Re: USA VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Clu Clu Land

"Rexy...seriously, sometimes you just come off as so arrogant. You act like you always have the right answer and that only your opinion matters. For god's sake, quit analzying everything, quit being a know-it-all, and get a life."

Im going to second this.

Re: EU VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels

Will

Its probly gonna hit the 300 mark properly now, nice to see. I dont think the US thread will go as high though. Im finding SMRPG to be a little short Im by no means tearing through it, but I already have four of the star pieces. However, this feels like the kinda game that once you finish, you immediatly want to start again Iv actually laughed out loud more then once playing this game, not an easy thing for a video game! There are so many funny moments Id like to post here, but I dont want to spoil the surprises for anyone

Re: EU VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels

Will

@Digiki, ah, see the thing about SMRPG is that nobody here ever got to play it before. Where as if you really wanted Paper Mario, chances are you would find the cartridge in the bargin bin. Or E-bay somewhere. But true, if we didnt already have Paper mario on VC posters would be going nuts with demands for it, I would think

Re: EU VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels

Will

"@Terranigma: Actually, Will predicted it (if somewhat jokingly) a while ago. He claimed he'd laugh if Europe got it first, and yet hasn't mentioned it here. Guess he's too busy enjoying the game this time. But I sort of believed him, even though I don't know why. Still, he was right! And after a 12 year wait to play it at all, I'd say it was more than fair."

Wahey! cant believe you remembered that! And yes, there was and is much laughter today! Big smile face! (sticks thumb to nose, waves fingers and blows raspberry in westernly direction)

Re: Mega Man 9

Will

Finaly, FINALY! Something actualy worth downloading comes to wiiware. This idea is so brilliant it cant possibly fail.
Predicting: Most downloaded wiiware game of 2008: megaman9.

Re: US VC Releases - 14th July - Donkey Kong 3

Will

"As far as I'm concerned, Nintendo has backstabbed us. I would be wary of the 360. They tend to break on people. The PS3 seems the best choice at the moment."

Nah, forget the consoles if you want your hardcore games experiance. A nice P.C. with a broadband connection is the way to go. Dont worry about console exclusives, the likes of GTA IV and Halo3 will find their way to P.C. in time. Yeah, its gonna cost you a few £££ more, but if you were considering the like of PS3 in the first place then you probly have the cash Nice P.C + Wii console = a win for gamage

Re: Sonic on the Master System coming to Virtual Console?

Will

@BJ, you couldnt be more wrong. "More 2D Sonic is always a good thing =)" x1,000,000. Sonic DOES need to go back to his 2D roots cos all his 3D games suck! a lot! 2D not for todays gamer? are you nuts? What is SSBB only a 2D fighter (before you try and argue that, no, your wrong) I hope sonic unleashed is nothing like sonic adventure, and everything like his megadrive games. Sadly, Im prepared to be dissapointed.

Re: Last Ninja 3

Will

That intro was amazing back in the day, youd load up the game just to watch it.

Re: EU VC Releases - 20th June - Epic Fail

Will

Noooooooooooooooo!!! Somebody have a word in the VC-Cats ear. What gonna happen now is, some fantastic VC game like SMRPG will be released on top of smash bros next week, so my game time will be divided. I had set aside my saturday evening for some serious gamage as well, now, nothing. Tune in next week...

Re: US VC Release - 16th June - Samurai Shodown

Will

@Rexy. Hey Rexy, sort yourself out with Sonic Mega Collection! Its terrific fun+value for money! Yeah you have to do the crappy play it 20 times or something to unlock the S&K lock-on, but what happened me was, I didnt even know the lock-on was included. I was just playing away as normal one day and Kablammo! you have unlocked such&such! So itll probly unlock itself for you before you have to go looking for it. Also, youd more then likely find it for £20 today so its a bargain really. Only thing is, you have to use wobbledy GC D-Pad, thats the downside.

Re: Nintendo Channel Gets An Update

Will

Nah, stats or not, Nintendo channel is a waste of space. I dont own a DS (even though my mam does O_o) so thats me excluded from whats probly the best part of the channel. I am mildly curious about the figures though, so cheers for the table! saves me some space....

Re: EU VC Releases - 13th June - The Last Ninja 2, Alex Kidd and more!

Will

@Demon. Speaking of under-rated, one seriously under-rated game on VC-Review is Ecco the dolphin. 3 stars for one of the best feckin MD games ever made! Its a crime! Im playing through it at the moment for the first time in nearly 16 years and it still feels fresh. Definitly deserved a 4star AT LEAST! That and AB both need to be re-rated IMO

Re: SNK Virtual Console Releases In Jeopardy?

Will

I agree with comment #6 I would have little interest in buying that 16 game compilation, but I do see myself getting king of fighters 94 at some stage. So I think theres room and warrant for it. Hopefully it will support the classic controller as well, or else wel never hear the end of it here!

Re: Only Geeks And Otaku Want Extra Storage On The Wii

Will

Yeah, what a loser. But really, isnt there someway we can walk around this? Why cant we use a regular USB hardrive to store games(with a little messing/hack)? Surly we are nerdy enough to find a way around this. ill probly get seriously LOL'ed but I dont really pretend to know too much about these things, I just want to see the problem solved.

Re: US VC Release - 2nd June - Ninja Combat

Will

How about this. Has anybody considered Nintendos next console? With the success of this virtual console, whos to say the next nintendo machine wont have a VC2? And AAA titles are being held for that reason? Eh? Eh?! Just tryna stir up trouble! LOL!

Re: Streets of Rage 2

Will

" #54, sirmatt... erm.. so the mere levels themseves bother you more than the gameplay? I think the over-the-top style of the game is one of it's many strengths. I mean that is quite an anal way to over-analize the game.

Sure the progression of the levels are ridiculous. It's one of the key factors into the variety of the game, and plus... it's pretty funny.

I had a completly different reaction than you to the silly levels. I suddenly found myself in a cave fighting a giant, rubber alien head? I just laughed and shrugged it off. I found it amusing.

Instead of letting things bother you, you should realize it's a video game, not the real world. Sit back, laugh at it's quirkyness, and enjoy.

After all, it's a Japanese game and 8 times out of 10, in a Japanese video game, it's a bit more off-kilter and weirder than the sense of gritty realism that people expect from say, a Tom Clancy shooter. And plus, this is Japan's quirky portrayal of Hollywood B-action films.

Much how Earthbound was a quirky portrayal of how they viewed the western area of the world. The insanity of Streets Of Rage 2 and 3 is more of a light hearted, parody of "over-the-top" B-movies than anything else. I mean, come on. The game is riddled with cliches that aim to be funny in a subtle sort of way. Right up to the "Big Boss" Mr. X being a stereotypical crime lord with a machine gun. How can the parody of that stereotype escape people as being intentional? Don't over-analyze it. Just play the dang thing.

Don't let some silly minor hang-ups on what the levels simply look like ruin an otherwise great game. Doing so is even more nonsensical than the levels themselves.

Not to mention that your point, in itself is rather hypocritical. I mean you say "Give me The Simpsons Arcade and TMNT any day"? Those games, and the inherent themes in those are absolutely 3 times as ridiculous as Streets Of Rage 2 could have dreamed of being.

I mean, complaining about silly themes in a game and then personally preferring two games that take "ridiculous" to a whole other level is really no way to make a good point. "

I second that rant!! LOL!!

Re: EU VC Releases - 30th May - Samurai Shodown

Will

Very good! Samurai Shodown is definitly worth it, I just cant get it now cos im not goin playin memory management tonite Maybe this weekend if I have the time.
Keep these Neo-Geo games coming please Nintendo! Is it just me, or do Europe get all the best games first!?

Re: US VC Releases - 26th May - Metal Slug

Will

Actually, I liked chase HQ on the C64. I wasnt a hardcore Metal-Slugger so I never felt the need to shell out for the anthology. However I was curious enough to part with 900Wii points for its VC release. Much to my delight, I found a brilliant game which was very enjoyable.
If nobody is joining your "boycott" its because you have no manners, and all your posts read like they are written by an angry simpleton. I just hope nobody confuses me for you.
