Burlington, North Carolina-based Actos Games, the creator of APEXICON - Fantasy Puzzle Combat, has returned with the recently announced Wii U exclusive psyscrolr, a platformer that features a strong narrative, epic boss battles and mini-epic mid-boss battles with integrated puzzle mechanics.
Players take on the role of the Scrolr, a young boy with psychic powers who is assisted on his journey by the Narrator, a character represented as a disembodied voice. psyscrolr is being designed around the Wii U hardware, most notably the GamePad's touch screen, which can be used to unleash the Scrolr's deadly slash attacks and powerful blasts of psychic fire. Check out the trailer below for a peek at the gameplay:
psyscrolr is currently planned for a November or December release. If this is something you're waiting to see on the Wii U's eShop, or if you just want to debate how to pronounce the game's title, please leave a comment.

This looks great! A bit of platforming, some puzzling, DLC Quest visuals and wolves hiding in the dark? What's not to love?
That looks awesome!
Is it just me, or does the Actos Games logo at the end of the trailer resemble the Nayru symbol a bit too much?
In fact, you could simple remove three lines and fill three hloles, and it's the very same symbol! Layton puzzle time!
EDIT: Nayru symbol here http://i.imgur.com/QEP0FxG.gif
@Olmectron That's exactly what I was thinking!
half expected it to be called Scarf
actually looks like it could be fun.
@shinesprite Yeah, right? Now, talking about the game, it looks like fun, it uses the touchscreen it seems. And now knowing that the developers could be Zelda fans, it interests me!
The concept of touch screen combat in a platformer worries me. I can't quickly switch from D-pad + button controls to pulling out the stylus for accurate taps and swipes.
It looks interesting other than that, so here's hoping for some alternate control schemes or something.
I like it.
@Olmectron I'm literally unable to see anything but a slightly modified Nayru's symbol/Zora's Sapphire there.
@AK-1138 Yep. Could that mean the studio is lazy? I hope not.
@bro2dragons I don't like that either but I like cleaning the touchscreen from fingerprints even less.
The style is nice, but the levels are bland.
Day One Purchase... or just D.O.P. for short
Why am I seeing Kid Chameleon in this game?
There's some interesting stuff here. Actos have my attention.
Always love seeing developers actually take advantage of the WiiU Gamepad, especially when it lends itself to better uses than I've seen on almost any touchscreen game for phones, like the touch levels in Rayman that are the single best use of a touch screen in a platformer I've seen.
@Olmectron Ahaha, well we like Zelda for sure, but we didn't base the logo off the Nayru symbol!
And it's pronounced "sy scroller". It's a play on "sidescroller".
@bro2dragons The entire game is based on using the screen as a "button". You don't need super accurate swipes, so don't worry about using the stylus in that way. I actually use a fingertip myself!
smh
Looks like it could be very good. I'll give it a shot.
@ActosGames I love the vibe of the game, the music is also nice for this type of game.. but it would be even better if you can make the background or the sky a bit more alive.
@Psyclone The environmental effects include wind that blows by, as well as grass that is thrown into the air from various spots on the ground + the Scrolr walking around.
yay yet another pixel art game
This has some hope. I like pixel art games. Don't cry
Will be keeping an eye on this one.
Good looking trailer. Look forward to hearing more.
Keeping my eyes on this. Nintendo's Seal of Quality isn't invalid yet.
Finally! An eShop game coming out this year that I can look forward to!
Thanks guys! Those comments really make us work harder!
