@SteamEngenius It's the name that makes it sell so well. Just look at the FIFA franchise. The legacy editions always sell well on Switch despite being awful stripped down versions.
@Friendly if they were going back to pixelated versions, i think GF will have quite some backlash from people telling them they are behind the times and that kind of stuff. I feel that Pokemon right now is going in the right direction with the open world premise. They just have to optimize and bugfix a lot more often. I hope that TPC will give them more time in the future.
@Snatcher The Witcher looks good because it is downgraded on almost every front. I feel that some of these "magical" ports are literally the most downgraded games i've ever seen. yes okay they play without any issues. But you have to atleast balance the resolution with the performance. I've heard that Pokemon S/V play much better in handheld mode due to the resolution being lower. So i guess it has to do with the hardware. Also i am curious how this game will run when it is actually being played on an emulator on PC. Because BOTW is capable of running in 60 FPS on Cemu. So if Pokemon S/V are capable to do 60 fps on emulation front. Then we know the answer to the issues.
@Froid12 true, thank god the gameplay of Scarlet and Violet is actually the best it's ever been. Once they got those frame issues sorted out. It might become the best Pokemon game of all time. So yeah definitely hyped to get my copy + the online sounds like it can make the longevity of the game even longer.
@Baler it's Pokemon, if they gave a Pokemon game a 3/10. People would riot, it's still the biggest media franchise in history, just look at IGN back when they gave a 6/10 to Pokemon Alpha Sapphire for having too much water.. People all over the internet made that reviewer a laughing stock.
@Snatcher Again Splatoon is developed by Nintendo, the company who literally know how to Switch works and who are familiar with the hardware inside and outside.
@BenAV Gamefreak has always shown to the outside world that they want to venture away from Pokemon but the Pokemon Company always seem to rely on them. Just look at their other games, Drill Dozer and Haruknights just to name a few. It's better for the franchise and game series as a whole if Nintendo takes over the development.
@steely_pete how can you even get to a conclusion like that when the game isnt even out? Dude, i've heard from people who played the game already that there are stores which let you purchase tons of clothing and customization options. So don't judge a book before you've read it.
@Dizzymario Those unoptimized games are played at their lowest resolution, i bet if Nintendo made the Pokemon games, that they would be a lot more polished because Nintendo always manage to do the unthinkable for their games on Switch.
@Froid12 that one still had framepacing issues though and was clearly downgraded like hell. Look at the Steam Deck, it plays Witcher 3 without any issue.
@Peach64 BOTW has been developed by Nintendo, they for some reason always manage to make smooth experiences on the switch despite other devs not even able to. Nintendo probably has some sort of optimization that no other developer has which makes their games run better than others for sure.
@JudaiMasters Nintendo should make the Pokemon game series from gen 10 and onward. Gamefreak should stop with creating Pokemon games and focus on their own stuff.
I feel this whole comparison has a big nintendo fanboy scale to it. We all know you are Nintendo Life but saying stuff that the Nintendo Switch is better because of the game offerings is just a huge lie. The Steam Deck is capable of running so many switch games with better graphics and framerates than the switch oled could. It has the biggest game library available to men kind. You can also play 3DS, Gamecube, Switch, DS, NES, SNES, Wii, Wii U, Virtual Boy, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Nintendo 64. Not only that but every single playstation, microsoft and sega console which don't include the PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X are playable on the Steam Deck. Furthermore, it's comparing apples with oranges. The switch is meant for a more casual audience, while the steam deck is for more hardcore gamers who play a lot of games and are also familiar with the pc environment.
Next time that you do a comparison like this one, get yourself more updated and stop wearing your nintendo glasses. Thanks.
There is also this cute detail that when you throw your pokeball in the water and your pokemon is not a swimmer. Then it will create a little cute boat platform for them to stand on.
@Scapetti for me its all about Football Manager, Forza Horizon 5, Spelunky and even GTA SA remastered that make the gamepass a worth while for me. And seeing Danganronpa coming makes me wish that persona or phoenix wright comes too eventually.
Finally Pokémon is becoming something new. It feels like the Pokemon Black / Pokemon Red generation all over again. All new story and gameplay mechanics. I can't wait.

@BenAV Then make Nintendo the main developer of Pokemon games. I bet Gamefreak would be happy to oblige.

The problem with this pokemon game isn't GameFreak themselves. It's the fact that the Switch isn't powerful enough. We need a Switch Pro ASAP!

Edit: i've now rewatched the trailer and found out that the hand was resurrecting Ganon. But why would Link resurrect Ganon?! I am so confused..
