Re: Review: The Fall (Wii U eShop)

TG1

Got this in the Humble Bundle. Amazing story! I can't wait for the sequel.

Respect to the reviewers opinion, but I'm so glad this was not a text only game. The voice acting was terrific, and such a huge asset to the experience!

Re: Review: Runny Egg (3DS eShop)

TG1

To those calling this game a runner, it isn't. The trailer may make you believe otherwise (it did me) but this is a traditional platformer, and not at all like a runner. It's pretty decent too, certainly worth $1.99.

Re: Review: uWordsmith (Wii U eShop)

TG1

Good review Tim. A real shame there isn't more content included. I hope DLC will make the game less limited - I would've gladly waited if it meant a more complete game.

Re: Review: Battleminer (3DS eShop)

TG1

I've been playing this game for a couple months now, and have enjoyed it a great deal. To be fair though, I do lack familiarity with Minecraft. Nevertheless, I recommend Battleminer - I think it's lots of fun!

Re: Video: TreeFall Studios Releases Its First Ever Developers Conference

TG1

@Quorthon "But don't act like others can't express their opinions and discontent with this drivel."

I would never act that way. I'm only asking that people have informed opinions, and that they show respect towards those who disagree with them. In this case, those expressing opinions that they enjoy certain games others hate. We can certainly agree to disagree and be polite about it.

Re: Video: TreeFall Studios Releases Its First Ever Developers Conference

TG1

Fair enough I suppose, as long as you recognize what you classify as enjoyment may very well different from others. In the case of Maze at least it's clear that's the case.

Apologies if If I took you out of context. Your statement is pretty dogmatic though. No hard feelings, just very different points of view evidently, which is fine. All the best.

Re: Video: TreeFall Studios Releases Its First Ever Developers Conference

TG1

@MoonKnight7 "I say absolutely not, and that from an ethical standpoint, it's ripping off people's hard earned money."

You do realize that people are free to either purchase or ignore these games. How exactly are TreeFall, RCMADIAX, or others ripping people off?

Maze is $2,99 and well worth it imho. Toss n Go is 99 cents, again well worth it. You are free to ignore these games, but others choose to purchase them, and end up enjoying them. It really is that simple.

Re: Video: TreeFall Studios Releases Its First Ever Developers Conference

TG1

@KoiTenchi By that logic, are you holding a new indie studio to the same standards as Nintendo? Surely you see the difference!

Nintendo is at a whole different level for a multitude of reasons. We hold them at far higher standards, which warrants different criticisms.

Speaking for myself of course, but I imagine that's what was originally meant.

Re: Video: TreeFall Studios Releases Its First Ever Developers Conference

TG1

Send a message with your wallet and don't buy the games if they don't appeal to you once they're finished. We certainly don't need Nintendo stopping content - that's just a step back toward the days of WiiWare, when most of us complained the opposite.

Maze is a pretty good game btw. I won't defend The Letter, but Maze is enjoyable and worth checking out.

Re: Review: Maze (Wii U eShop)

TG1

@Oragami I still have fun with Blok Drop U & Poker Dice Solitaire Future. And both Blok Drop X Twisted Fusion & Toss n Go are good newer games as well.

Maze has fun bonus levels, one which is based on Blok Drop U.

Re: Review: Maze (Wii U eShop)

TG1

@MoonKnight7 The textures are fine. The worst culprit was a neon colored level with flashing lights. It was challenging, but a bit much.

@RCMADIAX Yeah, there is a good amount of content and enjoyment here for just $2.99. I really like the soundtrack also.

Re: Review: Maze (Wii U eShop)

TG1

I've actually found this game rather enjoyable. It has issues for sure, but all things considered I think it's pretty well developed, especially for a budget game.

While I definitely don't agree with Dave on the score, he is absolutely spot on about certain mazes having the potential to make you ill. It happened to me! Thankfully it was limited to just two mazes in the second world.

Maze has been a pleasant surprise, and I'd recommend it to anyone, so long they have strong stomachs.

Re: Year in Development: Nyamyam

TG1

Tengami was one of my favorite eShop releases this past year!

That said, a late, overpriced, stuttering port of a very short game is going to have struggles lighting up the sales chart.

I strongly recommend Tengami, in fact I consider it a must play! I'd love to see it get a permanent price drop down the line - $5.99 would be ideal.

Re: Review: Meme Run (Wii U eShop)

TG1

@BalrogtheMaster I'd say barely functional. With hit detection so bad you fall through solid ground, I'm not sure the gameplay deserves much commendation.

Re: RCMADIAX Gearing Up for Two Wii U eShop Releases This Week

TG1

Sad to see so much judgement passed on games that nobody has played yet.

I'm unsure about Toss N Go, but Blok Drop X Twisted Fusion looks great. Blok Drop was quite a fun little budget game, and Twisted Fusion was one of my favorite Wii U Kickstarters from the past year.

Re: Review: Tested With Robots! (Wii U eShop)

TG1

@Kirk The Seal of Quality does not mean what most people seem to think. The revisionist history it's taking is getting ridiculous. The NES (as much as I still love it) was filled with crap that boasted that very Seal.

Re: Review: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Wii U)

TG1

Nice review. While I do agree that the primary complaint Thomas had was rather odd and probably misguided, he at least attempted to explain his opinions. Everything was still well written in spite of that curiosity, and 8 is a good score. The review was an entertaining read, and the game itself is very entertaining.

Re: Review: My First Songs (3DS eShop)

TG1

Your biggest issue with the game might be moot - were you not aware that a click of the tv icon lets you watch each and every animation in full, with lyrics displayed?

I hate to see a game lose points for issues that aren't actually there. No action is missed, and the implementation here isn't just practical, it's ideal. Perhaps an edit would be appropriate, do you agree?

Re: Review: Sportsball (Wii U eShop)

TG1

@Emblem No AI opponents sadly, but Too DX have talked of upgrading the scant single player experience so there's reason for optimism.

Great multiplayer game, and good review!

Re: Review: PING 1.5+ (Wii U eShop)

TG1

This review is well written, although I strongly disagree that "there's too much luck".

I also hope to see a sequel built off constructive criticisms. There is lots of potential indeed!

Re: Review: Arrow Time U (Wii U eShop)

TG1

@Deadstanley I certainly do. The NES library in particular was full of poor games. "The Seal" has taken on revisionist history, not meaning what many seem to think it did.

Re: Review: Turtle Tale (Wii U eShop)

TG1

This review is fair enough, but I really enjoyed this game.

The second quest is far better, and recommended for those who are up to the challenge.

At just $2.99, I can't imagine why any platformer fan wouldn't want to take a chance on Turtle Tale.

Re: Meme Run is Coming to Troll Your Wii U Very Soon

TG1

@Tuosev No need to get so rude when defending your opinion. By your logic, every game ever released on the NES is good. The Seal of Quality did indeed have meaning, but revisionist history has turned it into something it wasn't.

Re: Review: Hideaways: Foggy Valley (3DS eShop)

TG1

Somebody should count up all the hidden object games on the eShop - they've become their own genre at this point!

This game is in the same mold as City Mysteries and Gothic Masquerade. If you liked either of those, you'll probably like this. It's overpriced however.

Re: Review: Tappingo 2 (3DS eShop)

TG1

@6ch6ris6 At just $2.99, it's like the game is already on sale. Not sure how 6 hours of gameplay is "so short" either (not including replay) but to each his own I suppose. Your loss if you pass on it.

Re: Review: ZaciSa's Last Stand (Wii U eShop)

TG1

Just picked up this game for $1.49 - I'm really enjoying it!

"The only unit that really stands out as being even with mentioning is the Drone"

I wonder if you meant to put worth instead of with?

Re: Review: SHUT THE BOX (Wii U eShop)

TG1

This doesn't match Blok Drop U or Poker Dice Solitaire Future, but for just 99 cents everyone should download it.

I like how I own the RCMADIAX trilogy for less than $5. Small quality titles at budget prices. Now bring on Super Robo Mouse!

Re: Take Pleasure In The Stupidity Of Your Friends In IQ Test, Coming To The Wii U eShop July 31st

TG1

In the case of IQ Test, I think the developers own view on the game's replay value is a fair one to go on. I'll leave it at that ... except to say that I still replay Super Mario Bros. to this day.

Again, glad you are enjoying IQ Test as much as you are. I've no reason to return to it now that the solutions are known, but perhaps I can find plenty of friends who will enjoy checking the game out. Time will tell.
