskimos. It's not a new novel idea, but it's done pretty well here! 8/10 for me.

Re: Interview: Collecting Smiles - Colors! 3D

grumblegrumble

Got this today on impulse and I'm sure it's great, but it keeps saying "Not enough room on SD card" when I try to start a new painting. I keep freeing up space, too, deleting apps and such, and no go still. If Collecting Smiles is listening on here, please direct me to a solution that doesn't involve deleting everything but your Colors! 3D program. Thanks..

Re: Game of the Month: March 2012 - Kid Icarus: Uprising

grumblegrumble

Omg, u guys are so much further along in the game than me. I'm on chapter 4! I'm also playing Nintendogs + Friends, though, and KI:U and replaying Zelda Spirit tracks as the same time (and trying to play Sakuro Samurai (sp?) when I can, too.) But I only play about an hour a day, so this could take me years. lol!

Re: Mutant Mudds Demo Coming This Week

grumblegrumble

You know, right before this game came out I had already purchased a 7.99 game and a full cartridge game $30.. So I did not purchase Mutant Mudds even though it's got a huge retro feel (seemingly) and I normally would have downloaded it, I guess I was just looking for a reason NOT to shell out more money. LOL. But upon hearing everything here, and downloading the demo the other day for this (my first Demo download) I have to admit it has grown on me and I will be purchasing it soon! Thanks for all the reviews and impressions, guys.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

grumblegrumble

I am playing this again for the 3rd time through. Just started tonight. Wonderful, wonderful game that we must not forget. Looking forward to the new Zelda 3DS title in the works! @SkywardLink98 Yes, the spirit flute can be quite tough. The microphone on my 3DS (and others, I hear) doesn't pick up your breath as easily as my older DSi and DS did. This is still one of my favorite DS games, though.

Re: Review: Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS)

grumblegrumble

@rogerwilco That's the single reason I wouldn't give it a 10/10. That disregard for right or left handedness, and the controls. They aren't horrible but they should have either reconfigured the controls or released this with a new 3DS with both circle pads already in place. The Circle Pad Pro is a wonky mess, but this game is incredible despite these two things. I think it's going to be the best 3DS game of 2012, at least a frontrunner/contender!
