Re: Talking Point: The Importance of the Wii U Press Event

Nintendo definitely needs to spill the beans on it and really show off what the console is going to do, what its going to have, what the price is going to be, and what the future looks like. I think some major game reveals are needed at this point and they need to have a walkthrough of the online and the online store.

This is literally one of my favorite games of all time. It really does suck that not many people got to check this one out but it getting a HD/3D port, a remake, or a flat out sequel for a larger audience will be a nice way to get a DC classic in more peoples hands.

I'm definitely the most interested in learning about the Wii U's online and what its all about as the online is the area where Nintendo seems to struggle the most. If they could put to rest all concern about the systems online, I will be be super stoked.

Re: Talking Point: Challenges for the Future of Nintendo Gaming

Reading about these typing games reminded me of my Phantasy Star Online days on Dreamcast and Gamecube. I learned how to type previous to these games but got good by playing these games and typing on the keyboards (love the GC KB controller). Also for me, the 3DS is a great device that I use for more then just gaming. I use it as a portable digital art pad, I use it as my primary netflix device (it helps for those hot Texas summer nights), take it everywhere and use the pedometer.

I really like the direction Nintendo has been going because it seems to me they get this, they get that there's many more people out there playing games now and that new ideas and content need to come about. On the 3DS, we've already seen several new IP's come from Nintendo and the return of Kid Icarus. I'm very happy with what they've been doing over this past year and the major turn around they've made.

Re: Iwata Explains Lack of Second Circle Pad on the 3DS XL

WiseGuy3683

Nintendo's stance on the second circle pad isn't very good imo.

Here's the deal. There are only a few games that use the second circle pad because hardware isn't built in. Because it's not built in and requires people to purchase it separately, it doesn't have a large install base, not to mention there are many skeptics, like myself, who don't want to buy it because it uses separate batteries.

Of course, lower install base means less support in particularly from western publishers. On that same note, many western games require a duel analog set up or something close (wii remote pointing) to work and the lack of this also means lack of their support as well.

Basically what I'm saying is it's a losing situation to not offer this. Even if they do add a second circle pad in the system in a later redesign, because it's not happening earlier in the systems life, it is doubtful that it will turn heads and draw support (like wii motion plus). When will they learn?

Re: Review: Project Zero 2: Wii Edition (Wii)

Not too long ago, a friend was talking about horror games. He got on topic of Fatal Frame and how he likes the series and wishes they'd make a new one, not knowing of the Wii one(s). I had to break it too him that the series was bought by Nintendo and NoA doesn't seem interested in bringing it over....

Re: 3DS Sales Momentum in U.S. and Europe is 'Not so Good'

WiseGuy3683

I could be talking out my butt with this one but maybe it could have something to do with a quite large number of games that are already out in Japan or are coming soon in Japan but aren't in EU or NA yet. You know, games sell the system and while the big Nintendo series's are always good, titles such as Monster Hunter and Fire Emblem are key titles that attract core audiences. Also grabbing western style series's and showing them off is also a key thing you need to do.

Re: Let Camelot Know If You Want Another Golden Sun

WiseGuy3683

I can't think of a reason to not make any more of these games. It's a solid series and is worth continuing. Question is how to show appreciation outside of sales and bombarding Nintendo's facebook/twitter with Goldensun requests. Do they specifically have a way we can communicate with them?

Re: E3 2012: Our View of Nintendo's E3

WiseGuy3683

I feel all console companies didn't really have the most amazing conferences though I feel as though Nintendo did touch a lot more content then either Microsoft or Sony did in their conferences. I really wish in the Nintendo conference that less time was spent talking and more time demoing games.

With that said, I didn't find the Nintendo conference bad but it didn't end on a good note. I heard that Retro Studios was supposed to show their new game off at the end of the show and it really felt as though they literally had to change the conference on the fly. I also think it is because of the lack of that huge AAA blockbuster reveal or trailer that most conferences end on is why the Nintendo conference didn't set well with people. It definitely didn't help that there were some strong titles, some big reveals, like Project P-100, and things that just the mention of made waves at E3, like fire emblem, weren't even mentioned in the conference either.

Don't get me wrong, there was a lot at E3 on the show floor and a lot collectively between all.... what.... 4 of their conferences/talks however they need the bulk in the main show and this is something they just didn't have. Either way though... Ubisoft owned ALL!!!
