“Of course, it’s likely that both Sony and Microsoft will release their own native handheld consoles in the coming years…”; I disagree with this. The most Sony and Microsoft are going to do is release a streaming or remote-play handheld device. Streaming / remote-play devices are not the same as a handheld console. Sony and Microsoft don’t care about handheld gaming and will put in the absolute minimum effort into that category.
To me, Super Mario Kart was the best one. The one that started it all. When I first played it, I was blown away by the Mode7 (3D looking) graphics. I had only played NES games up until that point. I often go back to it today because it reminds me of how happy the game made me back then.
When GameCube finally comes to NSO, I hope they work with Microsoft and Rare to bring cancelled games that were supposed to be GameCube games, such as Donkey Kong Racing (cancelled in 2002).
I like the premise of this article harkening back to grade school days when people would say “I have a friend of a friend whose uncle works for Nintendo and they told me that such and such game is coming out this year and it looks so amazing.” Of course what they were saying was usually completely false.
@Cyberbotv2 He was my favorite as well. I always did the same thing; created Bret Hart in those later WWE games but I was always frustrated by the fact that the developers always intentionally made it impossible to make him perfectly. I’m glad they finally started including him in most WWE games now.
Retromania Wrestling comes out soon (no WWE license) and that uses the old WrestleFest game engine from the arcades, so anything is possible. Problem is that WWE probably doesn’t care about bringing back the WWF No Mercy game engine to their games. They probably don’t even remember that it existed. Therefore we will probably have to rely on an independent game studio without the WWE license to bring it back like they did the WrestleFest engine. Hopefully we all haven’t died of old age before that happens.
I loved WCW/NWO Revenge and WWF Warzone because Bret Hitman Hart was in those. Unfortunately, he left WWF right before AKI got the WWF license, so he wasn’t in Wrestlemania 2000 and WWF No Mercy. This two games were great, but Bret Hart’s absence was definitely felt in those games. If they were to ever remake them, I hope he is added to them.
Please port Star Fox Zero to Switch. I sold my Wii U in mid-2014, so I never got a chance to play it, but it would have been a day-one purchase for me since I loved Star Fox 64.
@Crockin No, they don't need 9 months to have a marketing campaign for every triple A title. There have been plenty of times in the past where they announced a triple A game at E3 in mid-June and that game released five months later in November.
I unexpectedly played Turok Dinosaur Hunter for four hours last night. I had been stuck on the level 3 boss for a long time and I decided to give it another shot. Last night after four attempts, I finally won and I was on a roll and having fun. I finished levels 3, 4 and 5 (level 5 boss was much easier than the level 3 boss and I beat him on my first try). This was my first Nintendo 64 game and I beat it in 1997. Playing through it again is a nostalgia trip.
I was watching these two movies (the 2019 versions) in the theater this summer and I found myself thinking about these two games and wondering why we didn't get any video games with these two movies. It's as if they read my mind.
@Majora101 I would like to see that happen. All the former Rare people should work together to get a new Rare going, whatever it takes I would support this.
It's a trust thing for a lot of people. Some people don't trust putting something in their switch without a Nintendo logo on it or the Nintendo Seal of Quality. It makes sense that Nintendo would make these.
@rockodoodle Just as long as it doesn't turn out like Madden 13 on Vita (the only Madden game that Vita ever got). That game was hideously under-developed. If they release a game, they should finish it first. It's not a lot to ask.
@NintyNate You are correct, I just found an image of samus holding up her arm cannon and there is a missile attached to the bottom of the cannon that has the three dots you see in the image.
Very good if you watch the presentation itself. The individual trailer videos on this page don't do the presentation justice. Cuphead, Pine and Stranger Things 3 look great.
I'm happy with NES games for now as long as they put some licensed games on the system, such as Ninja Turtles, Friday the 13th, Top Gun, Ducktales, etc. Virtual Console wasn't very good without these games. To people asking for SNES, N64 and GC games, give them time. They are just getting started with this streaming service. Those will get here eventually.
I have this game. It's very good. I love the presentation and character models. Gameplay is fun and fast as it allows you to play a full season in just a couple hours.
Good, this gives me the opportunity to finally beat Metriod Prime 2 Echoes, the only one in this series that I never beat. I played it back in 2004, but gave up when Alpha Blogg (the underwater boss) was giving me issues.
I might get this. I just hope they don't put "Internet download and microSD card required" on the box art like last year. I think that puts a lot of people off on buying the game. I can understand that it needs updates, but can't they just use a bigger cart to store all the data that the game needs so a microSD card is not needed?

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
I’m hoping this game does for Metroid what Breath of the Wild did for Zelda.
Re: Feature: The Long & Rainbow Road To 'Mario Kart World' Part 2 - Second Lap
Mario Kart DS was so good and was my most played Mario Kart game. I loved how it introduced online play to the series.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Donkey Kong's Redesign In Mario Kart 9?
I love it. The character is long overdue for a redesign. Reminds me of Donkey Kong’s look from the NES, SNES and N64 days which I’m all for it.
Re: Rumour: Super Mario Remasters To Be Announced This Month, But Won't Launch On Mario's 35th
Not going to happen. Nintendo doesn't reward people who leak their secret upcoming games. It would set a bad precedent.
Re: Poll: So, What Was Nintendo's Best Year Ever?
My top five:
1. 1998
2. 1997
3. 1989
4. 2017
5. 1990

@quinnyboy58 Great idea about him going to Playtonic. They seem like they would be a good fit.
