I am really happy this report came out, I was looking forward to some nintendo appearance here and there with what we saw at the rio hand off and was solidly disappointed. Though I did enjoy the music pieces they did use (could have done listened to them without the ridiculous amount of commentary from Mike and Savanah we got stateside).
I think my most treasured zelda memory is my whole family playing the original legend of zelda at the same time (except me cause I was 3 and didn't understand it) and my mom took the time to help my brother, and to be honest also herself, and made a huge map where each screen of the overworld was 1 half sheet of paper.
I still have that map and it is something I will cherish my whole life.
@gaga64 Have you ever given Battle Clash or Metal Combat for the Super Scope 6 a try. They are a lot of fun and if you still have your snes and super scope I would highly recommend giving those a try. Thankfully they are still incredibly cheap games.
@Dezzy There is a good choice. I never played the full version of yoda stories but I think I played the demo version on the pc at for at least a dozen hours
@darkswabber I sometimes forget how maligned both color splash and sticker star are. Yes I would rather have leveling up but I still greatly enjoyed the gameplay. Also Harry Potter 1 on the PS1 is a surprisingly fun game.
On the Nintendo side I really love the Faxanadu, Willow, and all super scope games and Secret of evermore (which most don't think is bad but is is just very overshadowed by Secret of Mana which don't get me wrong is the better game)
Non-nintendo I would have to say: Brave Fencer Musashi doesn't get much love and I am absolutely bonkers for Megaman Legends, I think I beat it every year or so. Also really love The Dig (most think it the worst Lucas Arts point and click, I think it the best)
@SSGodLink heck yes, so my brother just hooked up our revision models of the NES and SNES and they still work like a charm. Had a great time playing Metal Combat (the sequel to BattleClash) yesterday on an old CRT. I have the Super Nt - Analogue but even that can't play the old blaster games that need scan lines.
@neufel So you probably already know this theory, but my friend just told me that is is assumed that when Charlie reads Pepe Silvia it really is just Pennsylvania. That both blew my mind and made me laugh at the same time.
@MKCustodial Your insight is pretty much exaclty mine, except throw in that I still love sonic spinball (played it on psnow recently, a lot of fun still). Still go back and play cd every once in a while.
@MS7000 So I think at the very least for the gamer that puts their console into sleep mode and doesn't exit out of skyward sword often there should be a great reduction of text boxes since the the play session may be weeks long (except for those gamers that like to change things up a lot),
@Godzil agreed, I have beaten it twice and had a great time both times. peoples criticisms are absolutely true, but I think the good greatly outweighs the bad in this game.
@Vortexeo Also, went to a gamestop yesterday to get one of the zelda posters. The employee couldn't find it (though she eventually did) and said, "I wonder if its in one of those boxes we aren't allowed to open till tomorrow". That right there got me super pumped cause that means 100% we are going to get something that is available right now announced.
Does anyone think that the Rabbids at minute 2:24 have a real Geno look to them. That would be a pretty great addition and he would fit well into the Mario + Rabbids gameplay style.
In 2016 I went through and beat Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on PS1 and was surprised at how fun it was. Nice exploration with decent combat and a lot of secrets from the book to boot but with a feel that was somewhere between the book and films
@BulkSlash I was thinking much the same thing. The Dogbone controller felt so nice compared to the original rectangle. Also it was nice to be able to easily tell what game was in the system.
@screechums @andy_MK Thank you for that fun, passionate, and yet considerate debate. I think I have that debate with my brother once a year (except swap x with x4 as that is my favorite).
@BloodNinja Heck yeah, just made the games more exciting. Especially for those with siblings. Being the youngest I was always the last to play a new game but got to read the instruction manual while my older brother or sister played. Still have all my old manuals and boxes going back from the TI-99 onwards.
Love the Everybody Votes shout out. My family had so much fun with that. We took the guessing what popular opinion was very seriously. Also I frequently get that Wii Shop music stuck in my head.
@nessisonett I think that was the trick people didn't realize to do. It was a tad frustrating, but recalibrating your Wii Motion plus once ever 30-45 minutes made it so you had very little control issues.
@Yosher That's what I am thinking as well. Still have the original and my WiiU is still hooked up (making my way through Metroid Prime Trilogy, so good), but with quality of life improvements like this and online mode with friend, I may need to buy this game.
@Heavyarms55 Me to. I never use them for anything but just can't bring myself to get rid of them. Every once in a while I go through them all.
Actually remembered while typing this that I do use a few as book marks. They work great and have been fun conversation starters on airplanes (back when people still flew) and other places.
@Juga I didn't go for the pouch or coasters, kinda wish I did. So far I have the both sets of post cards and stickers, the 2021 calendar, mario 3d allstar posters, ornament, holiday cards, mario notebook, mario kart live decoration kit and origami king origami paper, which I made into some nice origami.
Might still get the coasters and lanyard cause why not. I am still waiting patiently for the hyrule warriors enamel poster thing to drop.
@Juga I do that every time. The rewards are pretty cheap when you consider getting 6 things in one 5 dollar shipment. That pin set was fantastic to, much larger and better quality pins than I was expecting.
Though I love a good comment section battle as much as the next, I just want to talk about this video and article. I remember being in grad school when this presentation happened. I don't think I have ever been so excited about a games console since I was a child. This whole presentation had me actually screaming as I saw Mario, splatoon 2, Arms, and Zelda BoTW. I was working when the preorders went live and having to take a break to preorder the console and BoTW collectors edition.
@AbejaGrande Amen to that, or at least give us a heads up and timeline. There were a couple of wii games I have been holding out on that I may need to buy before they are surprised removed from the eshop.
Oh man, I would absolutely by those if they were realesed. thankfully I recently set up my wii u so I could finally play the metroid prime trilogy. The first game was better than I remember and just started echoes.
Man there is a lot of anger on this article. I am not going to pretend what factors go into getting characters in smash, I assume none here in the comment section are privy to the inner workings of Bandai Namco/Nintendo. We can make guesses at what goes on but only the people there really know.
I for one loved this announcement, it's up there with the Megaman and Snake reveals, and though I had set aside smash after 250 hours, I think I need to now get character pack 2.
@aaronsullivan If they could do that with skyward sword, that would be so wonderful. I am going back and playing now on my Wii U and having such a great time (I'm one of those motion control lovers) but it makes me sad that so many can't enjoy cause of the high hurdle of those motion controls. It's still one of my favorite Legend of Zelda games.
@LilMuku I am sorry, I didn't mean to imply that Nintendo shouldn't be remaking those game, more ways to play them and to make them available to a larger audience is always a good thing. I merely wanted to convey my love of all 4 of those remakes/remasters and did not mean to upset you.
@VenomousAlbino agreed, such fun. If you have a playable 3ds the picross e series is on sale for 2.99 a piece. I already owned a few but just bought the rest. so many hours of fun for 15 bucks
I love you NintendoLife, but you need to fix your Super Nintendo database. there were way to many games missing from there that weren't even available to vote on, including Nintendo published games like Super Scope 6.
Lost vikings 2, Blackthorne, BattleClash, Super Smash TV, Run Saber, Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse, Joe & Mac, Earthworm Jim, Doom, Aladdin.
Those are all games that deserved a chance and being in the top 50, and some of them are definitely in my top 50.
@niner Thank for this, I was wondering where battleclash, black thorne, and lost vikings were. after reading your list i realized there are a lot more that I would love to rate as well.
@BadlyDrawnDedede That switch tax gets really out of hand some times. Also I agree, the original is the way to play if you have the means to (kept my vita pretty much as just a ps1 machine). I enjoy the remake, but I am still yet to play an oddworld game that tops ps1 Abe's Odyssey

Re: Talking Point: Which Game Stage Have You Replayed More Than Any Other?
I think either SMW Yoshi Island 1-2, or perhaps the stage opener's to Megaman X&X4.
Oooh also the intro to FF VII. I think I wore my demo disc out getting to that first boss and betting them so many times.

1) Jedi Outcast (PC Version)

Depending on the day Zelda BoTW or OoT also can be in there.
