@GayusGayer yes. 3ds 76 million. Switch is well over 90 million now, maybe 100 million with Christmas

@johnvboy That was my feeling. Had the new model been more of a Pro style performance upgrade then I could see them selling side by side, but OLED model feels like a replacement to me.

@westman98 nice chart. Interesting that at this stage the Wii only went on to sell another 14 million - must have started to plateau at this point in its life. Judging by current Switch sales it could go on to beat it by some margin.

Will stick my neck out and guess at 125-130 million. Could be completely wrong of course, not really tried to plot it out.

@LeighDapa To say it won't beat the DS seems reasonable (I agree with you), but surprised you think it might not catch the Wii (or finish there about). 12 million more to catch the Wii, would have thought it was nailed on to do that.

@g_ruz I don't think it is any less portable. They made the bezel smaller so they could squeeze the bigger screen into the same size device.

@Ludovsky Thanks. Sounds logical. £279 and £309 looked to close a price point to maintain both, also I think it makes sense to keep the "family" small to avoid confusion. Perhaps then we will see something similar soon with the Switch Lite OLED.

Is the original Switch being discontinued or selling along side this?

I would love to see it break that record, but 154 million is still a big ask. How many DS' had been sold at this stage of its lifecycle? Would be interested to know.

Didn't get my New 2ds XL until the Switch launched. Love it and still play. It introduced me to Fire Emblem - epic.

How is 2DS outselling Xbox Series X/S after 10 years on the market? Do Microsoft not pursue Japan as a market or is it just really unpopular?

Would like to see it creep past 76 million.
