Guys, it's pretty obvious why the limit is there. If they did one timed campaign and one unlimited campaign, there would be a bit of a disconnect. This way they only needed to make a small tweak to the code instead of two sets of code for two campaigns, it was all to make things more cohesive.
Not saying I agree with it but I guess in terms of efficiency, it makes some sense.
Honestly the best solution is to add in the credits for the remaster and the original team but make it skippable, do people here remember how long the credits for Sonic Colours were? Nearly 15 minutes! And that's the original credits! Colours Ultimate's credits is more or less double that length because it includes both teams and ya can't skip it!
@DiggleDog Agreed. What was Cambell's line in Brawl again? Oh yeah..... "There's probably not a single person who doesn't know Mario, he's THAT famous!"
Sorry Orokosaki, but you know how it goes; if it doesn't have a edgy, dark storyline with drama then it won't win GOTY. In other words, the winner will be Last of Us Part 1. I would LOVE to be proven wrong though.
The only thing that's really a "smash-killer" as far as this game is concerned, is the use of rollback netcode and let's be fair; That's a stretch, saying ONE feature kills the rest of smash.
@russell-marlow Completely agree with you. I get it, people feel like game overs and lives are an old game design that has no place here. But colours is literally one of the easiest sonic games to date with it's slow blocky platforming, short as heck level design for most of the acts, the levels are super condensed, anything else? Oh yeah, there's a giant WATCH OUT sign next to every bottomless pit! We gained our platforming experience through trial, error and learning. That's how you get through life itself. You try, and if you make a mistake, well, you know for next time.
The new features are neat, but it doesn't fix what is IMO the most overrated sonic game. It's only praised because A) It keeps the boost gameplay while removing the warehog. B) It ditches "Sonic's terrible friends besides tails" and C) Removes the "Drama" of Sonic's story-telling.
I honestly don't like the game, with the story focus entirely on "Hmm, funny" Sonic, with nothing but jokes. Unleashed and black knight had the perfect balance of high stakes but still light enough to have comedic moments. The level design in colours is so condensed that it clashes with the boost gameplay, plus standing and waiting around to push switches.. so story and level design is a step backwards and I agree with everything @AlienX said especially this part: Real fans of the series do like Sonic's "useless friends."
It's honestly sad that this looks like it's had more love and care put into it's presentation than one of the biggest card games out there. LOOKING AT YOU KONAMI AND YOUR LEGACY OF THE DUELIST!
I feel like people really haven't grasped what grinding is if they are calling paper mario grindy. Difference between paper mario and say....final fantasy is the max number of exp is always 100, ALWAYS. And Enemies scale their exp as you level up and progress story.
If your in chapter 8, those 3 snow goombas might give you 15 exp total. But three chapter 1 goombas will probably net you 3 total. It's literally THE most anti grindy RPG, ironically to the point where if you decide to grind, if you end up with 100 star points when you already maxed out HP, FP AND BP, you'll soft lock the game Thankfully that bug was fixed in TTYD.
Now, I know that I listed a game breaking bug, but what game doesn't have bugs? I am certain that a fair few people pointed out some that happened in TOK.
My point is battles need a purpose whether it's character progression via exp or in TOK's case, cut the amount of coins and confetti in the overworld to say a quarter, and you would have a reason to battle as you wouldn't be quite so loaded with coins to buy those metal boots or confetti to fill that hole for you to progress.
I understand wanting to do new things. But there is wanting to do your own thing and then there is willingly ignoring constructive criticism, from what I heard, the writing in TOK is up there as some of the best in the series, BUT writing is only 50% in an RPG imo, actively avoiding battles because there's no reason to battle when you can get coins everywhere else, it's a red flag to me when I am encouraged to avoid 50% of your game. To be honest I agree with @Not_Soos on pretty much every point.
@Fuwa exactly my point. It's not just about what information is given to you, but how, and I think trying to let everyone open menus constantly just to check their information would be a UI and logistical nightmare, even if they just haphazardly threw that feature in, either the information would be unreadable or it would clutter up the whole screen. Honestly I still think that it will be a good time online.
This isn't to be an apologist, this is a geniune thought process that I welcome reasonable and constructive retorts to; Isn't this more of an UI issue? The original's multiplayer was thanks to the gameboy player and each person had their own GBA to see their own inventory, while the gamecube showed the main adventure on the tv. Wouldn't this be a problem on any of these consoles? I suppose with one docked and three handheld, you COULD place an inventory on each screen but who know's what size it would be on the switch screens. Obviously PS4 and XB1 don't have controllers with screens so they are out and mobile? That would arguably be worse than switch. To accommodate this, the UI would have to be overhauled for every console and it seems they want to keep things consistent. Whether it's the right or wrong choice, I don't know. I might check it out, it'll probably still be a fun time.
So we have 28 models, double that for ginantamax, then if it's true that the max'd mon have 3 seperate models for the clouds above their heads that's an extra 2 models per mon....so I THINK that's what? 112 models for one mon?
Looking at both sides; yes on one hand; rehiring voice actors/actresses is a pain and would probably be costly. ON THE OTHER HAND; They had already decided who the dlc cast was gonna be, so why not record them pre-emptively while the base cast was already being done, sign the NDA stating they won't spoil the DLC, then patch in the lines when the DLC character is released? There are cases for and against here. But I will agree this does lead people to believe that our plant friend was meant to be in the base roster, but then made DLC at the last minute.
Well...your not COMPLETELY out of luck with the collector's edition...you just have to (like knowing my personality I am probably gonna end up doing) give in to the scalpers.
Here's the real issue. Nintendo delivers great gameplay, but all people care about is power and graphics, let's face it - modern day gaming sucks. Of course people aren't gonna care too much on Nintendo, despite Nintendo actually putting effort into making FUN games. Oh and before we forget, EA dropped support the moment Nintendo refused Origin to be used as the network infrastructure, Ubisoft delayed Rayman Legends for Wii U so the Xbox and Playstation Versions could be released at the same time (despite the Wii U version being finished) but they didn't delay the Xbox and Playstation versions of Watch_Dogs so it could be released at the same time as the Wii U version. Sega recently released Lost World on PC despite it meant to be part of the Nintendo Exclusive deal. As for the rest of the third parties, they just didn't like the fact that they couldn't copy. paste the job like you can between xbox and playstation. I will admit that Nintendo did not advertise/market the wii u or it's games as much as say Splatoon, but really the drought of games and lack of Third-Party support is on the third parties who stabbed Nintendo in the back as well as the Third Parties who are apparently too lazy to realize that gaming is evolving and they will need to LEARN new hardware infrastructures sooner or later. That's my two cents.

The only reason I still use my porrta upscaler is cuz on my old tv it could upscale the footage to 1080, which is great for twitch.
