Re: Miiverse Won't Connect to Twitter or Facebook

WolfRamHeart

I don't really care about Facebook or Twitter so it doesn't bother me one bit if they won't be on the Wii U. I closed down my real Facebook account awhile back although I do still have a pseudo account just to follow my favorite companies and sites. I'm just not into the whole social networking thing.

Re: First Impressions: Nintendo Land's Multiplayer Games

WolfRamHeart

Okay, I'll admit that this sounds a lot better than it looked at the E3 press conference. I guess I really have to see it and experience it for myself to judge it appropriately. I'm hoping that Nintendo will set up demo kiosks for this game before the Wii U launches. I'm still not completely sold on it yet and I think it would be in Nintendo's best interest to bundle this game with the Wii U system at launch.

Re: First Impressions: Scribblenauts Unlimited

WolfRamHeart

I really enjoyed the first Scribblenauts game but I never got around to picking up the second one. I thought it was really unique and a very ambitious idea for a video game. I always wondered what it would be like to play this game on a home console and now I will finally be able to. I'm interested to see how this game makes the translation from handheld to the big screen. I will definitely be picking this game up as soon as it comes out.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Land's Potential

WolfRamHeart

Great article. Even though I was underwhelmed by this game when I saw it at Nintendo's E3 press conference I do see the potential for it. I agree that by making it a pack-in title and selling additional content for it later via DLC would definitely extend the life of it. I don't see myself paying full retail price for this as it looks more like a tech demo. However, if the game ends up being fun then I wouldn't mind shelling out money for some additional content just as long as the game is a pack-in title.

Re: First Impressions: Rayman Legends

WolfRamHeart

@Corbs: Yeah, I was kind of worried that the Wii U would end up being just on par with the PS3 and Xbox 360 when it came to graphics. I don't expect it to be a beast when it comes to horsepower but I'm glad to hear that it's got enough power to truly be considered next-gen and that is good enough for me. I'm confident that Nintendo will make sure that their own games take full advantage of what the Wii U system is capable of and hopefully it will be enough to entice more third-party game developers to bring their titles to the Wii U.

Re: First Impressions: Rayman Legends

WolfRamHeart

Great impressions Corbs. This game is one of the main reasons that I am strongly considering picking up a Wii U at launch. It sounds fantastic and I'm glad to hear that you were impressed by it. So, you think that this game is visually better than Origins was on PS3? Sounds good but do you think that the graphics are a huge step up from the current generation of consoles? I know graphics aren't everything but I would like an idea of just how powerful the Wii U really is.

Re: Reggie: Friend Codes Return on Wii U, But They're Better

WolfRamHeart

Personally, I don't like Friend Codes but after reading the entire article on Kotaku I am feeling more optimistic about the way that Nintendo might implement their newly, revised Friend Code system. Here is more of the interview with Reggie on the topic of Friend Codes on Wii U:

The problem I believe people had with the Wii version, I told Fils-Aime, is that adults who owned the system felt like, hey, if I'm an adult, treat me like an adult and let me friend people I've met online without having to call a person and exchange a code or something like that. "Agreed," Fils-Aime said.

"You feel like those people will be happier?" I asked.

"Yes, they will be."

To me it sounds like Friend Codes will exist but in a manner that won't hinder our ability to friend people online. Right now I can only speculate but I think that we will be assigned a code that connects our Club Nintendo account to our Wii U system but our friends and people online will be able to see us via username or gamertag. I guess we just have to wait and see exactly how Nintendo is going to implement this but I'm hoping for the best.

Re: Black Ops 2 Coming to Wii U

WolfRamHeart

I'm with @misswliu81 on this one. I may not be a fan of the Call of Duty series but I am glad to see it on the Wii U. COD is a huge franchise and it makes a ton of money so it will be a very beneficial addition to the Wii U library of games.

Re: Preview: Wii U Hands-On

WolfRamHeart

Great article Corbs. Nintendo's E3 press conference left me with more questions than answers on their new console so I was anxious to get your impressions of it. The more that I learn about the Wii U, the more interested I am in getting one. I remember you not being too crazy about the original design of the Wii U Gamepad but it sounds like you are satisfied with the final design. About the Pro Controller, how is the feel of the placement of the ABXY buttons beneath the analog stick? Is it awkward or did you get accustomed to it immediately? How heavy are the Gamepad and Pro Controller? They look like they are light in weight. Do they feel durable? About the games, could you tell us more about the Wii U games that you played? I am particularly interested in Rayman, Pikmin 3, Super Mario Bros U, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Assassin's Creed III and Darksiders II but any additional information is much appreciated.

Re: E3 2012: The Most Gorgeous Wii U Screenshots Yet

WolfRamHeart

You also have to keep in mind that these are early demos of the games and the Wii U still has some time before releasing so I'm sure that the finished products will look a lot better than what is shown here. Another thing to consider is that launch titles don't utilize all the processing power of a new system. It takes a while in a specific console's life before we really see what that system is capable of. Personally, I don't think that there is going to be so much of an emphasis on graphic power in this next generation of consoles. I mean look at Ubisoft's Watchdogs and Naughty Dog's
The Last of Us, those games look absolutely amazing. If the current generation(Xbox360/PS3) of consoles can handle those games then the Wii U should be able to as well.

Re: Poll: Which Colour Wii U Would You Prefer?

WolfRamHeart

I prefer black and I would be willing to wait for that color to be available before buying a Wii U. I don't see why Nintendo would tease us with that color if they don't intend to make it available at launch. Just give the public the option of both colors. Releasing only white when the public has already seen the black version would most likely result in some lost sales.

Re: E3 2012: Get to the NA eShop for Some New 3DS Demos

WolfRamHeart

I downloaded the Lego Batman demo last night and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I never played any of the Lego games before but it was a lot of fun. I am actually interested in getting Lego City Undercover for Wii U now. I'm looking forward to trying out the Heroes of Ruin, Rhythm Thief and Kingdom Hearts demos when we get them. Keep those demos coming Nintendo!

Re: E3 2012: Nintendo's 3DS Software Showcase Live

WolfRamHeart

Well, I liked the games they showed tonight but since they already showed them yesterday it was disappointing. I was under the impression that they were going to show us something new but nope. Anyway, looking forward to Epic Mickey, Castlevania, Kingdom Hearts, Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario and Fire Emblem.

Re: E3 2012: The Most Gorgeous Wii U Screenshots Yet

WolfRamHeart

The graphics look nice but so far I don't really see anything that makes them look any better than the Xbox 360 or PS3. Perhaps I need to see them in person to get a better impression. I think that Rayman Legends and Trine 2 are the best looking ones here but Pikmin 3 looks kinda blah.

Re: Reaction: Your Opinions on Nintendo's E3 Conference

WolfRamHeart

My opinion of yesterday's press conference has not changed. It started out great with Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros. U but after that it all went downhill. Nintendo knew that their press conference last year was an underwhelming dud so they had plenty of time to put together a killer press conference. Instead they spent all their time focusing on singing, fitness and mini-collection games. They promised us that they would bring out big games and huge third-party support but they failed to deliver. It was just mostly stuff that we have already seen and ports of games that are already out on other systems. Nothing surprising; just a safe, predictable and boring press conference. Nintendo said E3 would be all about bring core gamers back with the Wii U but instead they chose to focus on the casual stuff once again. Doesn't Nintendo realize that casuals are not the ones who watch E3? Both Microsoft and Sony delivered sub-par conferences this year so it should have been an easy win for Nintendo with a new console but I felt that they completely blew that opportunity. I really hope that Nintendo can turn things around but for right now my enthusiasm for the Wii U has been knocked down significantly. You can do much better than this Nintendo.

Re: E3 2012: Every 3DS Game Announced So Far

WolfRamHeart

I'm not too worried about the line-up of 3DS games. What has been announced so far is pretty impressive so I feel confident that there is going to be a lot more on the way. The Wii U on the other hand is the one that I am worried about.

Re: Talking Point: Reviewing Nintendo's E3 Press Conference

WolfRamHeart

The conference started out great with Miyamoto doing the Pikmin 3 reveal and then Super Mario Bros. U but after the brief display of 3DS games it went completely downhill. This presentation was supposed to be all about the Wii U and it's games. There were supposed to be big games, a diverse variety of first party and third party titles to convince gamers that the Wii U would bring back the core audience but I did not see that. What I saw was predictable and safe. Doesn't Nintendo realize that gamers don't care about casual games? Yes, I understand that they need to cater to the casual demographic but this E3 conference was supposed to be about us gamers. To convince us that the Wii U offers something better than the competition. I don't care about dance and fitness games. I wanted to see Zelda, Star Fox, Metroid, F-Zero, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Pokemon, Smash Bros, etc. I know not all those franchises can make it out for the debut of a new console but at least bring some of these heavy-hitters out to get people salivating for your new console Nintendo. I was hoping for a surprise, something big like an Eternal Darkness 2 or a new game from Retro Studios but instead we get a mini-game collection in Nintendo Land. Then the third party support we see is mostly just ports of games that are already out and games from Ubisoft that we already saw in yesterday's conference. Where was the big third party support? I thought that Nintendo learned their lesson from the 3DS launch but this lackluster presentation proved to me that they did not. I really want to see Nintendo succeed but I don't believe that this was the way to do it. Nintendo can do better than this. I give this E3 conference a 5/10.
