I would certainly buy the anniversary edition if given the chance. I've never played a KH game before and planned for Dream Drop Distance to be the first so this would prove to be an excellent value to me since I'm new to the series and also a big collector of things like this. Please give us this bundle Square!
awe man! I wish this hadn't been caught until the actual release. It would have likely been fixed promptly making those initial copies rarities. Chances are Capcom will fix this before it releases to retail. This means I must get my hands on one of those flawed advanced copies :3
Nice week! I'll definitely be picking up Mudds and the demo will also be very nice. Still on the fence about Flipper 2 though....I wish it were 200 instead of 500. At 200 I'd get it for sure...
I absolutely LOVE the box art! The game is looking really good. Like Nintendo actually put real thought into it this time. I can't wait to take it for a spin!
Oh also, do your photos get saved? Like, is there a gallery of sorts within the game? Also, is there an option to export photos to the 3DS photo album?
Clicked on this for the hell of it and just skipped to the conclusion. I had zero interest...until you brought up Pokemon Snap. It is at this point that I read the review in full. Can you possibly detail the photography portion? Like, are you judged in any way by the game on your photos? Is there any sort of challenge like in Snap or do you just sit in front of whatever animal you choose to photograph? Also, do you have any idea how many different animals there are to obtain and how big a variety of pictures you can get of them? Any answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated as I wouldn't usually buy something like this so I'm a little weary of a purchase.
Nice! My eShop purchases are now lined up for the next two weeks! I enjoy actually having some idea of what a Thursday will hold. Here I come Mutant Mudds and Sakura Samurai!
this looks very interesting for sure. I'll wait to hear some form of review or impressions from various sources though before I decide to buy. This could be a great AR showcase for 3DS.
Lol. That was a great review. a 1 is pretty bad but I figured as much when I first saw the trailer. The whole thing looks like a complete pile of un-inspired garbage. I can't believe you played every single table
The 3D effect is done very nicely in this game. It really feels like something built from the ground up with the 3DS hardware in mind. I can't wait to play it when it finally launches! (soon please!!)
I bet y'all anything Nintendo will be making this Kirby episode available for purchase on the eShop in the future like they did with those Dreamworks things.
How can people call this a bad week? This is a great week! I've been waiting for Zen Pinball ever since it came out in Europe. Plus some Kirby action on Nintendo video is great as well.
Great Q&A! The only thing is...9.99? Doesn't that seem just a tad steep? I mean, no disrespect to Renegade Kid, I'm sure the game is great but I feel like with a price that high, a lot of people won't be willing to try it as much as they might with a 7 or 8 dollar price point...I'm fairly certain that I will still buy it for 10 dollars but I fear it may have less than stellar sales at that price...
Wow...very impressive that Mario Kart 7 got number 1 sales for the whole year despite only have one month to sell. Those are some strong sales right there!
Something just dawned on me. I think there is a reason why Nintendo went with the seemingly-weird decision of having circle pads instead of full blown sticks....They plan on letting the Wii U tablet function as its own entity. It wouldn't be very comfortable to carry around a tablet with analog sticks slapped on it. Perhaps it will have an SD card slot for expanding its memory? I just got a little more hyped for Wii U!
Awesome to see that the 3DS has really picked up steam. I hate to admit it but its a good thing the Vita didn't come out sooner. if it had hit the 3DS like a month or two after its launch, it might have never recovered. Now that its built itself up though, I see no real threat from the Vita. And if Monster Hunter 4 turns out to be 3DS exclusive, Sony can kiss this competition good bye :3
Cool that we got SwapNote after all but Nintendo still needs to step their game up. Specifically NOA. A major new function for 3DS wasn't even included in the press release. They STILL haven't even mentioned the GBA game's availability either. Also, why does Europe get told in advance what they're getting on Monday? We're lucky to find out what we're getting 3 hours before we actually get it....And even then it sometimes doesn't tell us ALL of what is coming (today for example). I just hope NOA steps it up going into 2012...
@34: I understand it will eventually be out but I feel like NOA shouldn't be dragging their feet with releasing vital 3DS functionality when the entire rest of the world is getting it. Especially when there is no apparent reason why NA shouldn't get it today. There is literally no reason at all why it shouldn't be out in all regions today.
@Duney: Who cares? How about me and everyone else who has been wanting some form of messaging system outside of a 16-character status message on 3DS since it launched.
I guess I should be grateful that we got at least Mighty Switch Force today (Which I will be buying immediately!) but I really wish they didn't drop the ball with the whole SwapNote thing. I hope (and I know this probably won't happen) that SwapNote just shows up in the eShop today anyway. NOA is known fo being quiet about things for no good reason. Plus I remember when Cut the Rope came out. It launched with all the other games that Thursday but was nowhere to be seen in the press release. I remain hopeful!
I'm really staring to get sick of NOA....no SwapNote is just ridiculous. For something like this it really needs a worldwide release so everyone can send messages to everyone regardless of region. If its finished for every other region in the world, i don't believe for one second that it isn't finished for NA which leads me to wonder why we are not receiving it today!
So can someone confirm if this is like...an officially licensed Nintendo product? If Nintendo isn't actually involved with this, I can't be wasting my time or money with it. If it IS licensed by Nintendo...well then I simply must have it!
That's an absolutely stellar list! Not one bad game in the bunch....not even one GOOD game in the bunch....they're all excellent, high caliber titles! Please NOA, give 'em to us on the same day...PLEASE!!!
After taking a closer look at that list....I'm interested in quite a bit of it! For sure I'll get Colors! 3D, Dillon's Rolling Western, Kirby's Block Ball, Mutant Mudds, Fun! Fun! Minigolf, Mighty Switch Force, and Zen Pinball. The others are sure to be high quality and stand at least some chance of me grabbing them. My wallet weeps for Q1 2012...
DAMN! I want mah Pinball THIS year! Oh well....I guess I have enough to play but it better come out in like...early January or something. I noticed that even though the eShop doesn't get a tone of new 3D releases, when it DOES get a 3D release, its usually a high-quality thing. Nothing truly bad is there now and I'm pretty sure everything on this list is pretty good. I'm fine with Nintendo trickling the content out like this when virtually all of it is good stuff. Much better than packing it with useless fillers...
definitely grabbing Pushmo this week. I was really kind of also hoping for Zen Pinball. I'd really like for that to be in the pipe for next week or I'm gonna be a little upset. Wouldn't aurprise me if we got Zen next week while Europe gets Mario Land 3. Europe seems to constantly be one step ahead in the eShop....
Great...so now we get Zen Pinball this week but then have to wait for Pushmo next week and so on....I hope this won't become a trend with Europe getting all 3DSWare stuff a week prior...I kind of can't imagine NOA giving us Zen AND this for Thursday's update (Although I'd LOVE to be proved wrong )
I DO NOT like the StreetPass Plaza thing. I looked into my plaza after receiving a SP today and there were 93 PEOPLE!!!!!! They serve no purpose....they just sit there and you can copy their Mii if you want. I heard there was a 100 person limit in the Plaza....I'm afraid they'll start pushing the earliest ones out when it hits the max. I would be very pissed if my legit StreetPasses got pushed out for a group of random folks from the internet. I have now gone into the settings and turned invitation off after deleting all those people (a process that took far too long...). If there are any legitimate use for these Miis being in my Plaza, please, someone inform me!
So excited for this one! I was really hoping for a holiday release but I guess I'll live....Plus there's quite enough to keep me occupied this season :3
This is the most epic article I've read in recent memory. I laughed so hard at a few. I hope NL continues to do more things like this and those email articles.
Nice review! I had bought this game on the Wii VC when it came out but due to other big releases around the same time, the poor thing unfortunately got buried before I really got into it. I decided to buty this because let's be honest, its a Nintendo property, I'm gonna buy it! I am in the 4th area and am really enjoying it a great deal. I think the 3D while not super noticeable is still a nice addition. A 2D platformer with 3D layers just looks very appealing to me and really whets my appetite for similar games on the horizon such as Mutant Mudds. Also, as others have said, the fact that the 3DS splits up the layers makes it WAY easier to distinguish foreground from background and leads to a whole lot less attempts to land on a platform that is in fact in the background. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and would certainly give Kirby a very solid 8/10...maybe 9 on a good day
WOOO!!! Someone bought my Celebi distribution cartridge off eBay for 200 bucks today! That'll make getting this baby real easy! Now I just need the announcement for the US...
I think the reviewer should consider a career in comedy because that review was totally hilarious! Sad about the game but at least it gave me a yuck or 2 for today Oh and I agree that those characters are very VERY odd looking. I believe its the same exact face with a different body and hair o_O
I put in 60 hours to the original WiiWare game and loved it. This game seems to be following in its footsteps. I got it yesterday and am really enjoying it! I absolutely love that every Pokemon from all generations are included here. That was probably my number 1 gripe with the original. Also, it feels more like a full game with the fact that there are different towns as well as different types of battles to break up the action a bit. I guess I would like it if you could level up your monsters but i'm over it. I just really like everything about this game and just as i did with the first, I plan to collect every single Pokemon you can possibly obtain
Upon further reflection, I decided I will buy Night of the Living Carrots for a few reasons. 1, its pretty high quality stuff from a respected studio. 2, since its both parts, its like at least over 12 minutes of video so I guess that's not so bad. 3, I want to support Nintendo adding paid video content. They may not be going about it in quite the way I would want but I don't want to scare them away from the idea right out of the gate. So yeah, its Carrots for me!
2 bucks for each short?? I don't speak i'll of nintendo often but...wtf? This would MAYBE be passable if it was all 3 videos for 2 dollars but 2 each is just a straight rip off. How about full movies nintendo? Those would be fair at 2 dollars all day long! Other than that, very disappointed we didn't get pyramids today
Great review! I got this about a week ago and think its a really stellar dance game. I also enjoyed JD2 quite a bit but this really blows it out of the water. The dance mash-ups are just so fun! Time to get back on my exercise routine with this baby
Getting this in about an hour. I'm so excited!! Its a little unhealthy how much I love the Professor Layton games and this one will be no exception. That's a little surprising to hear you can visit a friend's London over Wi-Fi. that's very fleshed out and in-depth for something that's just a mere extra to the main game.
