Re: Some WiiWare Developers Won't Get Paid

Will

The Nintendo seal of approval dosent mean squat anymore anyway. Wiiware is 98% shovelware as it is, some of the stuff there is just crazy bad. This threshold hasnt stopped these developers so far...

Re: USA VC Update: Super Punch-Out!!

Will

@StarFox, What about all the other awesome Saturn games like Nights, Sega Rally, Burning Rangers, X-men vs Street Fighter, Panzer Dragoon, VIRTUA FIGHTER 2! ect... I know theres loads more I cant think of right now, my mate had a Saturn and it was a fantastic console.

Re: EU VC Update: Super Punch-Out!!

Will

Nothing wrong with your memory KeeperBvK. There hasnt been anything I even considered donloading since I downloaded Mayhem in Monsterland back 17th October! O_o But this would be something I would splash the euro on here.
I would be a quality over quantity man myself.

Re: Review: Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars (SMS)

Will

I moved out of my old house three months ago. I have been living without a broadband connection in my new home now for that time, still monitering this site from work. In that time....... NOTHING has been released for VC to make me miss my Wii being online. But these last few weeks have been particularly poor. Sigh, I live in hope for Revenge of Shinobi...

Re: Nintendo Channel: John Rowlands C64 Interview

Will

Wow, John was really young when they coded Mayhem and creatures then. This is great stuff though. Feel a bit sorry for the Americans, C64 games were coded by love, it was just a differant time I guess. Rowlands games especially, I'd say if they made zero profit from any of their games, they still would have made them, and they would still have been just as awesome.

Re: Kaasa Interview - Commodore 64 on Virtual Console

Will

@Betagam7..hmmm, its kinda hard to remember stuff from when your 11. But I still have my C64 at home, and its definitly got a keyboard. Got the C64, tape deck and power supply. But other leads, joysticks and all games were lost somewhere along the way. Maybe he was rippin me off, but it didnt matter at the time. It was the only shop in town selling the C64.

Re: Kaasa Interview - Commodore 64 on Virtual Console

Will

Yeah, Im pretty sure I remember those prices. £4.50 to £5 for a cassette, and around £12 for a cartridge. The shop I used to buy them in wasnt a chain or anything, it was just some guys corner shop, so he probly addded on a £1 or 50p more say. I never got any game in the bigger case you mentioned though.

Re: Kaasa Interview - Commodore 64 on Virtual Console

Will

@Betagam7, Also, lets not forget, we dont have to sit through loading times on the VC!!!! Thats so important with the C64 games and makes it totaly worth any meagre price differance.

As I recall, C64 games in Ireland were five pounds. Thats not budget titles now, thats the good stuff like creatures and last ninja titles (on tape). Translate that to 6.35 euros today (not counting inflation) and whats the problem? This is a freakin bargain right here!!

Re: Mayhem in Monsterland

Will

"There was no way it deserved 100%, no game does and personally I don't think Mayhem in Monsterland is the greatest C64 game of all time. It doesn't stop it being a good game, it just forces people to look for faults."

@ Mr.64.... true, true. As much as I love (and I mean heart and soul LOVE!) MiM, no, it didnt deserve 100% Those faults you mentioned people will look for?

  1. Insane difficulty, I only made it to level4 once!
  2. Falling into a bottemless pit is the cheapest, most frustrationg way to die. And it happens a lot in this game.
  3. The bug which resets your lives to one if you collect over 10.
    That last ones a b£$%^&d.
Despite these, If I was to review it myself, it would be getting 96%-98%, its still a freakin awesome game.

@Betagam7, as far as Im aware, MiM is indeed, the only game ever to recieve a 100% score. Post a link to the super mario all stars review and Ill retract that statement, apolagise, and only ever refer to you as Master Betagam7, lol! Also, I 10/10 scores dont count, 100s of games have recieved a 10/10 score over the years.

@Mr.Cheez, I prefer the term.... inspired! This game is definitly worthy of your 500 points and time. Make sure and download whenever the states get it.

Re: Mayhem in Monsterland

Will

@soniczelda dude, you wouldnt spend a £5 on the only game in gaming history to ever recieve a perfect 100% score in an established gaming magazine? You would not be curious at all as to how that would play? Your crazy. Everybody should buy this, its an amazing piece of software. Created by pure love.

Re: EU VC Releases: Mayhem in Monsterland and More

Will

Man, I still cant believe this. I opened VC review just before I left work tonite at 12:30 and saw this. My jaw just dropped, couldnt even scroll down for about five seconds. MiM is just such an awesome game, cant wait to download. Had it for the C64 when it was released, but could never make it past level four!!! :/ I remember just sitting, listening to the music when I was small. I hope its still as sweet as I remember.
Im picked a bad time to switch credit cards, waiting for the new one to arrive means I havent been able to buy any Wii points for three weeks!! And we have had quite a good haul recently (I havent even downloaded mega-man9 yet ffs!!!) but I think Ill just feck off into town in the morning and buy some the old fashioned way. I cant understand why other posters arent more excited about this release, Mayhem is an AWESOME GAME!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!
I guess its just a younger crowd here tonite

Re: USA VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Clu Clu Land

Will

Well, its all over. Smithy is defeated and SMRPG is finished. sad face indeed I really wanted this game to keep going. There is still some loose ends to tie up of coarse, gotta plant that seed, find those other two flags, find the better weapons. And Im sure theres a ton more that I missed. I dont think there will ever be as epic a release as SMRPG on VC again I think Im going to cry.

Re: USA VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Clu Clu Land

Will

You know what I have found strange about SMRPG? Smithy. We never see him, or know anything about him really. Not till we get to the final fight anyway. I assume Im at the final fight, in the factory. Unless something happens after that. In which case, dont tell me! I mean, you dont even know what he looks like till you meet him? Anyone else find that strange?
Also, why have we never heard from Geno or Mallow or any of the other characters in the SMRPG universe since? Wouldnt Geno have been a much better addition to the new mario kart then piranaha plant, Boo, or (shudder) Waluigi?

Re: USA VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Clu Clu Land

Will

Dont really care for mario party. Still lovin RPG! I think I mite cry when I reach the end of this game knowing that there will never be another. I just LOL'd a half hour ago when mario was pretendin to be a statue! This game is too fuuny!

Re: USA VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Clu Clu Land

Will

@Badknux. Dont get me wrong, I like the Smash Bros series, I played the hell out of melee, loved it. But SSBB was just awful for me That freakin sub space rubbish just broke my heart, the characters are just not designed to be played like in a platformer. For me it was an endless holding of right until I got to the next section where I did exactly the same thing again. Last thing I did was unlock Sonic, he controlled like a dingus so I quit. I was disgusted, I had looked forward to that game for so long.

Re: USA VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Clu Clu Land

Will

"Yep good ol' Captain Falcon, even though he's the worst character in brawl I still main him and even win most matches that arn't against the ridiculously overpowered Snake and Metaknight ( friendly challenge going out to anyone interested)"

What? People are still playing Brawl? I played it for a week when I got it. Now it gathers dust. I though it was terrible :/
