The Shift flash games are some of my favorite bite-sized pieces of gaming of all time. I'm so happy that the games are finally getting a full-length treatment.
The last time Nintendo wasn't able to fit all of their ideas into a game was after Super Mario Galaxy. Take that as you will, but I absolutely loved Galaxy 2 over the original. Call me pleased as punch.
Personally, this really doesn't affect me since I always play the single player campaign of any game before hopping into any of the online modes. But locking away people that do want to dive into the multiplayer from the start is just going to make people angry.
@WaltzElf It's all in a matter of taste. PETA makes it's "Jokes" appear hate-filled and make them look like that's what they truly believe. Essentially, if they are staying true to their word, PETA is too good at making jokes. Also, stop actively trying to spark controversy. I'm not going to say you're a troll because I don't know your true beliefs, but you always word your posts as if you want to start something.
I'll admit; if Nintendo's goal was to get my attention, they succeeded. While I'm not quite sure this is a good idea given Penny Arcade's lack of any narrative structure, I'm still really interested to see what they put out.
I'm still iffy on getting this one. On one hand, I love Cave Story and I'm always willing to play it again. On the other, there seems to be absolutely no significant additional content added to this iteration and I'll be paying $40 for what amounts to a game that I can already play on-the-go.
@Radixxs Hell, I would just be happy with a Star Fox 64 sequel. SF64 is one of the best games of all time and anything that resembles a sequel of that game would instantly warrant a purchase from me.
In all honesty, the multiplayer of Star Fox 64 is pretty weak. It's fun for a few matches, but gets pretty boring afterwords. The appeal of free-range combat in the campaign is that either (A): you're fighting something larger than you, or (B): the battleground becomes a absolute chaos, with 8+ ships all shooting at each-other. In the multiplayer both of those never happen, meaning that the mode comes off as dull.
I hope you know what you're doing Nintendo. This could either turn out to be very good or a complete disaster. Please, make the smart moves Nintendo. Please.
The only reason that I'm getting SAGA is because I know that I would absolutely hate tilt controls for BEAT and FLUX. So yeah, I'm getting BIT.TRIP SAGA for those not able to decipher my crafty language.
@WaltzElf Make me laugh some more. At least Nintendo has the decency to make more than two products and not make slightly enhanced versions of said products every 3-6 months.
I'm gonna have to agree with Oddy on this one. The voice acting was alright and the graphics looked really good. Now, if this trailer had more Albert Wesker, than I might have to agree with James...
Now the DiRT franchise (yes, that's technically how you spell the name) being on a Nintendo console interests me greatly. I played DiRT 2 and I found it to be great, even though I generally despise realistic racing games. Now, F1 on the other hand, I couldn't care less for.
I'm happy that the game is a work in progress, because that video completely deterred me away from the game. Hopefully it will evolve into something more substantial (which it almost undoubtedly will).
Great, now I have to decide between a $250 price point with 20 free games and a $170 price point but with no free games. Let me break it down;
250 minus 170 equals 80 80 divided by 20 is 5 dollars per downloadable game however, I already own 7 of the mentioned games, so that leaves 3 assuming that I don't own the other 10 games, that makes 13 80 divided by 13 equals 6.15 per game, so...
I think I'll wait to see what the other downloadable games are. Right now I'm leaning more towards the $170 price point. Either way, I'm happy and now I know I'm going to buy a 3DS.
Meh, whatever. Never really cared for multiplayer experiences on consoles. As long as Nintendo can still provide good single-player experiences I'll be happy with the Wii U.
EDIT: Oh, it would be also pretty cool if Nintendo could bring some long-term 3rd party support to the Wii U as well and not just some awesome 3rd party support at the beginning of the console's lifespan.
Hmm...that's an interesting answer. Maybe it's because Valve seems to be ever-updating the source engine until they manage to release Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Either way, Valve on a Nintendo console would be awesome.
I guess that cat's out of the bag at this point; the Unreal Engine can run on the Wii U (Batman: Arkham City uses it). I'm not really interested in Epic's games, but it's nice to know that the big game engines are finally coming to Nintendo consoles.
On a more serious note, the gameplay looks tried and true.I'll probably pick it up within the first week of launch like I have with every other Paper Mario game.
Come on internet! I haven't even set up my salt dispenser yet!
OT: The Blu-Ray is NOT going to happen seeing as it's a Sony product and Nintendo are pretty much in direct competition with them. However crazy as it seems, I do see the whole "Controller Touch Screen" being a reality. Nintendo would be daring enough to try something like that.

Re: Nintendo America Posts Xenoblade Art on Facebook
I guess video game petitions are good for something. Let's hope this sells well so that we get The Last Story.

You fools! Star Fox 64 is the ONLY game worthy of the title of "The Best N64 Game"! Zelda ain't got NUTHIN' on Star Fox!

Re: Review: BIT.TRIP SAGA (3DS)
Unless the frame-rate turns into that of a man who is trying to play Crysis on his netbook, I'm still buying this. Portable BIT.TRIP ftw.

@WaltzElf
"the iPad is the most innovative device in the past 10 years"
Mind reminding me how porting the same OS from a smaller device onto a bigger one is "Innovative" again?

That's odd. Well whatever, it's not like I was going to buy a 3DS anytime soon.
Re: First Impressions: Kirby: Mass Attack
This game needs more Kirby! There needs to be hundreds, if not THOUSANDS, of cute, pink balls of unidentified matter!
Re: Solatorobo Dev Would Like to Work on Mega Man Legends 3
While I doubt it would ever happen, I can see this working out. Let's see if Capcom does anything about this...
Re: GameCube to See New Downloadable Life on Wii U
I guess that could work. I would love to be able to download some of the games I missed on the GC.
Re: Vigil Games Talks About Wii U Development and Darksiders II
"It seems like Nintendo learned a bit from the Wii."
I like that idea/concept. I hope that Nintendo won't make me think otherwise.

Re: New Smash Bros. Announced for Wii U and 3DS
@Sushi You aren't picky, now are you? (Admittedly, you have a point, but the way you presented your opinion is what I'm picking on here.)
Regardless, I'm happy. I'll probably end up getting both games since I'm a huge Smash Bros. fan.

Re: Kirby's Next Handheld Outing is Kirby: Mass Attack
Because of the picture caption, I now want to see a Mass Effect game that uses Kirby characters...MAKE IT HAPPEN BIOWARE!!!
Regardless, this game looks pretty awesome. I'm a huge Kirby nut, so I'm going to buy it anyway no matter the quality.
Re: Fact Sheet: Wii U - 1080p HD confirmed, No BluRay
Eh, looks like everything that people complained about with the Wii is fixed in this new console. You can say I'm officially happy.
Re: Posting Luigi's Mansion 2 Screenshots Makes Us Feel Good
I'm just hoping that Nintendo can keep the semi-creepy atmosphere that went along with the first game. If they can do that, I'm already sold.

@BulbasaurusRex You do realize that you're arguing about opinion, right?
As for being on-topic, well-written review there Jon. You gave your points, you stuck to them, and you weighed the game according to those points.
