I really loved Risky's Revenge so the possibility of a new Shantae for 3DS excites me very much. If they could make Risky's Revenge as beautiful as it is in terms of graphics and music plus make very compelling gameplay on top of it within the tiny DSiWare size limit, imagine what they could do with a 3DS cartridge with a couple gigs on it!

Nothing for buying this week but I did try the Monsteca demo. It was actually quite good, especially for its 5 dollar price tag. I will surely give it a download the next time I get some points into my account! Chalk another sale up to the demos

@Raylax: Well that wouldn't really be a great April Fools joke......Usually April fools jokes in the game industry have to do with really awesome things you never thought would happen.

Closed before it even made it to America.....tragic. It ddoesn't upset me too much though since Netflix streaming on Wii is awesome!

No WiiWare this week for Europe either......very strange. If anything I'd think DSiWare would be starting to wind down, not WiiWare.

@abgar: I know right! These lowly developers that have the nerve to try and speak against Nintendo need to shut their traps. They aren't even close to being on the same level of greatness as Nintendo and only make themselves look like total buffoons.

firstly, its a 40 dollar piece of plastic. Secondly, I enjoy my physical media. And thirdly, Angry Birds ain't that great and you just lost a sale :/

Great to hear! I hope the 3DS has many years of stellar sales ahead! Also, I really like Gameboy micro. It my have only sold like 2 million units but that just makes my special 20th anniversary system that much more special!

Oh no....this problem is more widespread than I thought it was! Thankfully mine is still holding up with only one odd menu freeze completely seperate from this problem. Please find a solution fast Nintendo!

Very much looking forward to this! That sound sample was pretty cool and the art style looks like a cross between Layton and 999 (both of which I absolutely love). I hope its not too weird not to make it out of Japan though....

@1: Thanks for posting that! It was amazingly cool. I think now I understand this "3D Sound" concept. Really looking forward to this game now! I hope this type of thing catches on. imagine combining the 3D sound concept with the ability to move the 3DS around and look completely around a room in a horror game and having the placement of the sounds change in relation to where the game calculates you're standing in the room. I could see some very scary stuff coming out of this! I think Aksys needs to remake the game 999 on 3DS with complete animation, voice acting, and 3D sound. That would be AMAZING!!!! Oh, and its made by Capcom so you know it will be awesome!

Nintendo, I love you, I really do, but PLEASE try to get your head out of your a** for this one. They offered demos on Wiiware. They aren't even permanent and still when a title gets a demo it regularly shoots back into the top 20 downloads unless the game utterly sucks. Proof right there! Offer a demo, game isn't completely terrible, more people buy it!! It also has the other effect of giving a bad game bad sales therefore discouraging devs from making crap for the system! PLUS, this would be an easy way to use SpotPass regularly. New game comes out, digital or retail, the demo of that game is pushed to 3DS owners. The eShop looks promising so far. Please don't ruin it now Nintendo

Hmmmm.....very tame week. Its ok though, I don't really have the money for this kind of stuff with the 3ds 6 DAYS AWAY!!! Good to see a Dive demo though. I have been very curious about that game since it came out!

I am also curious about single card multi-player. Please answer Corbs!

@Chicken: Allow me to turn your attention to the flawless smoothness of the turning controls in Lilt Line Its not that it can't, it just isn't used to its full potential often. Although, I felt the controls in Liight were basically perfect and never had an un-read turn of the wrist so this is more just a matter of defending the Wii Remote for me

I'll definitely be picking up Liight. Plants vs. Zombies........I don't know. I've heard good things about it but I don't really know if its for me.....I guess I'll just wait for the review. And can anyone give Mahjong a recomendation to someone who really enjoys things like Sudoku and Picross? I have no idea how the game works and if it has the same "logical" appeal as those games. Anyway, even without VC, nice week overall!

@AlexSays: Yes, Zelda is surely the biggest game coming to the Wii this year and perhaps the last "epic" release for the system. Things like Rhythm Heaven, new Kirby game, Pikmin 3, Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower, and Last Story may not be system sellers because of their relative obscurity when compared to Zelda or Mario but they are sure as hell powerful enough to keep the system going if only for the people who already own it. Plus I'm almost certain something big is gonna come out of E3. Also, Pikmin 3 might just be the absolute biggest release for the Wii for me (More so than Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc...) and probably for some others so don't count the Wii out yet.

I don't know why people think the Wii is fading this year. I mean this year will see Skyward Sword for sure. Very likely this year we'll also see that new Kirby game, Rhythm Heaven, Pikmin 3, and possibly Xenoblade and or Last Story. Plus a couple third party things. PLUS I would bet they probably have at least a few surprise game reveals lined up for E3. Remember when 2010 looked bleak then E3 came along and it was suddenly arguably the Wii's best year? I won't count the Wii out this year until over half the games mentioned above get canned and E3 brings nothing new. Reggie says there is more coming and I believe him. He may be president of the company but he isn't gonna straight up lie about something like that!

That is excellent! I hope every pirate's 3DS gets destroyed! Hopefully they take it one step further by making so if a pirate 3DS comes within StreetPass range of someone else's system which is updated, the pirate system can be destroyed that way.

Iwata is so right! People don't realize just how harmful these cheap little iGarbage games can be in the long run. It is absolutely sickening where our society has gone and how utterly stupid the average consumer has become. All the time I argue with people who are convinced that they don't need to buy a DS because they can just get that stuff for 99 cents on there iWhatever. They don't understand that the vast majority of those games are CRAP and don't have a tenth of the time and care invested into some DS projects. If things continue this way and people continue turning into iDrones, the industry will truly be in trouble....

I know it says the sound program is basically the same but did they at least add in functionality to let the shoulder buttons change songs when the system is closed?? I have a strong feeling that the answer is no but it would be sweet if they did do that!

only 60 spots available on the menu!? Its not even 60, its actually 48! I have over 100 DSiWare downloads! I certainly hope it expands when it reaches capacity because if not, then this really sucks.....

This is great! Nintendo really seems to be pushing the whole walking with the 3DS thing. All my friends say that the SpotPass and StreetPass things will fade and not be very useful because no one will carry their systems. I think people under-estimate this. With the range being 30 feet its not like you have to be standing right next to someone for a transfer to take place. With that distance it could even happen when you are parked at a red light!

I'd definitely buy a 3G enabled 3DS. I don't need it and am not affected one bit by its exclusion but if Nintendo offered it, I would certainly pay a monthly fee (within reason)

The Raccoon Suit is coming back baby!! That's my all time favorite Mario suit! I can't wait for e3 now that we have been promised details on this new Mario game!

Makes me glad I got my pre-order in as early as Gamestop would take it. I was the first one to preorder at that store so there is no way I'll be one of those poor folks without one. Just 27 days to go!!!

This.....intrigues me. Unfortunately I know literally nothing about coding. To anyone who has programmed in BASIC: is it easy to learn for someone with extensive experience in Game Maker (minus any actual programming in GM :3)?

I know they don't expect the normal consumer to buy both but I ain't the normal consumer. I'm a collector and not owning these systems is gonna kill me! I almost always find a way to have the money for all the special crap Nintendo puts out but 2 special DSi systems, the 3DS, and 5 3DS games I want is just too much for me....

Why Nintendo? WHY!!?? If it was just one special system I may have been able to put the money together to get it but TWO!? The 3DS is coming out in a month Nintendo! How much money do you think I have???

I read about this on IGN yesterday and thought "meh, it looks ok I guess..." Now that I see that WayForward is the developer......well let's just say my outlook on this game just got significantly better. I might have to go buy that tablet just to play this.....

That bag looks amazing!! I would so buy that if given the opportunity....well, maybe not.....I have 1,000 coins and just need 200 more for G&W Ball. Unfortunately, I was quite stupid and went on a huge Club Nintendo buying spree thinking nothing too expensive would be added. Now there are so few games I can get points from since I own the vast majority of Nintendo Wii/DS games already

Pucca is 500 over here? I thought 1000 was a bit steep and was gonna pass on it for that reason. But now....I think I'm gonna go ahead and grab it if its only 5 bucks! Also, where is the Dive demo??

Say what you will but I have a very expansive Nintendo collection and things like this are just what I like to add to it all. Trust me, This isn't the rarest item I own (especially now!) but its not exactly common. That makes me wanna own it and never let it go!

Its not a matter of not wanting people to own the game. It would be great if everyone who wants this game could have this game......As long as the new copies have SOMETHING to differentiate them from the first group in order to keep their status and value intact. Also, I didn't buy my second copy with any intention to sell it on Ebay for a high price. I simply enjoy owning things that I know are worth a high sum. I NEVER sell my extra rare stuff.

@Burnign Spear: That's a great idea! If they reprinted just the game without the box of extras, I would feel a lot better. That way, those of us who jumped on the original "limited" game will still have our collector's piece and those who want the game but missed it can still have the software they desire!

Great....I was hoping this would be a lie when I heard it a few days ago.... This is gonna make the value of my brand new copy of this game totally plummit! They could at least not print "Limited Edition" on the re-print to still give the original copies collector value. Guess its not gonna be very "limited" or collectible anymore. Sigh.....

The fact that Galaxy 2 is the only Nintendo game on the list and Dance Central gets priority over things like DKCR and Kirby is pitifull. Whatever, I'm used to the Wii being totally shafted by the general gaming public. Hopefully 3DS will be able to bring a few of those worthless, mindless drones on board...
