Re: Talking Point: 3DS Launch Line-Up Lacks Fresh Ideas

V8_Ninja

Exactly the reason why I decided to wait before purchasing the 3DS. There's not really anything that makes me want it immediately besides the fact that it's the new console, and I've learned from Apple that I should always wait for either A) the price to go down or B) a hardware upgrade.

Re: Ubisoft's Brand Spanking New Party Game is a Sexy Shocker

@HeroOfTime007 My original post is fixed, but I highly disagree with the opinion that EA had good ad campaigns for Dante's Inferno and Dead Space 2 (the Your-Mother-Will-Hate-This-Game one). They were both immature and stupid. However, I don't want to turn this news post into a flaming ground, so if you really want to argue about it, make a thread on NL or Email me (my email is v.eight.ninja@gmail.com).

Re: Ubisoft's Brand Spanking New Party Game is a Sexy Shocker

The part that makes me question the game is the 12+ rating. Really, Ubisoft? Was the Dante's Inferno campaign and Dead Space 2 Your-Mother-Will-Hate-This-Game campaign not enough immaturity for you?

EDIT: Ignore the above statement. HeroOfTime007 Noted that the Dante's Inferno and Dead Space 2 Your-Mother-Will-Hate-This-Game ad campaigns were all part of EA's marketing, NOT Ubisoft's marketing.

Re: Wow, Disney Epic Mickey Sold 1.3m Copies in North America

@Yoshi2000 Not really, you just need some math. 1.3 Million multiplied by 50 is equal to 65 Million US dollars. If we assume that the wraps of money are each $10,000, we get 6,500 piles. The thickness of US dollars is 0.01 cm. Assuming that each dollar bill is an $100 bill, one pile would be around 1 cm. Multiply that by 6,500, you would have 6,500 centimeters, or about 2,559 inches. Convert that into feet and it's about 48' 7".

Re: Rumour: 3DS will be Region-Locked According to Nintendo

V8_Ninja

Y'know, I love how stuff like region locking and DRM makes people want to hack games even more than they would if those things weren't in there. It makes me feel as if game companies know exactly what consumers want.

Either way, I'm not surprised. Importing games (especially Japanese ones) takes a skill-set that I'm not really interested in. And besides, someone will come along and break the region locking on the system within a matter of months, so it's not a huge issue.

Re: Podcast: NLFM Episode 12: Ch-ch-changes

V8_Ninja

It's nice to see NLFM taking a weekly approach. I always feel deprived of NLFM after two weeks of a monthly release.

EDIT: Crap, I submitted a song that I completely goes against SoundCloud rules. Sorry, TBD. My bad.

Re: Planetary Body Spotted and Named by Renegade Kid

I'd think it would be too soon for a "Conversion" of Moon considering it was released only close to two years ago and there's no specific fan demand to make a sequel. The inherit problem with my suspicions is that I can't think of anything else that the publisher has made that revolves around enormous pieces of rock floating out in space.
