@LardAndrew: I'm not totally sure what's gone but I can tell you what was kept. This version includes: Fun House, Black Knight, PinBot, WhirlWind, Taxi, Space Shuttle, and Gorgar. Its a good mix in my book since the only one I truly don't like is PinBot and maybe Gorgar. I absolutely love Fun House though. Its my favorite table on the game!
@Kifa: Relax. I seriously doubt that Return of Samus is only gonna be available in Japan. I wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up in a week or two is other regions.
Only a 7? I would have definitely given this one an 8 or even a 9. Even though it is missing a few tables from other versions, I still feel that it has more then enough meat to it to justify $30. The 3D effect here is also just fantastic. When the table is set to camera 5, its like I'm literally holding that pinball machine in the palm of my hand. I was one of those who was very disappointed with the lack of Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon on the eShop but now that I have this, I don't care as much. If you are a fan of Pinball and own a 3DS, this is a game you simply must have.
I just beat this. Great game for sure and absolutely worth 9/10! I thought I was gonna make it the whole way without using one restore point...then I reached Wario's Castle. After dying about 30 times there without even reaching the final boss, I broke down and used me some restore points! Anyway, I think its an extremely well designed game despite a generally easy difficulty. Kind of surprising that they did this on Gameboy hardware!
Unfortunately for Teyon....1001 ain't sh*t. Doesn't Alphabounce have like.....10,000 or more? They chose the wrong type of game to try and flaunt 1000 levels
EDIT: Just read that it actually has 25 million o_O....Yeah, sorry Teyon...your game's level count is peanuts compared to Alphabounce!
Definitely getting this! As a rabbid Nintendo fan and avid collector, this is perfect for me! I already know all the history but I'll still enjoy reading them. Plus me thinks they'll look very nice on my Club Nintendo shelf
I'd definitely be in favor of remaking a bunch of N64 classics. I think the idea of marketing them as their own separate line is a great idea too. I'd love to see Pokemon Snap, Paper Mario, Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Yoshi's Story, Kirby 64, and Majora's Mask amongst others. Actually scratch Pokemon Snap, I want a sequel to that one dammit!!!
This looks really great! and with 250 levels plus a level editor it seems to have a substantial amount of meat on its bones. One of my favorite franchises of all time (Paper Mario) comes from these people so I'll definitely be buying this if/when it hits the US....and it BETTER hit the US!!!
That pole screenshot and caption are hilarious! That is exactly what popped into my mind even before I read the caption. Anyway, this game is looking just fantastic thus far. Oh, and that tailed Goomba is very cute!
Ummm...excuse me but, PAPER MARIO!!! That is one of the greatest N64 games IMO! How can that not even AT LEAST be in the honorable mentions section? That game is just so fantastic!
Option E: Mind Games! It is Nintendo afterall. They are constantly toying with us and playing games. IMO though, GBA titles WILL eventually be available for purchase by the general public. Or they could have a section of the eShop just for ambassadors. Nintendo would add GBA games weekly just like everything else but only ambassadors would be able to buy them!!!!
That was just....wow! How can so much awesomeness be crammed into one 2:00 video? If this doesn't get localized I just might have to choke several Capcom and Level 5 employees >:3
So I got it. Its a really great game for sure but its not a 10. Its about on the level of Bit Trip Runner. That also wasn't a 10 to me. Both games are very solid 9s. IMO the only 10/10 WiiWare game is World of Goo. Anyway, game seems like its got quite a bit of length on it. I really like collecting ancestors (A task which is rarely easy) and reading about them. They tend to be quite humorous. Its got a similar appeal to me as the Almanac in Plants vs Zombies. I'm slowly but surely becoming addicted
A great game indeed. I love the game's atmosphere and the gameplay was very fresh and fun at the time. Definitely a Cube classic. I absolutely can't wait for LM2!
Just wanted to say that I'm really really enjoying Plants vs Zombies! Thanks to NL's appearance in the eShop, I finally got it after putting it off for a long time and I don't regret the decision at all. Thanks for finally pushing me over the edge Nintendo Life Also, it looks like I'm not the only one buying off this list to show support. Hopefully if sales for a lot of these games spike, NL can become a regular shelf in the eShop!
^ Which is why we all must try to buy at least one game off their shelf that we've been wanting but putting off for a while. If Nintendo tracks the sales from specific shelves, it could help NL be a regular shelf in the eShop! I've done my part
Just downloaded Plants vs Zombies straight off the NL shelf! Pretty fun game so far even though I'm not that big a fan of tower defense. The NL shelf is so awesome!!
Oh wow...Just had a closer look at the list. It looks like the only three games there that I don't own are Plants vs Zombies, Dark Void Zero, and Xevious. DVZ and Xevious are simply not my cup of tea so perhaps its time I grab PvZ....Still not sure about it though. Will have to research it a bit
That's so cool you guys! Very proud to be a member here since the days of WiiWare World! I can't wait to check out the shelf and perhaps buy something off it (Although I own damn near every game there already!).
Grrr....Maga Man just isn't my thing. Afer doing a little research I was really hoping to get Catrap this week. It actually looks really good and I can't wait to get it (Next week please??). Motoheroz obviously looks good but I still have some doubts. I just haven't been very into console gaming these last few months so I question whether it will get the time it deserves. It might just have to wait for my interest to naturally swing from handheld to console...
People just don't "get" Nintendo. Sure they can be frustrating at times but ultimately they know exactly what they're doing and they're gonna do things their way. I totally agree with Iwata. If I ever sat down at my computer and read Nintendo was gonna start developing for phones I think I would go numb...
It makes me a little ticked that they split into 2 retail games like this. I have almost all the games on Wiiware so I'm going for the 3DS game. Now I have to miss out on all the extra content and leaderboards. They really should have just packed the extras into the 3DS game and just released that. I don't understand why they couldn't have done something extra (3D doesn't count) on 3DS. Its like you can never have it all (3D, portability, leaderboards, difficulties, achievements) in one spot....
Great interview! I wish your game the best of luck! I bought it and really like it. For me, it may not be the best thing I've ever played gameplay wise (Although it is quite fun) but the thing that really grabs me about it is the level of polish it appears to have. Polish goes a long way with me. Like I can even find enjoyment in a fairly bad game if it is very polished. Can't wait to see more out of Tanukii Studios. Just keep that Ninty-level polish goin!
Is it strange that I'm considering a purchase on Golf (super original title BTW)? I just played a...version of it to try it out and I didn't think it was too bad. Quite advanced for Gameboy actually. I'm just having trouble justifying it when I already have Let's Golf 3D....Anyone who really likes the game wanna try and push me over the edge?
Those all looks very amazing! Pinball, a Shoot'em Up, Mini RPG, and a few others PLUS the actual game! Oh Nintendo, you spoil us I'm seriously looking forward to this one now. With all these extras its looking a lot like a new KSS to me!
This is a good list for me. Who doesn't like The original SMB? Its a classic and a masterpiece. I've never played Zelda 1/2 or the original Metroid for more than 30 seconds so I'm very excited for those because of what everyone says about them. I own Yoshi and Balloon Fighter on Wii VC already so I like those well enough and its nice to have them portable. I've never played Ice Climber, Donkey Kong JR, Wrecking Crew, and Golf either so those are nice and i'm looking forward to trying them. So yeah, pretty good list. I kind of would rather have Punch-out, Mario 2/3, or Kirby rather than a couple of these. I kind of find the lack of Kid Icarus weird. I thought the pending release of Uprising guaranteed that game a spot. Oh well free is free. Thanks Nintendo Now about those GBA games...
@Ryon: Yes, these NES games are out this Thursday and the 10 GBA games (of which we only know of 5) will be out before the end of the year.
@Waltz: I haven't played the IOS version as I do not own any of those devices but from videos I've watched, the two versions seem identical with the exception of resolution. I have a feeling if Chicken reviewed the IOS game, it would get similarly criticized. I'm pretty sure this is just a game you either "get" or you don't. I agree its very laid back fun. In fact, I just got done making like 4 new pots
Amazing news! I am an absolutely huge fan of the Layton series and this game is no exception. I also can't wait to play London Life! I just know it will be excellent. This holiday season just gets better and better
@Kainard: Yes, I am. I'll defend any game that gets a review I strongly disagree with. It may not be your cup of tea but to me its very enjoyable to boot it up and whip up a nice piece. I also find it addicting and fun to see how much you can bag at auction. For Someone who is creative and artsy such as myself, this is a very enjoyable piece of software. Also, I'm not really sure what this review is talking about as far as being confusing goes. It couldn't be more strait forward to figure out how to jump in and what to do. I stand by my opinion that this is a very solid download.
That looks so epic I can hardly even fathom it! I'm definitely picking up the limited edition bundle. That Wii Remote is looking sweet. I can't even wait to play this sure to be amazing game!
Wow...very harsh review. I enjoy this game very much! I don't agree with the fact that controls are bad. They work just fine. I guess this one is just a matter of taste. I enjoy very relaxing things as well as things that lets one get creative so naturally, I enjoy this. I give it an 8.
Fine. I'm sold. I was very close to leaning into buying this but this just sealed the deal. Can't wait to play it when my 3DS comes back from the repair center today
Cool! I've loved Sam & Max, Strong Bad, and Tales of Monkey Island so this will certainly be an instant buy for me. Thanks for bringing this over Telltale!
This looks really fantastic! I'll be buying for sure on launch. This holiday is gonna be incredible. Between Skyward Sword, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Rhythm Heaven, Kirby: Mass Attack, Professor Layton and the Last Specter, Starfox 64 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and a few others, i'll certainly have no shortage of things to play. I can here my wallet quietly weeping now...
I just got done watching some videos and reading/watching some impressions and reviews of the ios version. I think I'll take a chance on this come Thursday...as long as it isn't severely diced up and different from the original version. So i'll still sit and wait for a couple hours just in case it is cut down...but its almost certainly a buy for me
Is it weird that I feel like I want this? From what I've seen it looks pretty good. Depending on how creative one is able to get and how much variation one can put on their work, it could be a very cool piece of software. I kind of wish this was 3DSWare though....it would be nice to view your finished work in full 3D.
