I might pay five bucks for Flipnote but not for a minute worth of video. I can buy a 30-60 minute TV show for three bucks or less and I don't have to buy it again to watch it on another platform.

This guy does know how large the Smash game file is, right? He could almost buy a 2DS for the price of those overpriced Vita SD cards.

I want them to put Smash Bros on Vita.

I want there to be a five year gap between the announcement and the game coming out. Then I want the game to never leave Japan just to taunt this guy some more.

Why do people think Pokemon Z is a thing? We never got a Pokemon Gray in the last gen. When is the last time there was a third game?

Finally got a human after looking up an alternate customer service number online. He said it looked like I qualified but he’d have to open a case for them to send the email and it’d take 2-3 days. I seriously doubt I’m ever getting a response.

I guess I’ll just have to wait a week for the limited-use demo.

I meet all the qualifications and didn’t get a code so I ended up emailing customer service to get it sorted out.

About 15 minutes ago I finally got an automated email from Nintendo telling me to call. When I called I got a recording saying call volume was too high and there’s no one available to help.

If you’re going to tell everyone who emails customer service to call you then you ought to hire some people to work the phones.

So are these only going out to a handful of Platinum members? I’ve been a Platinum member for a couple years now and I’m receiving emails about things like the Zelda sale but I still haven’t gotten any codes. I tried going on the Club Nintendo site to see if there was more information but I can’t even log in due to all the traffic. NoA has been predictably unresponsive on twitter and it generally takes them several days to return email.

@eleccross Pretty sure Shin Migami Tensei is the only game you mentioned that has ever been on sale on the eShop.

Child of Light is currently on sale on the PSN. Child of Light is currently on sale in the European eShop. Child of Light is NOT on sale in the American eShop.

I guess I’m getting Child of Light on my PS3. They’re less stingy with sales there.

Actually I bought many of those Capcom games in PSN sales already.

They can go after both. Right now they’re going after neither.

Still, I hope this is a sign they’ll stop launching new systems without strong first party games like Mario and Zelda. I think that lack of support is a big part of why the 3DS and Wii U took so long to get going.

I can't wait for the 20th Anniversary eShop sale.

Tried that back when I was saving files before upgrading my PS3 this year. The conversion programs either didn't work on anything larger than 32GB (which don't need it) or they want you to pay for one that does.

While asking about the codes at the first Gamestop I passed on my way home, I was greeted with the same blank look that their employees usually give me.

The second store was a little more helpful. Apparently they were supposed to come along with a special display and a lot of stores didn’t get them.

I’ve never gotten anything larger than 32GB to work on a 3DS and I’m low on space so I guess I’m going retail. At least Smash Bros being huge makes sense; I have no idea how that awful Donkey Kong game can take up all that space.

It’s a little sad that the NoA eShop has been so pathetic that the two Wii U VC games makes this a decent week, relatively speaking.

I was thinking the same thing. 10 cents per coin is the best deal you're likely to get outside of freebies. However I'm having Club N issues right now (Super Mario Kart survey never showed up) so i don't even get that benefit now.

At least I won’t be envious of the European VC this week. Still, I doubt the American version will be much better and I’d like at least one region outside Japan to get something good.

Price?

There have been "games coming" for quite a while. Some of those games were announced YEARS ago. We haven't had a game show up since MK8 though.

The Wii U lineup is still better than the PS4 and XBox One but all three need games. The 3DS has been doing better than most everything else but the 2014 lineup is a shadow of 2013.

Hype is great and everything but we want games.

The VC is still a slow trickle of mostly underwhelming games and the "sales" are always the same handful of games. Mrgrgr!

“Bravely Default” is a pretty lousy name too. The game is named after two gameplay mechanics. That’d be like naming Mario “Jump Fireball”.

Its still a great game though. Ringabel and Edea made the cast interesting and the level of customization helped to alleviate the usual RPG frustrations.

I had the same problem. It isn't really a sale if you can't get the items.

Why are Marth and Ike even in this game? Nether has featured prominently in a FE game in ages and most people only know who they are because of Smash Bros. Meanwhile, if all my spotpasses are any indication, Awakening was a huge hit. It makes far more sense to replace Marth and Ike with Chrom and someone else. I’ll take Henry over Ike any day; he's just so affably evil. Also it'd be nice to have a "pure magic" type in Smash Bros instead of a brawler (everyone in the old games and Lucina) or someone in the middle (Robin/Avatar)

@Grumblevolcano I'm not sure most would go for a $10 game as the Platinum reward anyway...especially when it ought to have been a monthly reward or a sale item by now.

Granted I wish I had gone with Earthbound or NES Remix because I am NOT happy with Donkey Kong Returns 3D
