This is super cool! I'm surprised so many people disliked this game back in the day... I loved Turok 1. I never got into the second one, but I really enjoyed the unique take on FPS that occurred in the first game. Felt like a true action adventure game and was ahead of its time.
Rage Wars is admittedly my favorite, but I would love to try this game again.
Also, Turok 1 was the game that made me realize that the C buttons were meant for movement in FPS games. I used those controls in Perfect Dark and Goldeneye to great effect.
Pretty surprised that people are so hung up on the Gamepad inventory thing. I 100% agree that it would/will? be a sweet feature, but if everyone boycotts because of an honestly minor issue, it will never happen.
I only own Minecraft on PC, and I purchased it like 5+ years ago when it was still in Alpha and only starting to get popular. I've really enjoyed it over the years, although I don't play it much these days. The game is essentially the total opposite of a "dull toolbox." I know a LOT of people don't find it fun, and that is totally cool. But you can find something not enjoyable and still accept that it is a quality game.
Anyways... I may or may not buy this. First up, Splatoon for Christmas. Second, Xenoblade for sure. After that, I may re-purchase Smash for Cloud/Mewtwo or buy this. I wouldn't write this version off, though... it is very likely to expand and gain some of these missing features, especially if it sells well enough.
Thanks, watching one of your Splatfests now @EverythingAmiibo
The skill level in your games is exactly what I was looking for, the first few people I watched were playing for basically the first time and it was really obvious lol.
I don't expect that video game awards will ever reach Emmy level, but this was a fun view! I pretty much only tuned in to see if there would be an Iwata tribute and I was very glad to see Reggie talk about it.
I'm probably late to the party, but I'm PUMPED for Splatoon now. My girlfriend and I snagged a copy at Walmart for $25 on Black Friday but she's making me wait until Christmas to play. So I know what I'll be doing in January.
Does anyone know of good streamers/youtubers to watch for Splatoon?
I voted at least 3 times from different computers for Geno from Super Mario RPG. His inclusion would be amazing and he has all kinds of cool attacks. His Final Smash would also be amazing.
However, I can admit that King K Rool would probably be a great addition as well.
Subscription would be the end of my VC purchases. I like owning games, period. My only complaint is lack of SNES on the 3DS and lack of games coming out for the VC in general. The way it functions is fine, they just need more people on it so more games get released.
Fair enough. In all honesty, I'm guilty of playing older games also... although I like to kid myself that that is because they are better games. Overall, I do feel that a lot of the best games are 10-15 years old now.
That said... Splatoon looks freaking awesome and I intend to play the hell out of it
@Quorthon To be fair, I still see tons of kids with Nintendo t-shirts, and even more with 3DSes. Kids definitely play Nintendo. That isn't to say this won't bring in more... but it is definitely NOT all adults with nostalgia goggles.
Hmmm... this news definitely caught me off guard. I'm a little uneasy about the whole thing, but here's my biggest concern: Nintendo is already "spread thin" trying to develop games for both 3DS and Wii U. So now they are going to add even more to their plate and develop phone games, too? And if someone else is developing the phone games, they will probably be much lower quality. I'm not a business major and I don't know all of the details, but at the moment, the whole thing just makes me nervous... especially since they basically said they weren't going to make games for phones.
I think people shouldn't get paid to post videos on Youtube of them playing video games. I also think that if Nintendo wants this plan to work it needs to include the games people actually want to see.
Overall, I think Nintendo should absolutely be making money if Youtubers are making money. They just need to make the system better.
Unlocking in the newest games is too easy. I preferred how they did it in Brawl and Melee. You should have to earn SOMETHING in these games, starting with a full roster makes playing the game almost pointless. I really miss the Subspace Emissary also
Lots of arrogant Youtubers. Sad really, a lot of the bigger "stars" of Twitch and Youtube seem to have these inflated egos, thinking their opinion matters. At the end of the day, Nintendo owns these products and can do as they like. Plain and simple. And even if these AMAZING Youtubers will not rise to the occasion - guess what? Someone else happily will. So Nintendo stands only to gain from this, and they should get some revenue from Youtube, it is their right.
To echo some of the sentiments here, it still amazes me that people can make anything more than a few dollars a month doing this. Watching some of the incredible speed runs at the charity events is pretty neat, but the whole "Let's Play" phenomenon has me baffled. They should be thankful they make ANY money by sitting at home playing video games, not entitled jerks.
I wish Ebay and similar sites would ban the selling of "pre-orders" - that would help a little.
Also, a little more stock would help. But ultimately, I do blame the scalpers foremost for being so soulless. It really is despicable for the system to sell out in a matter of an hour, and for literally HUNDREDS of ebay listings to appear within the next hour.
I just wish it was illegal.
EDIT: And I wanted to add that if every scalper bought ONE system it would bother me a lot less, but I see people on CAG and SlickDeals buying them by the ten. Absolutely disgusting, they are creating false demand and it sucks.
Personally, I know I may be in the minority here, but I'd really like for them to scale up their VC efforts. We still have yet to see an N64 game on the Wii U, I'm sure they could do GCN also.
My #1 request is SNES games on the 3DS! Come on Nintendo, it's time. I just want to play portable SMK, All-Stars, SMRPG, DKC series, and Chrono Trigger
Technically… there is a rainbow road in one of the final levels, correct? But I saw the mistake as soon as I started the article, the Rainbow Road is from Mario Kart 64
They probably just want to officially announce this later. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii U version is real, despite what Yuri replied. That said, I've been disappointed by Capcom before.
Either way, I'm just glad to be getting another Monster Hunter title on 3DS, and whoever setup that banner is probably in big trouble.
Pretty cool stuff. I browsed through the other images on the patent page, and it looks like it is definitely Pokemon related. They talk about capturing animals, trading and battling them, and allude to a Pokedex also.
They also show stats for some of the animals and have them lined up similar to how your party is setup in a typical Pokemon game.
I'm curious to see if this becomes anything down the road.

I'm with you… I just want TWO things:
1. N64 on Wii U
2. SNES on 3DS
Pleeeeeeease!

Re: Live-Action Netflix Series For The Legend of Zelda is Reportedly in Development
Not sure if anyone mentioned this but… there's a lot of room for love triangles and drama… Ruto, Malon, Midna, and others I'm sure.
I always wanted him to romance Ruto. Maybe now he will!
